Within the seemingly still, inky blackness of space, there was silence. The stars of different sizes decorated the black canvas and everything seemed frozen in its natural harmony. However, this was soon to change.

At first, the anomaly was unnoticeable. Soon, any observing star-ship in the local space would have immediately picked up on the oddity. It started off as a minuscule red orb the size of a house. The orb grew rapidly, firing out bolts of electricity and plasma in all directions as it increased in size at an exponential rate. Now, it was the size of a continent, but it didn't stop there. The red electricity intensified and the amount of heat generated would have been enough to vaporize any material in the nearby vicinity.

Jets of plasma spewed out at unfathomable speeds, the process generating high amounts of radiation and an intense light that would be detectable almost anywhere in the galaxy. The object was the size of a planet now, 13'000 kilometers in diameter. It was at this point the activity started to die down. The glowing molten planet now radiated a red aura that dissipated the further it reached into space. The electricity decreased in intensity slowly until only mere sparks shot out from the planet's surface. The jets of radiation and plasma also decreased and the planet started its process of cooling down...

Acheron was born.

A few weeks had passed and the planet already cooled down at an exponential rate. The crust started to form and the remaining magma was trapped underneath it. The atmosphere also cooled down and gases such as oxygen and nitrogen through some unknown process became more prominent while the others decreased. It was almost as if something was ushering along a process that should normally take millions of years.

Eventually the planet cooled down to the point where it's original appearance as a ball of fire and lava had changed to a more desert-like planet.

Mephistopheles watched as the first part of his plan came to fruition. The planet had successfully been remade in the main universe, after so much time spent building up and conserving energy. Finally, it all paid off.

As he channeled more energy into the planet through a portal in his dimension, he wondered what he would have to do to actually attract his prey. The humans were a young, curious species still on the paths of discovery and expansion. Perhaps something to entice them...

Once the planet was fully cooled, Mephistopheles conjured a ball of argent energy in his hand, allowing it to build up to the point of it exploding from the sheer amount of heat and energy building up in his hand. He then sent the ball darting through the portal where it exited in the space above the planet. The asteroid-sized ball hurtled into the planet's atmosphere, trailing a thick line of red energy as it cut its way across the planet's orange sky and finally made contact with the surface.. upon which a massive explosion was generated that could be seen from space.

The sheer amount of energy released from this explosion kicked dust and sand into the atmosphere and sent winds that shook the entire planet momentarily. The center of the explosion also caused a massive spike in radiation that could also be detected by any space-faring species. What was now left behind was a massive crater, hundreds of miles wide. Within the crater, sparks of red electricity sizzled and danced around it, with small orbs of glowing red energy rolling and bouncing around with each small explosion of red electricity.

As the planet finished cooling down, its temperature stabilised and the weather patterns were reduced to sand storms with occasional heatwaves.

Everything was in place, just as intended. Patience was all that was required now...
