The Ancient Reverse Spell Empty
Private#1PostSubject: The Ancient Reverse Spell   The Ancient Reverse Spell EmptyWed Mar 08, 2017 3:50 am

The characters are Michel and Juna Russel. Michel is a guard and his wife is a florist. She specializes in toxic species. Wynnter overheard their conversation while they were at a marketplace.

Wynnter wrapped her hands around the small white pearl, making sure that it could never slip through her fingers. The small buldge could be through her skin, since she was slightly translucent. She stared down at it, wondering why some people valued such a tiny part of life over other more important things. After fiddling with it for a while she threw it back into the pile of the rest of them.

She was in a marketplace, where, she didn't know. That happened a lot, being a ghost and all. She would just wonder around and find herself in places where she never seen before. It was amazing but the only weird part about it was that most of the time people could still use all six senses to detect her. Luckily she was getting better at controlling her powers so she could hide herself in case she needed to.

The marketplace was quite large, maybe about eight acres in size. She only seen about one third of that but she wasn't complaining. Her feet were already starting to blister in her sandals. She hated wearing sandals or any lady-like shoes. They weren't made for comfort but for looks, most of the time. Wynnter made a note to remind herself to purchase boots later.

The spirit left the ore section of the market, walking around and studying weapons, armor, and other foreign things. Being a spirit was hard since she could still smell and taste things but her mouth would immediately start to burn away until she spit every last piece out. It also made everything taste and smell as awful as it was good so she made sure not to come to close to a food stall. Once she passed a pastry booth and sprinted in the opposite direction, grasping her nose.

It was when she was avoiding the fragrance section when she overheard a piece of the conversation. She was about to speak to a trickster merchant about one of his foul-smelling potions, which pleased her senses, when someone bumped into her and apologized. Wynnter turned her head, looking up at the tall burly man wearing a guard uniform and standing very close to a small plump woman in a pretty burgundy dress. The woman eyed her before whispering, "See, you're clumsy as your father."

Wynnter blushed, feeling bad for the man with the harsh wife. She could've moved out of the way but sometimes she forgot that she wasn't invisible. She nodded curtly at the woman when she glanced her way again. She pretended not to notice when the woman looped elbows with the guard and threw her head back. The elf had no feelings for the man and she didn't think she was pretty either way.

But being curious she followed behind them, hiding only once to turn invisible so she could follow them with no worry. The couple kept talking and it took a while in the crowded market to catch up. Wynnter didn't remember the spell to mask her from the their six sense but she decided to that they would have a strong one anyway for it to really matter.

The woman, after briefly looking at a jar of foreign spices, said to her husband, "Why don't you buy anything for me anymore?"

The man, eyebrows creased, replied, "I can't help not having enough money, lo-"

"NO-I mean, stop making excuse!" she hissed, glancing around at people who had heard the outburst and stared. They looked away, not wanting to be the victim of her ferocity. She glared behind her suddenly but her eye couldn't quite focus on something strange in the crowd. She shrugged and turned back, looking up at her husband.

"We can't afford everything-"

"I don't want everything, I just want something special from my husband. It doesn't even have to be anything big and expensive!" The man swallowed hard and turned red, looking away angrily. He was embarrassed because he was starting to look very selfish.

Wynnter pursed her lips and looked down, almost running into the group of young men walking about. She stopped but the hurriedly sped through them, making sure that she was in full control of her magic. If she lost control while in someone else's body at the same time she was walking through they would both die, body parts all mixed together.

Wynnter watched the couple again, all the time glancing up at the sky. It was still high up in the sky but it was clearly descending. No one was packing up yet so she was safe for now. Her arm brushed up against an old woman who helped in surprise, looking around since where she was it was empty. She squinted around but the spirit ducked behind a stall quickly. The woman and her husband were getting farther and farther so she slipped by the old woman and ran after the couple.

She knew she was close when she heard the guard growl, "I thought you said it could be small and not expensive!"

The woman twirled a finger around a curl in her hair a litke nervously. "Well yes, darling, but...I didn't say ugly...quality is key, as they say..." She went to a jewelry stall and marveled over the items, not bothering on asking the merchant for the prices. There was no point, since she knew that neither she or her husband had enough money to even buy the cheapest thing.

Wynnter watched the woman try on a ruby ring with matching earrings. She looked into a side mirror and went on about how beautiful she would look wearing them and how excellent the craftsman was. The merchant bowed but kept his eyes on her every move, making sure that she wasn't going to steal it. She must have though about since she reluctantly put them back after being asked by the merchants assistant.

"Gifts aren't something that first comes to your mind...what about information? Being a hard working and high ranked guard, darling, should let you in on top secret information, Michel?"

The guard nodded wearily but also like the idea of sharing the information was a good idea. Wynnter suddenly considered him stupid instead of depressed. But if he was going to give out information in a public place like this then she wouldn't miss the opportunity.

It was a good thing too.

The guard asked his wife to follow him and he led her to a section of the marketplace where the empty stalls were. They sat in the back of a strangely large one and talked. At first the gaurd only spoke of the usual, like criminal hiding spots, recent disasters caused by evil forces, and ancient findings discovered by archaeologists. But then he spoke about something that pertained very much to Wynnter, since she was only a ghost because of a curse.

"Recently one of the many scholars found out that there might be an ancient spell that reverses anything, time, curses, creations, blessings, anything. Someone traveled for a long time and came back a year ago with information never heard of. The intelligence if the person who made it was so big above all species known that we think that they were something celestial, I even a god."

By this time both the wife and the elf's eyes were wide with curiosity and awe. It was amazing how this short piece of information could change how someone thought. So many idea were running through her head that at one point Wynnter stpped listening to Michel. But then he mentioned that to get the reverse spell you must speak to a celestial being, or even priest on the whereabouts of the spell scripture. The spirit furrowed her eyebrows and glanced at the opposite tent covering, thinking and planning hard.

"But many say that it might be dark magic and since it does something nearly impossible it could really affect the individual. One theory is that your soul could dwindle away into nonexistence..." Wynnter, having accidentally start to fade back into her body kicked the tent and made the couple sit up abruptly. They watched the place where she was silently.

The woman got up and wrung out her hands, eyes looking around wildly. "This is amazing...um, this can change our lives, literally." She paused to stand up on her toes to peck him on the lips. He blushed, wrapping his arms around her plump waist. "Thank you darling for sharing this with me." she cooed.

They started to get to much for Wynnter so she rushed out of the stall, turning back into her physical form while she walked. But she was more focused on the task at hand. She needed to find out more about the reverse spell, which was different from other ones. This one could fix a spirit, one that also harbored the dark souls of an ancient evil cult. The could only torment her but heightening the effect of her already horrible nightmares, laced with her darkest fears. She shivered at the thought, dialing how dark it was starting to get.

Wynnter rubbed her fist against her palm, a habit when she was thinking far too hard about something and was trying to relax her nerves. While she walked out of the marketplace she whispered to herself, "I need to find a library, somewhere where scholars would be. I don't care how long it takes...or even the consequences..." She was lying though. She did not want her soul, her only proof that she ever existed, to blink away into nothing.

[OOC: Did not expect this at all, dude]
