The flashes and bangs of gunfire became more prominent as she approached over the lower rooftops, soon being able to see the fight itself. To simply put it was a gang war. Both sides wore hoodies or thick coats, scarves and balaclavas covering their faces whilst they fired black market guns at each other. At this time of night Ashira reckoned the police wouldn't arrive for another 10 minutes, by which point they might have killed innocent people in the surrounding houses.

Loading her first arrow and taking aim, she scanned the flashing area for her first target. There. A man pushing forward from the right, brazenly firing solid bursts of bullets to cover his advance. With wind and distance taken into account, Ashira fired the arrow. A short whistle followed by a scream of agony as the tip pierced his throat and grounded him for good. His friends looked around in shock, but failed to see where the shot came from. The advantage of arrows over guns was that she had no muzzle flash to hide.

Taking a deep breathe, she loaded her second arrow.

Whoosh. Agh! Her second target dropped to the ground from a punctured lung. This time it had been one of the few thugs with a rifle, sitting at the back giving the others supporting fire. Still no one could see the archer, as her black attire let her blend perfectly into the night. Another arrow loaded in her bow meant another thug dead on the ground. This was almost too easily like a practice range. 

It wasn't until four more arrows were fired did she see the man come from one of the alleys. At first she though he was carrying a molotov cocktail ready to throw, but closer inspection proved her wrong. The man was wielding fire in his bare hands and approaching the other side fast. Quickly Ashira fired an arrow at the source of the fire, but it disintegrated upon touching the flame. Wide-eyed she stopped for a moment, whilst the fire man stopped and looked upon.

Then he began hurling fireballs in her general direction, lighting up the rooftops until finally Ashira was lit up for all to see.

Without waiting for the guns to fire she shot into a run, sprinting for the next rooftop to gain some cover. Not only were bullets pinging on the metal around her, but more fireballs were being hurled around her leaving a trail of destruction. She had to get a clear shot on the man before he destroyed the place, but she couldn't with all the guns focused on her. Finally finding cover on one of the roofs she caught her breath and tried to think of a plan. 

There wasn't long to think but she had something. It was her only chance and she would only have one shot. Luckily though she wasn't an average human, although alot of the time she wished she was. Taking a sprint to the edge of the building all of a sudden she loading another arrow, leaping off the side to take aim at the fire man.

Just as he readied another fireball in his hand she fired at the perfect angle.

Kaboom. The car behind the fire man exploded loudly, taking out multiple thugs and sending him flying forwards instantly. Her shot had landed exactly as intended. Straight through the man's fireball and into the car's fuel tank. Her own landing was harsh but she recovered into a roll. There were still other thugs left standing, albeit they had stuttered from their firing due to the explosion. Ashira took this chance to fire to arrows in quick succession, taking out the two remainders.

On the ground before the fire-man was crawling forward, ironically with burns all across his back. With another arrow loaded she aimed down at his head, eyes narrowly watching him.
"You... bitch..." His words came out in a croaking voice, but swiftly they were silenced by an arrow to the head.

All that was left to do was recover her arrows, or atleast the ones she could. Jogging between the bodies she retrieved them and returned them to her quiver, hoping to get them all before the police arrived. It seemed however she wouldn't be so lucky as a group of armed officers turned the corner. She had just placed the last arrow back when she turned to face them, eyes blankly waiting for their reaction.

"It's the arrow girl." One said.
"Did you do this?" Another asked her. 
She replied with a nod.
"Let her go..." The first said. The others looked at him, but by the time they looked back at her to question it she had gone.

Now in a sprint around the corner, Ashira vault up a fire exit ladder to reach the back of her apartment. Within a minute she was inside her flat and stashed her bow, removed her scarf and hoodie so that she wore only her top and jeans. Casually she sat down and stared at herself in the mirror, letting out a long sigh.

She'd survived this night.
