Diana quickly threw up her arms and an ice shield, although this did little to protect her from the blast. The plasma easily melted through her shield, burning her arms severely and throwing her back into the wall with the force of the blast. Her head cracked against the ice, letting out a grunt as she started seeing double as she slid down the wall. 

She turned her bleeding head, seeing the jackal sprinting the exit. She raised a hand, but didn't know which vision to hit. She decided to just hit them both in the back, summoning two ice spikes from the wall and throwing them forward.

The Jackal Mistress's speed exceeded that of Diana's attack and she managed to get away, joining her brethren and heading towards the exit.
"Our prize has been taken! Leave these caves and we shall commence orbital bombardment!"
The other Jackals nodded and all of them collectively took off, exiting the mouth of the cave and almost reaching daylight before said light was blocked off by three towering figures.
"Whoops, excuse us" Sebastian said as he, Kalashnikov and Masterson opened fire on the group. The ensuing firefight lasted only a few seconds - the Spartans' aiming were precise and deadly, taking down each and every Jackal within seconds including the Jackal Mistress.
"Let's keep moving down, they may need our help down there." Sebastian said. The other two nodded and they proceeded to move into the caves.

"Acknowledged Dumont, good work. We'll take care of the ship from here, you just focus on getting groundside and providing extraction." The Admiral said.
"MAC Canon has reloaded and re-charged sir." Selina announced with a devilish grin.
The Admiral turned from his tablet and looked through the main viewing glass.
"Then send those bastards back to hell."
And just as he said that, the UNSC Liberty fired its MAC round. The 600-ton depleted uranium slug penetrated the last CCS Battlecruiser at a velocity impossible to perceive, gutting the ship from stem-to-stem.

By the time Jack recovered himself the fighting was almost done, rendering his newly gained weapon rather useless. Either way he was no use to the fight in his current state, exhausted from the grand use of his enhanced powers. Instead he simply slumped down, nodding to anyone who asked that he was alright. His hand supported him from falling completely to the ground.

Meanwhile Scruff and his team were retreating from the chamber, cleaning up the few covenant left from their engagement. By the time they were done the fighting had died down in the rest of the caves, and so they retreated back out to the entrance with the others.
"Drop ships incoming," He called as he looked outside, seeing them break the clouds and zoom towards them.

Diana managed to pull herself to her feet, ignoring the throbbing in the back of her head. She was already healing and the dizziness and nausea was fading. She picked her swords up from the ground, wincing when she had to bend her burnt arms to sheath them behind her back.

She ignored Jack's nod that he was alright, walking over to him and offering him a hand. "Thanks for the save back there anklebitter. I nearly screwed us with my little stunt." A sheepish grin replaced the smirk on her face, her other burnt hand scratching the back of her neck. "Honestly that's something my sister would pull."

By the time the ODSTs and Marines were pushing the carts out of the cave, the Spartans managed to run into them and Kalashnikov and Masterson lent a helping hand.
Meanwhile Sebastian had proceeded down the cave and caught sight of Diana and Jack.
"Looks like we missed the party. Oh well, guess that's my RnR done for the rest of the month." He said with a smirk.
"C'mon, let's get outta here."

As the dropships came down they signalled up to Dumont of their arrival and the survival of the ground team.
"Excellent work everyone," He broadcast through comms, before switching directly to Admiral Yusuf. "Zaron is secured sir, all high value personnel alive." His bridge crew applauded together, congratulating each other on the missions success.

"Let's get home everyone. Dumont out."
