It was a long drive and many of the supernatural students had fallen asleep in their seats. Kitty had been laid on two seats with Diana by her side. Gavin sat on the row of seats opposite theirs, his arms crossed as he gazed out of the window. The buildings and built up areas turned into grass, trees and smaller roads as the areas they drove through got quieter and quieter. Finally, as the afternoon started to night started to settle in, Silas pulled up at a fairly new looking farmhouse.

Diana was nervously stroking Kitty's hair,  her sister was still out of it. After they had managed to close and bandage the wound they had to use an iv to get the blood into her,  they used Diana's considering both sisters we're still half human so it was sufficient.  Still,  Kitty's heart was still beating much too slow for Diana's liking and she still didn't have much color in her face.  

"Are we almost there Silas?" "Stop hounding him Dia." Diana jumped in her seat,  her eyes quickly darting to her sister who had a weak smirk on her face.  "You're awake! " "Yeah,  seems so.  What happened after I was shot? "

Poking his head out from behind Silas' seat, Mizol examined the farmhouse with giant flickering eyes. To most it would seem he was merely wondering who's house it was, but in reality he'd actually never seen a house like this one before. On his homeworld they lived in rough wooden huts and towers, whilst in the city surrounding the Academy everyone lived in house of metal and glass. The house before him seemed to sit somewhere between the two extremes and that fascinated him.

"Human friend hut?" The part where a normal beings eyebrows would be raised on Mizol's face as he pointed to the farmhouse, looking at Silas in the process.

Silas parked the coach right outside the property, turning off the engine.
"Yeah" he said in reply to Mizol. "It's not really a hut, more of a farmhouse. Humans don't build them anymore in the city, but out here.. no one really cares. Looks like our friend prefers the more peaceful life now." Silas got up from his seat and walked over to the passengers, checking on everyone.

Gavin was at this point standing beside Kitty and Diana.
"What happened was we escaped. Looks like these kids are some help after all." He replied to Kitty, looking over at the specific Meta-Human that had generated the portal to help them escape.
"The Spartan that attacked us," he continued looking back at Kitty, "whoever he is, he's affiliated with ONI for certain. I saw their logo on his torso, no doubt."

Silas arrived by his side. "Oh look, she's up." He said with a smile, after which he addressed the rest of the group inside the coach. "Everyone stay put, it's cold out. I'll knock on the old man's door to see if he can offer us any space to stay." He then looked back down at the three. "Be right back." He said as he put Mizol down next to them.

Diana carefully helped Kitty out of the car,  who kept swatting at her and saying she didn't need help. "As much as I'd like to let you walk on your own then watch you fall flat on your face, I'm not going to because your injured. " Kitty glared at Diana,  keeping an arm around her shoulder and leaning on her. Kitty's leg hadn't healed properly either because of the deadblood,  it would be a couple hours before she could walk on her own.  Kitty glanced down at Mizol,  giving him a small smile and a nod.  "Thanks for that back there at the house little buddy. " Then Kitty's eyes widened and her head jerked up,  sniffing the air for a moment. "No way... Silas brought us to him?!" 

Kitty groaned, "I just wanted to nap for an hour while everything healed,  not get cigar smoke in my face and yelling in my ear. "

"Farm... house..." Mizol played with the word on the tip of his tongue, dissecting it to work out the two words combined. By the time he'd finish toying with the word Kitty came by and spoke to him. "Human is welcome." He then smiled brightly up at the vampire, thrilled that she was still alive after the chaos at the house.

Before moving Mizol glanced to the back of the coach and noticed the Academy's headmistress, Jaya Almis, asleep across two seats. There was atleast one injury he could see bandaged up, but clearly there was enough to have her requiring rest. Saddened by the state of his teacher Mizol lowered his head slightly, eventually turning to the door and awaiting Gavin's signal to go in to the... Farm... House...

