Augmented (Minor) - Genetic structure has been tampered with slightly from the base Terran, increasing muscle and bone density by double, increasing synaptic responses, increased resistance to illness and disease, increased resistance to foreign matter.

Project "B" Recipient (Minor) - Nanites have been incorporated into the body. Resistant to EMP and viruses, self-replicating within the body, these Nanites help regulate genetic issues, increase rate of natural healing, break down foreign matter, participate in a neural communication with other recipients within a certain range, and interface directly with technology.

Longevity (Minor) - The natural lifespan is increased by up to double.

Computation (Minor) - With the addition of technology into the mind, part of the brain is converted into a hub, a central processor for the Nanites, to become something similar to the nervous system. As an effect of this, the mind is able to function similar to a high-performance computer, and perform calculations much faster than the typical "fleshies". Do note that because the brain isn't entirely converted, the human psyche subconsciously suppresses superhuman processing as it can cause a high strain, as well as corrode the human mind if overused. A simple use is to increase the mind's thinking until it seems as if time is slowed down for them, and also to take in and understand things that the senses pick up more clearly. Excellent memory, and Eidetic memory are also common.

Artificial - These beings cannot be birthed naturally, and can only be created by augmenting a matured body, which gives an amount of pain that can cause fatal physical and mental scarring. 10% rate of survival. Can only be converted by an "Original."

Deficient - Due to the requirements of the technology added to the body, more sustenance is required, especially after losing blood. Amount required is up to triple a single meal, at least once a day, with a balanced intake of nutrients.

Purging - Once every year/cycle, without warning, the body is purged of impurities, cells rejuvenated, obsolete/old Nanites broken down and recycled within the body, and this process lasts anywhere between 2-14 days, where they will be defenseless. After exiting this hibernation of sorts, one will return to their primal instincts for a day, while their mind and body "re-sync". Gluttony, Lust, Sloth, and a Thirst for Battle are the main things that usually occur. This re-sync is caused while the Nanites reactivate and update. A purging can occur prematurely if the body is put under extreme conditions where they need to adapt or die.

Majority of existing Phantoms were previously Terran, from an age where commercially available genetic engineering was available for cosmetic purposes. Apart from their natural appearance, Phantoms typically tend to look more naturally beautiful, youthful, and refined. Muscle tone is often lean, despite the amount of strength they have.

As they are a species of modified beings, there is no set culture aside from the one they were raised with.

In a vastly different universe and timeline, Earth had no magic or unique beings. After being invaded by alien species repeatedly, they became militaristic, cunning, sharp, cold-blooded, and united as the Terran Imperium. With advances in technology and the help of espionage, the Terrans stole the genetic structure and also technology from every species they encountered, and began trying to take all the strengths while eliminating as many weaknesses as possible. Unfortunately, many conflicting and problematic variables caused a lot of setbacks which slowly started to be corrected by incorporating machine into man on the nanoscopic level. With part of the brain being converted into a central hub for the control server of the Nanites, they reigned in the genetic changes to finally create a new species artificially. After 7917 different batches, the 7918th was the one to survive and start succeeding. "Phantoms" are the mass-produced of those originals, on a minor scale in comparison. While only having a third of the capabilities of the originals, they are still a force to be reckoned with, especially with their ability to adapt and learn. Unless one of the original's converts a person, it is not possible to become a Phantom.
