Water resistant does not mean water proof.
Any hole in a wall negates the infra red and thermal canceling properties as heat can then be picked up from inside the tent.
Not insulated so not viable in cold weather conditions.  The amount of battery power needed to mask a heat signature of a heated tent is just not feasible. 

Description

The LDV Field Tent was designed and manufacted by LT. Dan'l Voxic after a sniping mission had him laying outside cold and wet for four days.  The tent itself offers no physical protection but does grant protection from wind and rain as well as a sophisticated level of protection from detection.  The tent consists of a battery pack weighing ten pounds that is attached to the inside of the tent.  The tent itself weighs fifteen and a half pounds and can easily fit inside a child's backpack.  The only other equipment needed are the small assortment of poles and stakes coated with the same material as the tent itself.

As far as size goes the tent is small.  The tent was designed by a dwarf for a dwarf.  It was designed for one occupant and a small amount of gear and nothing more.  It serves this purpose well.
