As Kitty walked out of the prison complex on Reach, a UNSC Pelican flew down and stopped short almost right above her. The Pelican began to lower slowly and as its landing gear allowed it to set down on the ground, the cargo door of the Pelican slid down into a ramp for Kitty to get on board. A lone UNSC Marine stood inside the troop bay.
"Kittiana Youngblood, ma'am? I have orders to transport you to a location of your interest. Something about locating a book you've been searching for."

Kitty was suspicious,  that was certain, but she felt as if she could most definitely handle a lone Marine should he attack. The vampire nodded to the Marine, walking about silently but keeping one hand on the handle of her sword at all times

The marine offered her to sit down on one of the Pelican's seats before walking over to the cockpit and resuming control over the craft. The door shut and the craft took off. At this point, the state of the interior became noticable as a few lights flickered on. Most of the lights struggled to come to life and promptly gave up. The interior itself was in a state of disrepair. Some of the seating had been damaged and the walls and floor were covered in burnt marks, dry blood, bullet holes and even scratches.
"We are going to dock with a civilian shuttle ma'am. The journey will only take an hour or two. I hope you do not mind waiting."
Another thing would also have become apparent: the marine's voice was devoid of all emotion. It was monotone as if he was reciting the words off a script than speaking of his own volition.

Kitty knew something was wrong,  first she was picked up by a UNSC marine,  then she got on a ship that looked like it had been through hell,  and the marine sounded like he was reading off a script. She withdrew her sword,  but did not move to attack just yet.  "Fortunately, patience is something I do happen to have. "

As the Pelican docked with the ship, the marine powered down the vehicle. He got up and walked over to the troop bay where Kitty was sat. He sat down opposite to her and gazed straight into her eyes.
His face had a stoic expression on it but there was a hint of something else. Anger? Sorrow? .....Pain?
"Thank you for your patience." As he uttered the last word, something was noticeably off. With his voice there seemed to be another accompanying it, but the peculiarity was at a low enough volume that it may have been almost unnoticeable by most. "We have entered slipspace. It shouldn't. Take long." He continued.
"If there is anything you. You need. Please. Don't hesitate to. Ask." And with that, the marine's head tilted to one side and rested on his left shoulder. After that he was motionless despite his eyes still being wide open.

Her eyes narrowed, her muscles tensing as her grip on her sword tightened. Kitty stared straight back at the Marine,  she could hear his heartbeat and it was much too slow in her opinion. "Who requested me? "

The marine for a moment was unresponsive. His tilted head remained still and his eyes were still gazing into hers.
"You requested him. And he answered." He finally spoke, his head still tilted. This time his voice was completely distorted, as if there was no attempt made to hide it.
"You are stronger than I was. Perhaps you could survive his torment when we arrive."

"Legion. Well,  this whole charade could have been avoided. Then again you celestials always have a flair for the dramatic right?" Kitty kept her cool,  her muscles relaxing as she sheathed her sword. She reached out into empty air, but her hand seemed to disappear into something. "This little shadow pocket spell does come in handy..." She withdrew a potion.  It was the potion she had intended to use on Dan to free him from Lana's spell.  But perhaps it could be repurposed more towards it's intended use.

She downed half of the potion, hoping it would give her some resistance against Legion.

"He knew you wanted an audience. But he had to be sure." The marine replied.
Suddenly, there was a feeling of lightweightedness in the troopbay and it became apparent that the Pelican was in free-fall. From the cockpit came a faint glow which slightly brightened the dark troop bay to a degree, from its window.
If Kitty were to investigate, she'd see that the Pelican was lifelessly falling toward a planet. The planet itself looked very Earth-like however there was one spot that would draw her attention. Dark red and black clouds seemed to swirl in a vortex at a certain location on the planet and the lightning flashing from the different clouds were visible in orbit.
The Pelican Kitty was on was falling towards that area, seemingly on the verge on crashing right at the edge of the phenomenon.

Kitty sighed, tucking the potion back in the shadow void and wrapping her hands around the arm rests. "Well this is going to be a bumpy ride." Kitty muttered, still seemingly calm but she was tiniest bit on edge. A bad feeling was crawling up her spine, she shouldn't have come here alone.  

But was she ever really alone?

As the Pelican began to enter the planet's atmosphere, the inside of the craft began to warm to alarmingly quick. The Pelican's structure creeked and groaned under the sudden increase in pressure and velocity as it hurtled towards the surface. Eventually the flames igniting the hull became so intense that the outer hull began to melt and destabilise the dropship's structural integrity. Pieces of armour began to fly off and burn up in the air as the Pelican spun and twisted out of control. More and more pieces flew off, exposing both occupants inside to the atmosphere of the planet.

