The cylinder started to give due to Kitty's immense strength. By now, the entire room was empty and only littered with dead bodies. Every other demon had for some reason escaped with Lynx.
As the cylinder began to slowly slide out of the ground, the Freelancer finally reached the main cube and entered just as Kitty managed to rip half of the object out of the ground. He walked over and stopped at her side, not offering any help.
"We need to leave. I sense that we have allowed ourselves to fall into a trap." He said to her. However it was too late. The station suddenly shook violently in response to bombardment from outside it. The Freelancer stumbled a little but managed to find his balance. Another hit again caused the station to shake, which apparently switched off the gravity generators as the both of them began to float up. The Freelancer prepared to activate his magnetic boots in order to land near the still half-buried cylinder but just then, another explosion ripped through the walls of the lab and sent them hurtling across the glass cube.
A series of smaller explosions ripped half of the flooring away and it was as if the station had been torn to pieces as flooring, walls and different sections of the station were now explosively decompressing and being hurled into the blackness of space. The Freelancer quickly used his thrusters to stabilize himself in the decompressing zero-gravity envrionment, before using them to turn and grab Kitty. Both of them were then subsequently sucked out of the station and into space at a speed that even the Freelancer's thrusters wouldn't counter.
The Freelancer quickly extended his energy shield so that it would encapsulate both of them and provide Kitty with air to breath. He then turned to look back at the station that was now in pieces, surrounded by an even greater number of demon ships than before. Lances of yellow energy shot forth from the ships and tore any part of the station in its way asunder.
The Freelancer spotted a particular piece of flooring floating in space - still containing the cylinder in which the Arclight Blade was contained. However it was too late... the cylinder was far from them and a demon ship had already captured the object in its tractor beam and pulled it on board. The demonic fleet collectively fired their thrusters and floated away from the broken station. The Freelancer's ship had by this time arrived at their location as per the Freelancer's earlier commands and beamed both of them onboard. Once they were on, The Freelancer dropped Kitty on the floor and walked over to one of the consoles, looking at the screen.
"It's too late..." He said. "They have entered into hyperspace."