The door to the house opened and both Silas and Gavin were greeted by the sight of Apone.
"Wait, Apone?" Gavin said, surprised.
"Yeah? Why's that a surprise?"
"Nothing, I just... I'm surprised to see you're still alive."
Silas chuckled.
"Boy, why don't I step out there and make you see how much life-"
"Okay okay, enough of the pleasantries." Silas said with a grin on his face. Apone turned to face him.
"Look, I know it's a bit much to ask but, you heard about what happened right? The Knight's Initiative?"
"I got cable, yeah. Saw you and... holy cow, there's two of 'em?!" Apone said as he spotted Kitty and Diana, his eyes going back and forth between the two.
Gavin looked at them and then back at Apone. "Yeah, turns out she has a twin. It's double the pain, I know. Look, the Knight's Initiative, their leader's with us. She's her daughter. And we have around 40 students in our coach behind us-"
"Forty!? Boy does this look like a hotel to you?"
"No no," Silas interrupted. "We're not asking for the house, just the barn." Silas said as he gestured to the large structure located a few meters away from the house.

At this point, one of the Meta-Humans, Solaris, had stepped out of the coach. Some of his friends followed and peered out of the door to see what was going on. Apone caught sight of him, and saw that some of them were injured. His stern expression at this point turned soft.
"Very well. Get em all inside the barn, I'll be there in a few minutes." He said as he went back into the house.

It sat in its ship as it was in warp. The swirl of colors as it past through the solar systems, the suns, and anything that showed up on radar. As the ship came closer," Leaving warp..." the computer said as the ship left warp. Then things got really awkward, the sun was in a different position than what the radar had set. A flare on the sun flicked at the ship damaging the side of it. The pilot thinking fast used an escape warp to leave the pull of the sun and make its way towards Earth.

" that was awkward..."


it said as the ship flew towards Earth. the Nypherian watched the system information. The ship was badly damaged and there was a chance if the ship entered orbit. It would destroy the ship. the Nypherian went ahead with its mission and flew towards Earth. Using the computer, it hacked into the backdoor that was installed and made it look invisible on the humans radar. "at least don't look out the window...don't worry. just a harmless trader.. "


As it began to enter the atmosphere. A loud bang shook the ship and smoke began to billow out of the back of it.As it left the Atmosphere, the ship began to spin and a fire broke out on the side of the ship. The drive module exploded sending a large Shockwave. The could be heard for miles as it crashed into the ground. The Nypherian kicked the covering off as it jumped out of the ship. The force was terrible and it caused it's human illusion to finish which revealed it's true identity.  A human like machine. using its explosives on board. It detonated on the ship to make sure the humans couldn't get its technology. that explosion was also very loud.

" this is just embarrassing..." it grumbled as it began to walk towards the last known location of the group

"Yes there are two of us Cancer Breath, double bubble boil and trouble."  Kitty rolled her eyes at Apone, and Diana tried to hold back a snicker. "I don't think that's how it goes Sis." "And I don't think I asked your opinion blondie." "Testy Testy, you're just sore over the fact that I can pull off blonde and you can't." "We have the same face you moron." "Yeah well mine is better, I haven't been punched in it like a billion times." "I'll punch it in for you a billion times." "Go ahead." Diana dropped her sister then and Kitty hit the ground with a grunt. 

Diana looked down at her sister with a grin, "Come on KitKat, lay one on me. Right between the eyes, c'mon you can do it!" "I hate you and your existence. I wish I was an only child."

Mizol came out of the coach behind Solaris and the others, examining the land around. Although still learning about the spiritual arts he could hear them sometimes. Right now they seemed to be pointing out something odd in the distance. It was foreign yet familiar to this world. However he also got the feeling it was no threat, which allowed him to continue forward to the farmhouse without worry.

"Humans fight alot?" Mizol looked at the two sisters as he went past before reaching the door to look up at Apone. 

"Human Elder? Mizol is honored to receive shelter." The Grompin then bowed his head slightly, which in turn meant his whole body bent down.

Silas looked down at the small alien.
"Yeah, he's quite old. Used to be much healthier back in his day. Guess we all reach that stage someday.."
"Look who's talking." Gavin said. "You're a vampire, you've been around for centuries and you still look in your prime."

Ten minutes later, everyone was in the barn adjacent to the house. There were only a few animals inside, but most were idle or asleep. Apone had managed to spare some bed sheets, blankets and pillows but it was not enough for all 40 of the supernaturals. Soon, it was one of the younger vampires that came up with the idea of reusing some hay to give everyone else a place to lie down.
Apone kept the place warm with multiple heaters placed in different areas around the barn. The supernaturals chatted to each other quietly, seeming to be at peace for the first time since their arrests.

