While the gun looks very crude and primitive, it is only apearances as the advanced mechanisms, while tiny are built in, partially in the large scope.

Strengths
Kat herself modified the workings of the quantum cartridge and fusion gas distribution to create bigger, more powerfull rounds with better ricochet capabilities, better damage and high powered penetration. A bullet can easily go through armor except when it's aimed/angled in such a way to have it bounce off. When it does go through armor it will punch right through the person and come out the other in bouncing off more surfaces/through enemies. It's range and damage are unmatched and while the bolt action offers high rate of fire in skilled hands it also makes the weapon extremely reliable.
Weaknesses
Obviously, the gun is hard to use in close encounters. The long range scope limits the user's awareness and it is tedious to sheath. The wooden frame is vulnerable to rot and needs to be maintained and/or repaired with utmost care. Aim is important when using it and the user will need to concentrate, being under fire makes it alot more difficult to use.
Description
Little people know that Kat is actually a skilled mechanic/tinkerer. A prime example is the gun she uses to fight, while it looks like a very old terran sniper rifle, it is actually state of the art technology made to look primitive. It is possibly one of the better rifles out there, despite this there is only one out there as Kat refuses to release the schematics for it. Mostly to prevent others from getting it.
