The yellow sun of the Scelfor system was an old star. It was lapsing into its last billion years of life before going supernova. But even still it provided energy and food for the planets of Scelfor. It gave everyone hope as they looked at the bright star in the neverending darkness. 

The two factory new Griffin Class Destroyers glided among the stars as they headed full speed for Scelfor II. Along with this powerful escort glided 5 Ironhide Carriers carrying enough food, troops, and ammunition to fight a war for years. They were not even an hour from the planet itself when the radio transmission came in from out past Scelfor VIII. The ships did not stop suddenly the ship's crew were all entering battle positions. The Rear Admiral Tavrian entered the bridge his Obisidan Bridge Gear flashed with the light emanating from behind the walls. 
"Can someone please inform me why I was rudely wakened?" He said his voice echoing around the bridge.
"Sir there's a transmission coming from behind Scelfor VIII, you should hear it." A bridge technician said as he rose motioning him over. Tavrian walked over with ease and sat down as the officer handed him the headphones. He shook his head.
"Broadcast it." 
The technician nodded and quickly typed in some keys. The big holoscreen on the bridge extended downwards and 3 words came over the screen. The words were 'We are coming!' This wasn't what had made the bridge crew nervous the voice accompanying it had. The sound piped in not even a second later and the highest and most cheerful little girl's voice said 'We are coming' with a quick giggle. 
"How long has this been on repeat?" Tavrian said.
"Around 15 minutes now sir." 
"You said it's coming from behind Scelfor VIII?"
"Not anymore sir, whatever it is, is now passing Scelfor VIII's last moon." 
"But that's not possible! Its only been 15 minutes." 
"Sir its moving quicker than any of our ships have." 
"Alert Scelfor I." 
"Already done sir." 
"What flight path is it currently on?" 
"Straight towards us sir." 
"How long?" 
"2 hours sir." 
"How long till Scelfor II?"
"35 minutes sir." 
"We need to get the carriers to the ground no matter what. There are the lives of over 2 million men on those ships." 
"Understood sir, should I tell them to flood their main engine?"
"Do it but tell them to stay planetside until this threat is over." 
"Sir?" 
"Well, we aren't going to just sit here and take it!" 
"Sir the radar says this ship is a lot bigger than our ships." 
"Well, then we better be ready to intercept it." 
"Tell the fighter squadrons to prepare, alert the ship that this is a Code Blue and to prepare for battle."
"Sir yes sir." 
"Move the ship into attack formation and change course. We're going hunting." 

{Back On Scelfor I}
Omega Base
The HQ of the Navy was in hysterics as people ran from station to station as they started planning on what this was. The uproar was ridiculous until High Admiral Canavier entered the room. The entire room went dead silent as everyone looked up to him. He nodded down at them and cleared his throat. 
"At the current moment, around 112 million miles away the ships of Brandish and Nycin are entering a flight path to engage the ship that entered our system over 2 hours ago." 
A large map of the two flight courses meeting each other appeared on the large screen. 
"These brave men and women are fighting a ship that has a standing length of 2.5 kilometers and still has the speed of a corvette." 
He clicked on it and a small pixel-sized object was seen in the top right corner. "That's from our satellite ReComm. For an example, our ship would not even take up a megapixel of this picture but yet the ship is clearly seen." 
The screen clicked to black. 
"So now I ask the most of you. I need you here telling the crew of these brave two ships what to do and when to attack. There are 2400 lives at stake here and truthfully I think we're going to lose all of them. This ship has never been seen before and its a lot more powerful than either of ours. But still, we are going to give the brave men and women a chance to kill this thing before it makes landfall. Now we need to focus and give them the advice they need. Now I ask of you to save the lives of every man and woman up there. So my last question is..who's ready?" 
The entire control room erupted into cheers as they all turned back to their screens putting through simulations and trying to get the most accurate and detailed picture of the ship. The Admiral smiled and turned around his smile turning into a frown. He turned to one of the advisors.
"Move ahead Project LSM we need it up and running within the week." 
He nodded and ran off. 
"Pray for them that they can destroy it before it gets here." 


Back on the leading ship named 'Brandish' was powering through, Admiral Tavrian stood at the helm watching the planets and stars zoom by. He sighed and placed his hand on the control panel the ships light going to blue. The automated voice repeated "Battle Stations. Battle Stations...This is not a drill...Fighter Squadrons report to your hangars... bridge crew and weapons crew report to battle stations."  He heard the feet stomping all over the ship as brave men and women start moving. He sits down in his Captain chair and watches the radar screen. Now the ship was only 32 million miles away and the estimated time was not even 25 minutes. The bridge crew were talking feverishly with Omega Base but it didn't matter. We got the call that the carriers had made landfall and were attacking the capital city of Tesre. 'At least we'll save the lives of those men' His mind said. He shook those thoughts away and then the little bloop of the ship popped up on the closer radar. 
"Let's go kick some ass eh?" He said almost trying to convince himself.