Meanwhile inside the house, Silas and Gavin chatted with Apone about recent events. Apone had also invited Kitty and Diana in to help his wife Kristen with the cooking for the family and the rest of the supernaturals.

Kitty and Diana nodded,  walking into the kitchen and greeting Kristen. "Hello Kristen. " It was vaguely creepy when the both of them said it at the same time.  Kitty walked over to Kristen,  taking a peek at what she was making. "You want some help?" Kitty asked,  and Diana took a peek as well.  "What are you making? "

He stopped in front of a mansion. it let out a sigh as this was either the worst choice to hide in or the local authorities are clowns. Either way, it's ship crashing would have garnered enough attention for it to slip away. Thpigh, having an alien ship enter the planet without being detected until the crash, it probably would freak out any authority. it kept walking until it came close enough as it could peer into the window. It spotted the ground as one was clearly injured and the others were trying to relax and figure a plan out. It turned around and looked back at the ships flying towards the crash site. " could buy time...but I'm cut off from the network. I need a way in."

It walked towards the door and looked at the handle. How primitive as it glanced around for a computer switch to open it automatically." do I have to..  twist it?" it mumbled to itself as it touched the door knob. It only moved a bit until the lock stopped the handle from turning.

"really..."

well, it's robotic appearance would be the more shocking thing than breaking someone's door. It simply twisted the handle with a loud snap and the handle came right out. "oops...so clumsy of me...", as it walked in. Finally it's nanites came back on as its human appearance turned back on. Hiding it's robotic appearance and it continued with its mission. it walked into the room casually as it looked up everyone. 

"This is an odd choice to hide in." it simply stated out loud.

Although not invited to the meeting in the house, Mizol had managed to stick around due to his small size which made him easy to forget about. The twins went into the kitchen whilst the male humans all gathered to converse in another room. Of the two options he had Mizol chose to listen to the men. On his way however he noticed another human had entered and spoke.

"This is an odd choice to hide in."


Mizol tilted his head and stared up at the man. Something was off about him, the spirits could feel it, but he was unsure what exactly. He brushed it off as him being supernatural and flashed the newcomer a smile.
"Mizol think humans make good move," His webbed hand gesture to the house around them. "House is far from city. Soldiers no come here."

Jaya awoke to find herself lain upon a bundle of hay in some kind of barnhouse. Around her were the students from her academy, all conversing between themselves merrily until they noticed her rising. As she sat up the kids smiled, a few even coming over to check on her. There was a boy who had been by her side all the time, one she recognized as a young Nephilim; half-angel, half-human. He had been tending to her wounds with his healing powers, or what little he had.

"Thank you," Jaya smiled at them all, resting her back upright against some more hay. By her side lay Blightslayer within it's sheathe. The students knew better than to touch it thankfully.

Once her vision fully recovered she noticed none of the others such as her mother or Gavin were around. A girl to her right noticed her looking and explained for her:

"They're in the house," Her hand then rested on Jaya's shoulder. "But you still need to rest."

To that Jaya simply nodded and smiled, leaning back again whilst clutching the scar on her arm.

"Steak" Kristen replied to the twins with a friendly smile. She looked between the two, her eyes resting on Diana.
"And you're... the other one? I don't believe we've met." She said in a polite tone as she held her hand out to shake. After this she gestured over to another counter.
"If you two insist on helping, I'll need help cutting up the meat and seasoning it. Maybe you two could divide the task up between yourselves?"
Kitty would then feel a tug at her legs and see a toddler, around 3 years of age, standing by her using her leg to lean on. The toddler started to babble incoherent baby language as he looked up at her.
Kristen was tending to the dishes when she heard her son, causing her to turn around and look down.
"Jeffery! Shouldn't you be in bed young man?" She said as she walked over and picked him up.
"Even your baby sister knows when it's time to sleep and when it's time to make noise!"
Jeffery immediately tried to pull her hair, clearly annoyed by this.
"Sorry," Kristen said to Kitty before walking off to put him to bed.