The interior of the craft caught fire and the marine was set ablaze, however he didn't seem to react to it at all. Suddenly, his skin gave away and revealed a body composed entirely of a mass of black liquid-goo. The goo spung to life and lunged at Kitty, sticking to her and covering her entire body at an alarmingly fast rate. Whatever was left of the Pelican exploded in the air and its debris either burnt up or rained down in small metal shards onto the surface. Kitty was at ground zero of the explosion however the black goo covering her had protected her body from the blast. The goo had been burnt off quickly and she'd still have taken some damage from the explosion. She continued to hurtle down to the surface on her own, coming dangerously close to hitting the grass below at an extremely high speed.

There was a piece of debris lodged in her stomach,  another in her throat, but even as she gargled blood she was alert. She spun around in the air, calling to the flames around her which flocked to her like moths to well, a flame.  She used the flames to push herself upward, slowing her fall but she had not yet done this before, and smacked into the ground anyway. Kitty yelp of pain was abruptly cut off as the debris lodged in her neck cut her vocal chords.

Once she gained the strength to move she carefully pulled the shard from her neck, letting out a croak as she felt blood glide down the side of her neck. She felt a bit lightheaded but she was healing still, reaching down and yanking out the other shard in her stomach. Kitty got up and dusted herself off, trying to speak but only succeeding in a squeak and a croak.

In front of Kitty, the storm that was seen from orbit raged in front of her. Around her were the corpses of wildlife and vegetarion, which itself was slowly burning and deteriorating. Clouds of black and red circled the sky a mile away and a red beam of energy shot up through the middle. The beam seemed to be coming from the ground, and the ground underneath the vortex of clouds was obscured by a fog of black dust and flames.

Suddenly, from the flames emerged a giant snake-like creature. It's mouth was a circle of jagged, sharp teeth and its skin black and devoid of any other detail. The snake sprung forth, let out a deep hiss as its saliva drooped out and hit the ground. Without allowing Kitty to recover, it spat its saliva forth at her face. The attack was big enough to cover her entire face, neck and upper chest and intended to have an acidic burning effect against her skin. However it did not wait still, and shot its tail out and wrapped it around her legs. The snake then took off into the dark fog, dragging her over fire and rock and other rough terrain mercilessly for what seemed like forever. It's grip was impossibly tight and any attempts to puncture its skin, burn it or loosen its grip would be fruitless.

Finally, it slid to a halt and threw her forward over itself, slamming her down onto the ground infront ofit. The snake then released her and disappeared back into the fog. Kitty herself was surrounded by dark mist and the ground she was on was ablaze with fire. It was almost impossible for any oxygen-reliant being to breath in these conditions and it would also have been unbearably hot for them. Her vision was also distorted and everything seemed to be "flickering" around her with heat.

Kitty had attempted to take in a gasp of air as the snake threw her,  only for her lungs to feel as if they were burning like her skin as he dark mist filled her lungs. She croaked again, trying to get air in as she clawed at the ground. Kitty was attempting to crawl out from the mist, a look of ferocity in her eyes despite her conditions. Her skin was healing quickly, but suddenly she stopped. There was fire around her. If there seemingly wasn't any oxygen in this mist, how could there be fire?  Fire needed oxygen too.  

Kitty's vision was darkening around the edged because of lack of air,  but she was stubborn and resilient. The vampire clawed at the ground as she crawled,  wheexing and hacking as she still attempted to get air. But it was hard to see which way was out because of the distortion of her vision.

"Kitty..." Came a familiar voice from the distance, to her side. The voice sounded pained, as if the person was in a state of suffering and agony.
"Kitty, please.." The figure was male and upon closed inspection, she could see that it was Dan, in his human form. His back was turned to her and as soon as she would start to walk towards him, he'd walk off into the mist. Only his faint silhouette would be seen which would also start to fade completely out of sight if she decided not to go after him.

Kitty was confused for a moment, then she let out a wheezed and raspy laugh. She knew that wasn't Dan the second he opened his mouth. She stood on shaky legs, her clothes we're damn near shreads and she was covered in blood.  She looked insane standing looking like that and letting out raspy laughter. She could talk now, but her voice was just as raspy as her laughter as she hacked and wheezed. "That's cute Legion. Really it is.  But Dan doesn't say please."

