The Siege of Tankheld Empty
Faction#1PostSubject: The Siege of Tankheld   The Siege of Tankheld EmptyThu Apr 27, 2017 3:54 pm

In the city of Tankheld, the soldiers began to mobilize. Massive engines of war were rumbling through the streets, straight from the mega city's namesake factories up to the giant metal gates of the city walls. Several Badgers, extremely damaged, with claw marks and punctures throughout their sides, quickly rushed back into the city, the gates slowly closing behind the buggies. In the distance, the reason for the Badger's state became clear.

A massive Horde of demons, their blades made from bone and brimstone, charged over the horizon, letting out unearthly screeches as they did. The soldiers hesitated, waiting for the great foe to grow closer to their guns. But, to the human side' surprise, the beasts halted, growling and snarling, yet not advancing. They were only 400 meters away, and yet they did not move to attack. Until one of them began to crouch down, and the rest of the first dozen rows of demons followed.

A sickening cracking and popping noise came from the monsters' backs, as one by one, pairs of tattered, bat-like wings burst painfully from the demons, beginning to flap, lifting the Horde into the sky. The soldiers, terrified by the swarm rising before them, began to fire erratically at the demons, as the ground demons also began to charge once more, trying to reach the gates before they closed.

Among the gunfire of the assault rifles, a single loud revolver shot rang out. Krieg held his pistol arms-length away from him, at the demonic siege forces. "Do not fret men!" The Grand Inquisitor declared valiantly, "The people of Guerre will prevail! Our guns shall put these heathens into a shallow grave of their bretheren's corpses!" His reassurance seemed to resonate with the soldiers, as they did not stop firing their weapons as the heretical devils breached the gates of the city, slicing through several small barricades with their barbaric swords. Tanks began to unleash their weapons upon the ground-based threat, as Vogel VTOLs fluttered in to the fight, engaging the flying monsters that assailed the city of Tankheld.

Krieg pulled his cutlass from its velvet sheath, pointing it towards the enemy, as the metallic screech of a new aircraft filled the sky, a shadow carrying by as it unleashed a flurry of bullets upon he winged swarm of demons, piercing their flesh like it was nothing but wet toilet paper. Krieg admired the new ship, known as the Panthera, before continuing his battle, slashing a smaller Demon in half with his mystic blade.

The Panthera gunship screeched around a corner, blasting several demons who tried to flee. Vogel VTOLs assisted, firing their guns at the bat-like horrors. Meanwhile, on the ground, the demons continued to advance, some dragging a large cannon, firing it at at some small fortifications. A blue ball of unholy flames slammed into the soldiers bunkering under the small wall, nearly vaporizing them. More soldiers quickly moved to replaced fallen troops, but they could not sustain this equilibrium of life and death for long.

Krieg fired his pistol at a Demon carrying the cannon, turning its malignant head into various chunks, causing the cannon to fall to the ground with a foreboding clunk. He shouted to his men, "Tanks! Finish these mongrels! I see at their backs they begin to thin!"

Indeed, the demonic mob was losing its steam; the back of the Horde was obviously less densely packed with demons, and by now only a trickle was coming to add onto the mass breaching the gates. Krieg stabbed his cutlass into an imp's infant-like skull, killing it instantly. Two more of the baby-sized monsters, both fluttering on wings too small for their chubby bodies, lunged at Krieg. But before the Inquisitor could react, the 'rat-tat-tat' of a Vogel's assault cannons made short work of the beasts, before the VTOL switched its attention back to the aerial invaders.

The Panthera returned to the gates for a mere moment, as it fired off one of its ASMs, sending the missile right into the center of the demonic crowd. The resulting explosion destroyed the cannon, making it burst into ethereal flames. The soldiers of Guerre let out a roar, as they charged, bayonets fixed to their rifles. Tanks began to rumble forward, as did several mechs. Krieg grinned under his mask; "Let us defeat these weaklings!"

The Siege of Tankheld Empty
Faction#3PostSubject: Re: The Siege of Tankheld   The Siege of Tankheld EmptyThu Apr 27, 2017 6:26 pm

The Guerran force continued its advance, with several Vilkas tanks rumbling forwards, firing their scatter shots at the remaining demons, piercing their flesh in the dozens. And yet the demonic forces stood their ground, as archers, with bows made of bone and burnt wood, fired arrows with enchanted obsidian tips. When they made contact with the Vilkas, the light tanks halted, as their interiors filled with a wretched fumes and gases, killing whoever was inside.

Krieg ordered, "Kill those archers, men! By any means necessary you will kill them!" Before firing his pistol at them. The ground rumbled, as another Horde of the dark foe began to seep from the earth near the first mob, catching many of the infantry off guard. Krieg jumped back as a Serpent-bodied beast reached its demented claws towards him in a grasping movement, making Krieg slice off the demon's awful hand, sending it into a flurry of angered and pained screeches.