Apone, Silas and Gavin watched as Kristen exited the kitchen, heading up the stairs to put Jeffery back to bed.
"Damn, you two look like you've been busy." Silas commented.
"Yeah, we got two of 'em." Apone replied.
"Two? Must be a handful." Gavin said. This caused Apone to chuckle.
"Haha, nothing like an old sergeant like me couldn't deal with."
Gavin looked at him. "You miss the corps Apone?"
Apone looked back, before walking over to the nearest cabinet and fetching a bottle of wine with three glasses.
"Nah, I did my time and that's that. Besides the corps don't have no place for an old thing like me no more." Apone set the three glasses down and poured an equal amount of wine in each.
"After what happened, I knew I was done. So did she." He continued as he handed the men their drinks and sipped on his glass. Even the very thought of Haven made him uncomfortable, let alone mentioning its name. He had lost a lot of friends that way, evaded death countless times. And somehow, against impossible odds they had still made it. Something about that didn't sit well with him, and he preferred to ignore the topic completely.
Gavin noticed his silence and decided to liven the mood.
"So, noticed you don't do the cigars anymore. What, you retired from that too?"
Apone grinned. "Pretty much, the missus don't want the kids doin' any of that. She thinks I'd set a bad example. Don't even let me keep em hidden around."
Silas chuckled slightly. "She's right man, it isn't."
Gavin finished his drink.
"But come on, not even as a souvenir?" He said.
"Oh I got souvenirs, not a lot but still." Apone downed his drink as well.
"Where?"
"Locked away in the basement."
"Come on then, let's take a look. Old time's sake, eh?" Gavin insisted.
Apone looked at him, and chuckled again. "Follow me."

Unbeknownst to them, as they disappeared into the basement, a stranger had walked into the house just after they left.

Solaris was gathered with his other three friends before he noticed Jaya waking up. He arrived by her side just in time to hear the Nephilim tell her to rest. His friends joined him by his sides.
"Are you okay miss?" He asked her, his expression showing worry.

It stopped as it looked around. It noticed as everyone were in different sections of the house. Some were in the kitchen, some had walked down stairs, and some where in other places. There were spread out, if attacked and caught off guard. they could be at a huge disadvantage. It's concentration was broken at the creatures response to its statement . It looked down at the creature.

" Where or when are irrelevant. If they're still on the planet. They will still look for them. Reason and logic would be leaving the system be the safest course of action. " 

it said as it walked past the creature . A large portion of the people where clueless that hit was here. This only told him how easily they could be caught off guard or attacked.it immediately began to scan and look for a computer. It paused as one was found on the other side of the house. There were also magic users nearby and that effected the nanites  on its body. causing a ripple like effect. like someone tossed a rock in the lake. Ripples shot across its body, evident enough that this wasn't a human.

Kitty looked down at the toddler, giving him a warm smile and waving her hand at Kristen. "It's fine, I like kids. He's an adorable little bugger." She made a silly face at him for a moment, sticking her tongue out and crossing her eyes. Even Diana chuckled as she began chopping up and seasoning the meat, delighted to see Kitty happy instead of sad and angry. "Of course you like kids, you've had what? 20? 25?" The red head glared at the blonde, throwing some seasoning at her which only caused Diana to chuckle. 

When Kristen went to go put Jeffery back upstairs Kitty set out to help Diana, until she heard someone talking in the other room. Her hand tightened its grip on the knife, walking briskly out of the kitchen and throwing it within an inch of the strangers head. "Who the hell are you?" Then her eyes flicked down to Mizol briefly. "Mizol get away from him. He's not one of the students." She sniffed the air, he didn't smell entirely human to her.

"Hmm," Mizol scratched his chin in thought. "Mizol think humans not want to leave. Humans want to fight. Protect students." He nodded as he came to his conclusion, only being interrupted by Kitty's entrance. At first he simply looked up at her in confusion, but when he looked back at the man the ripples on his form were clear. Quickly the Grompin ran between Kitty's legs and then began climbing up her before hanging onto her shoulder. From there he narrowed his eyes at the intruder.

"Stranger," He said. "What doing here?"

"Yes, thank you," She smiled to Solaris who had just come over, letting out a small breathe of air as she adjusted her lying position. 

"What's your name?" Jaya asked him, narrowing her eyes but still smiling. She didn't recognize this one, which was not impossible considering the size of the academy and how busy she'd been since it's opening.

