Strengths

The Kinetic Shield is designed to be a light and easily deployable barrier to make Kyodain Guardians more effective at fighting in close combat thanks. At the press of a button placed in the wearer’s palm, a shield of hard light deploys. It is designed to absorb and dissipate the energy of various attacks, allowing a defender to remain still even after taking a hit that would normally send them flying. Though the barrier can be re-deployed after the it is broken.

Weaknesses

The Kinetic shield is relatively weak compared to shields created of solid materials, and if a substantially strong force strikes the barrier, it may be able to pierce it and destroy the gauntlet which deploys the shield. A bearer of the Kinetic Shield must wait several seconds before the shield can deploy again.

Description

One of the newer inventions by the Tech-Priests aboard Mothership Shisoka, the Kinetic Barrier is an adaptation of Kyodain starship shields on a much smaller scale. It was created with versatility in mind, so users may be able to resize the barrier deployed to their preferences through a screen on the gauntlet. The Kinetic was originally issued to the new branch of Kyodain Guardians for station defense and use in conjunction with their Arc-Batons, but it quickly became popular throughout the Kyodain ranks as a simple tool of self defense without having to react violently with arc-firearms.