Meanwhile, hundreds of the new attack force began to develop wings like the first, screaming dementedly as they ascended, axes and scimitars in their scraggly hands. The beasts began to become more coordinated, swarming the VTOL's instead of just flying in random directions, quickly ending the Vogels' assaults. However, they could not catch the Panthera Gunship, as it was too fast for them to actually grab onto. The aircraft continued strafing above the flying swarm, pelting them in a seemingly never-ending rain of heavy lead.

Krieg continued to slash away at the now more coordinated and better-armed demon infantry, as several tanks, Vilkas, by the looks of them, were coming from the same direction as the demons. They were covered in strange black and red growths, skulls on pikes, and other demonic features. "Get the artillery on those tanks!" Krieg shouted out, splitting a Demon warrior's head in two, as several Kanonenhalter Artillery pieces rumbled up, a fair distance away from the battle.

As the artillery fired upon the Demons, reducing many, including the archers halting the tanks, to a fine mix of chunks and mush, a roar came from the demon's side. The monsters halted, taking several steps back. The ground shook, as a truly massive demon rose from the ground on bat-like wings, his horns naturally resembling a sort of tall crown. The Guerran soldiers backed, and the Vilkas halted, as Krieg stepped up to this massive, 25-foot tall demon, glaring it deep in its bright yellow, pupil-less eyes. The Demon lord let out a low growl, tightening its grip on the massive axe it held, with human skulls planted in the weapon's head.

This staredown continued for a moment, before the Demon growled, sluggishly raising his axe, before slamming it down where Krieg was, but missed when the Inquisitor rolled out of the way, firing a round from his revolver into the beast's chest. Unaffected, the Demon Lord let out an echoing roar, letting his demons charge once again. As they did , the Guerran military forces began their defense once again, releasing thousands of bullets per second upon the dark foe's forces.

Meanwhile, the flying forces now began to descend upon the infantry, tearing them to pieces in places. Tanks fired on the low-flying predators, but were not enough to finish them. The aerial assault continued, as the Panthera finally reached the battle once again, laying down support for both Krieg and the other soldiers, firing on both the flying demons and the Lord. "This is the Panthera" a voice said through a communicator in Krieg's helmet, "Move away and we can send that thing to Kingdom come."

Krieg said nothing, as he ran at the Lord, jumping at him with Cutlass pointing towards the beast's bare chest. The lord roared angrily as the blade stabbed into him. The Grand Inquisitor held onto his cutlass, twisting it in the demon's flesh. As the monstrous demon lord turned away from the incoming gunship, Krieg shouted into his communicator, "Fire now!"

The gunship did not hesitate, as it launched another two missiles into the Demon Horde, one hitting the Lord directly. The Guerran soldiers seemingly all gasped; they thought their leader had valiantly sacrificed himself to destroy this menace. As the smoke began to clear, Krieg was nowhere in sight, and the demons seemed to have lost their coordinated appearance at the loss of the Demon Lord. This was what the humans were waiting for, as the guard made one last desperate push for victory.

The final push would be harder than the Guerran troops initially thought, as a very large proportion of the demons were still functional enough to fight, but in their disorganized state would be easy pickings for the soldiers. The cannons were mercilessly destroyed by a platoon of advancing Vilkas tanks, as Kanonenhalter platforms released a flurry of shells upon infantry. Another fleet of Vogels has finally arrived, allowing the Panthera to relax slightly, still mowing down aerial assailants in every direction. The VTOLs focused on both, with five of them attacking the remaining flying heathens, while the rest mowed down the remnants of the Horde.

The demons, scarred and bloodied, continued to fight, but hesitation and fear could be seen in their pitch black eyes. The Guerran soldiers advanced hastily, rushing the demons with bayonets extended, stabbing into closest ones several times with no mercy, before retracting and firing at the next row. The Vilkas tanks now rushed in, their shotgun-like turrets taking down dozens of the dark foe's warriors in a single shot. The demonic forces began to fall back, their leader killed, and their morale utterly devastated. By this point, the skies were cleared of the beasts, and the Panthera could now focus on the ground forces. The mighty gunship dropped its last ASM directly in the center of the Horde's mass, nearly destroying it completely. The remaining demons either ran or were shot by the soldiers.

But now, as the battle was won, and the Vilkas rumbled off to defeat any stragglers, the soldiers now mourned the loss of their Grand Inquisitor Krieg. They honored his name, giving a sort of pseudo-prayer. But suddenly, the charred shoulder of the Demon lord's mangled corpse began to shift. Some soldiers noticed this, and began to shout out for help, as they began to lift the mighty arm of the beast up to reveal Krieg, sheathing the Silver Fate to the cheers of an entire city.

"Today is a great victory for the people of Guerre," The Inquisitor declared, "But it is not the last one. The Dark Foe will never cease its treachery, so we will never cease our pursuit to stamp it from this world and a million others! For the Reich, we shall prevail!" He threw his fist to the air, which the soldiers followed in pursuit.

"For the Reich! For Glory!" The Guerran Military forces chanted in happiness, as well as the few non-military people in the city. Krieg held his position strongly, taking in the connection his people had, united under one common goal: the destruction of the Dark Arts throughout the galaxy.
