Appearance
The dwarfish Solsasians usually look one and the same,some have differing skin-tones while other's have different ear lengths or shapes.
The Solsasians are entirely hairless with black beady eyes,their short humanlike mouths being one of the few defining facial features they have besides their eyes.Their button ears adding to the almost nonthreatening appearance.
Solsasian gender is usually determined by their skin tone,males are usually darker shades of brown/grey/clay while the females are lighter shades of the same colours.The Solsasians don't have much in the way of external reproductive organs making this method one of the best ways to determine their gender.
The other method is by voice where Solsasian males have an lighter pitch while females and heaver pitch. {Which may seem surprising to other races}
Culture
Solsasian culture revolves around science,the best and brightest are usually the most popular and rich in their communities and they hold education and computing in high regard.They are not popular as friends if you do not constantly try to prove your intelligence as the dwarfish creatures have rather large egos.
Most Solsasians are atheistic at best preferring science over mystical or magical beliefs much to the ire of the ruling Varanus.
Most Solsasian children begin school at an early age forming strong bonds of friendship with their fellow students who usually end up becoming their studymates and co-researchers.Romance to Solsasians are usually materialistic and tend to be about who invented or build something that caught the eye of the one in love.
Solsasians tend to shy away from physical labour leaving it to robotic servants or other more physically adept servants.
The Solsasians tend to cremate their dead and use their ashes as fertilizer in well-kept "family gardens"
Under the Imperium the Solsasians face decent living conditions but are socially discriminated due to their hand in the Sigma Wars.
History
The Solsasians once controlled most of the Sigma Draconus galaxy/Andromeda before their AI turned rogue and brought the destruction of their society with the eventual alliance of the Varanus and Xaerrians.
Most of the Solsasian worlds where destroyed and the race flocked to whatever planet accepted them,however because of their hand in the war they where treated poorly.Most ended up prosecuted or where forced to accept the lowest living conditions.Times were tough for the Solsasians and when the Imperium rose to power their were offered an choice.
Either they earn their redemption by slaving away in Imperial labs developing the technology the Imperium needed to carry out the "Mors-Directive." Or to remain under the conditions the Confederacy imposed on them.The Solsasians chose the former and assisted the Imperium's scientests into the development of the Arch-3 and 4 Wormhole generators.
When the Imperium arrived in the Milky Way,the few Solsasians who joined them quickly aided the Varanus in retrofitting the fallen Ark into an mighty fortress.Because of their deeds the Solsasians earned the rights of an Imperial citizen,however despite this achievement they still face discrimination from the older and more arrogant Varanidae.