At 15 million miles away the ship was not even close to visible but the idea of it was looming over every member of the ships. The guns were ready the fighters preparing to launch and the ship's engines at full. Everyone gripped their seats as the distance ticked down. 
"15 million...14...13....12....11....10....9....8....7....6.....5....4....3....2....1..." 
Once it reached the hundreds of hundreds of thousands the fighters launched into formations around the ships. Each ship had 4 squadrons of 5. The tanks remaining on the ships latched onto the top arming themselves for more firepower. At 30,000 miles we heard the first radio transmission of just gibberish and then when we reache around 1 thousand miles away we saw the ship. It was massive. It looked like a hefty spear with armaments that have never been seen before. They launched a volley of 12 purple missiles. 6 spread off to hit each ship and only 1 made contact. When it hit the energy disbanded across the prototype shields. We launched our first volley with every single weapon hitting. We watched in horror and amazement as the shields seemed to just tank it and keep on going. We fired volley after volley at this ship the shields simply rebounding it. We could see the main cannon of the gun powering up. The gun fired in a blink of an eye. It hit the Nycin's shield. We could see the shield evaporate and then the beam continued on ripping through the lower portion of the ship. The ship continued on but you could see where part of the hangars had fallen off. Then the larger ship started firing their large guns nonstop. The fighters departed weaving in and out of the laser and plasma fire scattered throughout the battlefield. Around 42 squadrons of fighters departed from the new ship rising to meet our lonely nine. The light filled the battle as we both fired on each other. Our ships shields failed shortly afterwards leaving us to defend with only physical armour. The Nycin was hurt bad and the screaming aboard the bridge in frantic please and strategies overwhelmed the screaming from the dying. The Rear Admiral stood on the bridge his eyes narrowed as he heard the fighters slowly being destroyed.

The Nycin raced forward fires burning deep within the core. We had gotten the call that the ship's drive had overheated and was going to explode at any minute. They pushed forward flattening the fighters that were attempting to dive bomb and take down the far larger ship. Tavrian gripped his chair hard as he heard the SOS call and then the eventual call that they were going to ram the ship. All the fire was on the larger ship and we took our chance. We turned around blasting the engines and charging the shields. We took off at full speed as the remaining fighters came back into hangar docking and taking account of their losses. The Brandish put its engine under the max-load possible as the Nycin steamed its way onto the oncoming ship. Now the enemy ship focused only on the Nycin all of the weapons firing against the ship. It was literally ripping apart when it hit the much larger ship head-on. The explosion was massive but only lasted for split seconds before the fire dissipated. The fighters were scattered and the massive ship had a large gaping hole ripping into the cargo hold. Rear Admiral Tavrian let a tear drop from his eye as he pounded his chest in respect for the men and women lost. 
"We need to get back." He said with finality as they entered the fastest mode. 
"We cannot let them beat us back." 

The Omega base watched in horror at the ship savagely ripping the Nycin apart. The Brandish was hauling it back to make a stand on the moon of Scelfor II. The campaign on the planet itself was going very well as the last of the military were being brought down slowly but surely. The camera on the Nycin had caught the name of the ship and it did not sit well with anyone. The ship had been identified as The Apocalypse and after the first engagement, the radio messages had stopped. The ship was still on the radar and was motoring slower, but still fast, towards the Brandish. As the Brandish passed Scelfor II the news came out from HQ. 
"Rear Admiral Tavrian your mission orders have just been updated." 
"By who?" 
"The High Admiral sir." 
"Patch them through my helmet feed." 
"Yes, sir." 
Tavrian walked out of the bridge as the holofeed pinged in. 
"Rear Admiral Tavrian this is the High Admiral and you have new orders."

The station construction was pushed to the limits. All of the normal safety precautions have been sped up and comforts are not available. The ship is fully functional and hovering above the planet rotating around the planet around 3 times a day. The gun has a functional range of 20 thousand miles and the optimal range is around 5,000-3,000 kilometers. It's been activated and is awaiting the Apocalypse to engage in combat. The men and women are the best we have and its a sped up protective blanket that has a 42.687% chance of success. If it fails the world will fall regardless.

The Brandish had managed to beat the ship back to Scelfor I and was hiding behind one of the moons staying on the dark side. The Apocalypse was at most an hour behind. The remaining fighters were landed on the moon and the 5 remaining tanks were mounted in strategic locations across the moon where they would draw fire. The new orders of the Brandished were to buy time for the L.S.M and everyone knew they would not survive this conflict.

