Miva, home of the Crimson Legion Empty
Faction#1PostSubject: Miva, home of the Crimson Legion   Miva, home of the Crimson Legion EmptyWed Mar 08, 2017 7:30 pm

Ryckert was king, and this moon was his kingdom. For years he worked as a gun for hire, traversing the galaxy, hunting, killing, trapping, hell, a few of those times even guarding a couple of clients. It had been fun, for a time, Ryckert didn’t have to worry about responsibility, caring for someone, or the thousand other things a good citizen of a galactic empire had to worry about, but life had a funny way of catching up to Ryckert. Apparently killing and catching criminals was a good way of getting crime syndicates to look at you as a problem, and Ryckert had angered a lot of them. All of a sudden his name kept coming up in black market bounties, set up by crime bosses, a few times by corrupt politicians, to bring Ryckert’s dead body back for a hefty sum.

This had made Ryckert’s job a little harder at first, a few no name bounty hunters coming after him was good for target practice, but soon the professional began coming, and brother, they came in force. Ryckert was no longer a mercenary, no longer a well-respected bounty hunter with an impeccable reputation, now he was a fugitive from the long grasp of the criminal underworld. Ryckert hid in the fringes of the galaxy, jumping from planet to planet in an attempt to stay one step ahead of his pursuers. The cycle appeared never ending, he began to take bigger and bigger risks, even hiding out in the remnants of demonic space. In Ryckert’s lowest point, in his most desperate, loneliest moment, luck gazed upon him.

Ryckert hid in demon space from his would be killers, though it wasn’t the mercenaries that found him, but a giant demon raiding vessel, and it set its eyes on his ship. What followed was a tense pursuit throughout space, with Ryckert using his FLT drives to try and out run them, but somehow the demon ship could follow him through the slip stream. Desperate, knowing what the demons were capable of with a prisoner, Ryckert jumped into unknown space, hoping they would not follow into uncharted space. They did, but it would be the demons folly. Ryckert jumped into the orbit of what appeared to be a gas giant planet, which sent his ship’s onboard systems into haywire. Something was jamming his signals and messing with the internal mechanics. Ryckert had trouble getting control back of his ship, but he managed a relatively safe landing on one of the planets moons. The Demon ship did not fare so well. Its systems went to shit and began a quick fall into the gas giant, some smaller ships attempted to undock and escape, but it was too late, they were in the planets gravity and were pulled in to their fiery doom.

After landing in the moon Ryckert attempted to figure out where he was, but there were no maps for the area of the galaxy he was in. Ryckert could find his way back, but he wanted to know just where the hell he was. After making sure the atmosphere was safe for him, Ryckert stepped out of his ship and began to explore the moon, he needed to fix his ship and gather supplies, and what he found completely changed his life. A small blip came into his radar, signaling some form of civilization. Ryckert followed it through the dense brush of the jungle until he came to the outskirts of an abandoned city.

The city was huge, filled with parks, boulevards, skyscrapers, different types of buildings, and homes. It was evenly divided into districts, and there was a giant spire in the center of it all. Ryckert made the spire his destination, noticing on his way there how quiet and empty the city was. On his walk to the spire, Ryckert was sure he saw some spider looking creature from the corner of his eye, but every time he turned to look there was nothing but the complete emptiness. Ryckert wondered how the city managed to stay in such a pristine condition, there was no trash, no damage to the buildings, everything was perfect. This was unsettling, but Ryckert knew there wasn’t going to be any answers until he got to that spire, it was clearly some sort of central hub, maybe there would be someone there, someone to help him, or made to help him.

Ryckert did reach the spire that day, and made it to the top. In there he learned a lot of secrets, like the name of the Moon, Avos, and the name of the city, Miva, but those two were the only things Ryckert shared with anyone, everything else he kept to himself. After a few days Ryckert had a legion of spider bots at his disposal, the android creatures that had been designed to take care of the city and its surrounding perimeter. They only listened to him, and it was what Ryckert used to maintain order once he began sending out invitations to those willing to pay for safe harbor. Soon the city was booming, it became known as a Neutral space in a war torn galaxy. Any giant war cruiser or military ship was quickly downed by the planet’s strange jamming signal, keeping the governments of the galaxy at bay, though most didn’t bother with Ryckert’s moon.

Every criminal organization had a base here, selling everything from legal to illegal, and Ryckert got a cut from everything. He was king and he liked it, but he knew it wouldn’t last, someone would want to take the city for themselves, and his spider bots could only do so much even if it appeared like there was a never ending stream of them coming from the tunnel under the city. Ryckert would have to form a group, a military, to help him keep control of his city, and who knows, maybe even a little more further down the line.
