Weaknesses
Can be weakened if enough of his lifeblood is drained through injury.
Immense levels of gamma radiation can mess with his thought-processes which may lead to irrational decisions.
Prolonged exposure to sub-zero temperatures can seize up his joints and over time, render him immobile. If this exposure continues further, he would be forced into a hibernation-like state.

Equipment
It has been noted that the Freelancer carries a wide variety of weaponry and gadgets and because he also owns a ship, it has been speculated that there are many other unseen pieces of weaponry and equipment that he has in store. It should also be noted that the Freelancer carries different combinations of weaponry and equipment at any given time, so he wouldn't carry everything with him at once. Below is a list of weapons and gadgets he has been observed using:

- Forerunner Binary Rifle (Sniper rifle).

- "Freeze cannon" (grenade launcher that disperses ice on impact).

History
The Freelancer was born to a working class family that were shunned by the upper-class of society. Bullied in his youth and constantly harassed by his peers, the Freelancer was determined to go against the hegemonic and derogatory views that the upper-class and corrupt members of his society held against those who were far below them. Within the following years, the Freelancer became one of the best students in his academy and soon enough joined the military. In doing so he was able to bring his parents, siblings and wife and children to the upper-class level and his happiness stemmed from the fact that they were now living well in luxury and comfort thanks to himself.

However the Freelancer was frequently absent from his home city due to his species' being locked in a planetary civil war. The war reached to such a point that weapons of mass destructions began to saw use. The Freelancer had achieved a high enough rank at this point to lead his own battalion and as the exceptional tactician he was, managed to deal severe blows against the insurrection. Later on into the war, his battalion's intelligence uncovered an encrypted order sent by the insurrection to detonate an anti-matter bomb in his home city. The Freelancer radioed his planet's high command, informing them that he intended to intercept the fighter craft carrying the payload and neutralise it before it had the chance to deploy the weapon. However his superiors ordered him to stand down and attempted to redirect him to a different command post. The Freelancer went against orders and after some resistance against his own battalion, managed to lead a small group of soldiers to intercept the fighter craft on board another aircraft. However he was too late as the weapon had already been deployed and his home city was lost, along with his entire family.

The corrupt governance and military authorities placed the blame on the Freelancer and he was stripped of his rank and sentenced to execution. However, just as his execution was about to take place, another insurrection attack offered him the window for escape, after which he fled his planet onboard a ship, escaping certain death.

In the years that followed, the Freelancer turned stoic and cold and became an assassin-for-hire, bounty hunter and collector, working for and against different races as a form of newfound hobby. It was during this time he developed the alias "Freelancer" for himself, abandoning his real name. As a century passed and he was years into his career, he was eventually hired by Mephistopheles to neutralise Aaron-157, however this attempt failed on multiple occasions. Eventually Freelancer turned against his hirer when he discovered the nature of his and Draetheus's plans, after which he worked with Aaron-157 and his team of heroes to bring them down, ultimately resulting in Draetheus's death. Over the many years, Freelancer worked both for and against the UNSC until the final chapter of The Battle of Haven where he escaped the planet before its lockdown sequence was initiated. His whereabouts became unknown for a long time.

Five years later, he re-emerged surprisingly and aided Gavin, Kitty, Jaya and Dumont and his crew in the battle against The Starforger. After they had won, The Freelancer again disappeared.
