Following the massive influx of refugees to Imperial space,the means to feed these new mouths became a heated topic in the Imperial Court until Scholar-Lord Omaz Krell suggested a food pill replacement that would provide the nutrients required for these citizens to function.The Court agreed with his suggestion and the Ration pills entered production.

The ration pills contain the required combination of amino-acids for optimal organic life.The pills however lack the taste of actual organic food and is described by many of it's users as a dry tasteless pill that leaves users with a powdery taste in their mouth.The pills vary in size but remain at least with a diameter of 10 centimeters.
There are several variations of the pill:
- Class-A pills are flavoured nutrient pills laced with artificial flavoring to mimic the taste of the foods they represent,these pills are reserved for the more distinguished citizenry in times of food shortages or emergency rationing.
- Class A Pills {Human Food Varient}:
- Class-B Pills are similar to Class A pills but with reduced flavoring and increased amounts of nutrients and vitamins and issued as part of a standard ration pack in the Imperial military forces.The Varanus use this to replenish their lost proteins after a period of regeneration.
- Class-C Pills are the mass produced pills provided for the lower class citizens and refugees of the Empire,they are tasteless and leave a undesirable powdery taste after consumption,these pills have become a staple food if not the only food for the poor and forgotten citizens in Imperial Slums.
- Class-D Pills are in all ways similar to Class-C pills with only a slight reduction in certain nutrients.
- Class D pills function:
Class-D pills are laced with a chemical formula that calms the user and makes them much more passive by suppressing parts of the brain that controls emotions and certain parts that control thinking.The Imperials use these pills to make otherwise unruly civilizations/societies passive enough to redevelop via brainwashing and integrate them into Imperial society with little effort.They do this by making these civilizations dependent on the pill via destruction of all food production facilities during a invasion or 'rebel sabotage' of foodstuffs during occupation,as a replacement the empire then provides these pills freely or sometimes even mandatory to the citizenry of the planet.These pills are then swapped out for Class-C pills after the integration process is completed and development of the world under Imperial rule begins.It's near impossible to detect these chemicals without the proper technology and remains one of the greatest tools for absorbing others into the Imperium.