Meanwhile in the basement, Apone showed Gavin and Silas around the small area. There were some farming supplies as well as food and drink. What stood out was the left side of the room where a bunch of UNSC weapons and two uniforms decorated with badges stood like a makeshift trophy case.
"Someone's nostalgic," Silas commented as he examined the weapons and uniform, the glass of wine still in his hand and half empty at this point.
Gavin walked up to the display and examined each weapon and medal.
"He's not the only one. Takes me back five years, just looking at this." He said. It wasn't a lie, the memories of all the adventures he'd been on years ago washed over him like a wave. Him, Aaron, Kitty, Dustin, the crew of the Harbinger. They struggled, they fought and strove. They saved planets and the entire galaxy on multiple occasions. They lived through pain, lots of pain but deep down Gavin enjoyed the moments they spent together. They were the closest thing he had to family. Kitty was like a sister to him, Dustin like a younger brother and Aaron he felt was their sword and shield.
Now everything had changed. Kitty wasn't the same anymore, Dustin had disappeared and Aaron was dead. The crew of the Harbinger died on Haven and once again Gavin felt alone.

Gavin was snapped out of his reminiscence when he felt Silas's hand on his shoulder.
"You okay there?"
Gavin looked back at him. Apone moved to pick up one of the weapons, his old shotgun. Gavin cleared his throat.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Silas looked at his cheek and it was at that point Gavin realised a tear fell from his left eye. Quickly, he wiped it away.
"I'm good." He said with a sniff, looking back at the display. Apone blew dust out of the barrel of the shotgun.
"These need a clean for sure." He said as he looked down the barrel. Gavin moved back to the display and examined each weapon. He could distinguish Kristen's sidearm out of the bunch. Each serviceman had their own engravings, their own marks on their weapons depending on how long they had them for; however small said marks were. Apone's had a lot and Kristen's had none due to her role as a Commander back then requiring her to pilot ships more than fire weapons. However there was one peculiar pistol that caught his eye, one that was set in the very corner of the display. He picked it up, blowing the dust off and examined it.
And then instantly, more memories flooded his brain. Armageddon. Rha 'Mantakree. Draetheus, Benedict. This pistol was used in all of those engagements, for years. Another flashback and he saw an armoured hand grasping the grip of the pistol, firing it.
It was Aaron's.

"I'm Solaris." He replied.
"I was only at the school for a few weeks before... you know." He looked away. There was a brief pause before he asked her a question that had been lingering on his mind for a long time.
"Do you think it's true? What they say? I mean, I know it's not but do you think we had terrorists disguised as students at the school without knowing it?"

As they conversed, a particular student approached them. She had the appearance of a fairy, only much larger. The size of a 13 year old, however her features made her out to be in her late teens. The winged individual approached Jaya and held out her pillows, offering her to put them underneath her head.

The blade hit the wall as the Nypherian stopped and looked at the blade. It grasped the handle and pulled it out the wall. He flipped and held the blade and handed it back towards the girl. " This individual has a 1,000 digit code. That would take too long to tell. So you can call me Zeta if you like. As who what I am, I am Nypherian. "  The nanites dispelled again as the magic in the area caused them to vanished which revealed that it was a humanoid like machine. It walked over to the computer and pulled a cord from its neck and connected it to the comupter.

On the screen of the computer words in a different language popped up and scrolled upwards." Connecting...backdoor access. Root window downloading information." It said as it downloaded information. " connecting to server...connected. requesting permissions...granted. " it turned towards the group.

" I'm here to help. With the growing escalation of the Demonic Kingdom and the most likely fall of the Heaven Kingdom. There is a 90% chance the Demonic Kingdom will attack the Humans. Most course of action should be to leave the system. The pursuers aren't your only issue if our calculations are correct as war will make things more difficult."

She took the blade from him, a scowl on her face and fire in her eyes. "I've never heard of Nypherians." Fire curled around the knife she held in her hand, "I can handle demons just fine, as can most of the people here if they learn to. We aren't leaving this system." Kitty was careful to not let the fire crawl up her arm or to her shoulder, she did not know if Mizol was fireproof. Mizol! Kitty scanned Zeta once more, taking into account his humanoid machine appearance. 

"Mizol go to the barn and get Temperance. Long almost white blonde hair, electric blue eyes, probably standing next to a girl with black and red hair in a leather jacket and sunglasses." With her daughter's electricity based powers, Temperance was most likely the best defense against this machine.