The Apocalypse approached fast towards the planet. The Brandish was obscured by the moons radar ping and as the Apocalypse went by fast the trap was sprung. The fighters engaged first going off with bombing runs and retreat. Then they were engaged by the ships own fighters. In order to draw them closer to the moon, all of the tanks released their ammunition drawing the ship closer. The tanks did virtually nothing but give them a reason to come closer. As they were drawn to the light side of the moon the Brandish flew out from behind quickly approaching the back of the ship. The Brandish opened fired all the guns aiming for the engines. The shields of the opposite ship held strong until we launched our missiles quickly breaking through. The Apocalypse wasted no time in firing mercilessly into our shields which fell quickly. The ship was ripping apart as the Apocalypse finally swung all the way around to face us. They fired their large energy cannon ripping a third of the ship off as we pushed the engines to the max moving towards them. We could see the hole where the Nycin had crashed as we barrelled forward. Rear Admiral Tavrian screamed over the intercom as the front of the ship ripped through the Apocalypse. 
"When the darkness fades light will always prevail!" 


The remaining two fighters hit their full speed as they raced back to the planet. The shockwave of the ships hitting flung Gold 5 into a spin where it was picked off by another fighter. Blue 01 pushed his ship faster and faster until he could no longer see the laser fire spinning by his ship. The Brandish had done its job and hopefully, it had bought enough time. Blue 01 entered the atmosphere at speeds that the ship shouldn't have been able to take. The heat shields protected the pilot from burning up but he passed out due to the G's. The autopilot engaged and when the pilot woke he landed at Air Force Base Hex. In the end only one person out of the 2,456 men that were on the two ships. Only one person made it back. One fighter out of 90 that were there came back. One man out of 2,456 would live to tell the tale. 

The Apocalypse had suffered heavy damage to its front hull and 4 out of the 9 engines. The shields would replenish automatically but the hull would remain breached and would fill with space the minute the shields fell. None of the crew aboard had any need to survive this and their only objective was to run the humans out of the system. All of the guns except for a few Gatling guns had been destroyed. It powered on after finishing off the last few tanks and fighters and made its way clockwise around the planet trying to catch up with the L.S.M. If they did not destroy it the station could fire upon the ship from above. 

The red klaxons went off over the station as the proximity alert went off. All the men and women were already in their battle stations and the bridge crew perked up as they watched the stars shimmer, waiting for that view to be obscured by the massive ship. The Apocalypse came into view a short 5 minutes later. The gun was already charged but not in a position to fire. The Apocalypse's guns shot out fast rapid bursts over and over. The 50 squadrons of ships emerged from the station rising to greet the dwindling population of their fighters. The sky was littered with explosions and laser blasts as both sides fought valiantly.

The large gun spun around to face the Apocalypse as the atmospheric thrusters pushed us so we could aim properly. The ship was at ramming speed approaching fast. Luckily, the gun was fully charged. The klaxons went silent before an eerie blue light filled all the cabins. The fighters did the EVAC route all of the divisions circling around the stations getting out of the way of the gun. The large thruster on the back flared as the gun went off leaving the ship with massive amounts of recoil. Even with the large thruster firing at full power, the gun pushed it back a good mile.  The large 5.6 ton bullet shaped object flew through space at speeds that the human eye can't follow. It ripped through the entirety of the ship before stopping inside the engines. It was amazing as the ship sliced through so cleanly leaving white hot metal where it ripped through. The Apocalpyse didn't stop as the ship began to rip into two. The left side was still firing on the bridge leaving massive breaches in the station. The right side was completely deactivated and was barrelling towards the atmosphere where it would hopefully burn up. The fighters dipped in between the remaining side blowing up wherever they could land their missiles. Their fighters fought them to the nail as each one of the enemy fighters was destroyed.

The left side burned and exploded as the guns finally silenced. However, the danger was not over as the left side smashed into the station ripping off part of the disc. It flipped to the side as it entered the atmosphere sideways. The right side was burning up as it plummeted deep into the Ascari Ocean.  The fighter detachments roared their engines as they too entered the atmosphere as they had to try and break up the remaining ship so it would minimize casualties. The contact of the right side was monitored and recorded to hit the ocean at exactly 4:56 pm SET (Scelforian Eastern Time). It hit in one of the deepest areas of the ocean as it was tracked sinking at least 11,000 meters. The fighters hovered around like a group of gnats around water. Eventually, the orders were given and they were to return to the station. 

On the other side of the ocean, the left side continued to fall with the maintenance portion of the disc. The fighters had disintegrated the disc but the ship was proving hard to rip into smaller pieces. They had tracked the trajectory and it was going to hit a port city with a population of 22 million. They managed to rip off around half and break that down but they were too late as the large debris smashed into the city killing hundreds of thousands instantly. It ripped through the skyscrapers toppling more and more buildings. Eventually, it came to a stop just on the outskirts of the city. The fighters flew throughout the city flying in between buildings. They all roared upward and back towards the station as the Marines with gunships and jeeps rolled in with rescue teams and resources. The time that the left side hit the surface was 5:32 pm (SET). in total, the Apocalypse had killed 9, 042, 454 people. It had brought the Scelforians back to square one with over 9 million soldiers stuck on Scelfor II with no reinforcements. We would have to rebuild and advance with all of our operations in order to support the troops that were fighting for civilians freedoms on Scelfor II.