Not even a second after she had finished speaking, "Dan"'s decapitated head came flying back through the mist and landed at her feet. His face was severely disfigured and his expression locked in a look of agony.
"Miss me, Kits?" Came another voice from behind her. The voice was unistakeably Corsetta's and she stood a few meters behind her. Black liquid dripped down from where her eyes should have been but were now empty sockets. Some more liquid oozed from between her teeth and dripped out of her mouth, which was stretched open and her teeth clenched together in a cheshire grin. On her chest, she wore with pride a trophy - Aaron's face. His eyes were missing and the entire face was littered with scars and covered in blood and more of the black liquid.
"Why don't we... play a little." She said in a slightly distorted voice, tilting her head to the side. Then came her laughted, loud and echoey. From her right hand slid down a sword that was seemingly composed of bones that were stained with blood.

Kitty would never admit it,  but to have Dan's head fall at her feet tugged harshly at her heart strings. Kitty turned in the direction of the voice, but even upon the sight of the mangled darker version of herself her own deranged grin did not leave her blood stained face. "Now that's just gross. And it doesn't really provide any adiquit protection." Despite the fact that Corsetta may just be an illusion, she withdrew her own sword. 

"Honestly Legion, my doppleganger is the best you can do? I've already beaten her and taken hold of her powers." Kitty circled Corsetta like a predator stalking prey,  "Come on darling, let's dance. "

Suddenly from behind her came a powerful strike to her knee joint. The object was blunt but only barely. Nontheless, the strike was strong enough to puncture through her kneecap and this was followed up by a strike to her head with something metal.
A large figure stood over her and it wouldn't have taken her long to recognise the familiar armour of Aaron. However, his right arm was nothing but bone and his left leg from the knee down was a metal rod that was jammed into his flesh. Blood dripped down the rod everytime he made a movement and also emitted a "squish" sound. His armour was in a state of severe disrepair and his visor was completely cracked.. to reveal a skull underneath which featured a large crack on its cranium.

Aaron reached circled her for a moment with a slight limp before reaching down and grabbing her from both shoulders. Any attack she attempted against him would have zero effect somehow. It was as if her powers had been drained in some way. He pulled her up into kneeling position and subsequently grabbed both of her shoulders and applied enough pressure into her shoulder joints with his hands to painfully dislocate them. He felt her firmly in that position and the next thing she'd notice is Corsetta standing in front of her while Aaron held her down from behind.

Internally Kitty was panicing, but her face betrayed no such emotion. Instead she winced when Aaron dislocated her shoulders,  spitting straight in Corsetta's face. "If you expect me to grovel and ask for my life then you really aren't a part of me at all." Kitty was up shit creek without a paddle, she never should have come alone. The vampire was struggling in Aaron's hold, trying in vain to call upon her fire. She almost wanted to cry when she couldn't feel it, her fire was like a piece of her heart and soul. It brought her great pain to not be able to feel it. This also meant that she couldn't morph into lava to get away either. 

Instead Kitty spat at Corsetta once more, the old vampire was not afraid of death. In fact she regularly embraced and wished for it, not that she would tell anyone, that would gain her looks. "Go ahead! Do it!" Despite not being able to call on her fire,  it was present in her eyes, Caribbean blue eyed burning with fire.

"You wish." Corsetta said, the smile still on her face as wide and deranged as ever. Corsetta then proceeded to slice the blade across her face, bringing it around to slice her again, and again, and again. Each time the cut was deep, thorough and punctured through her flesh mericlessly. Each strike increased the pain tenfold towards the point where she'd be dazed from the torture. The skin on her cheekbones were gone, and her jaw was nothing but bone exposed with no more flesh covering it at all.

Aaron's gauntleted hand came around and grabbed her bottom jaw, tugging down on it with immense strength and dislocating it with ease. Her jaw now hung loose with her blood pouring down in fountains.
Grabbing the back of her head in a fistful of hair, Corsetta yanked her head back and positioned her head above Kitty's. Corsetta's jaw then opened to a disproportioned length and a waterfall of thick black ooze poured out of her mouth, into Kitty's mouth and down her throat.  An intense burning sensation tore its way down her throat, neck and continued on down her chest and into the pit of her stomach. With each second passing, the burning increased more and more. The ordeal came to an end after a minute where Corsetta released her hold on Kitty and allowed her to attempt to choke up anything she could.

But this respite didn't last long, as Corsetta then, without warning, brought her sword down again and sliced her across the neck. She dropped her sword and grabbed the gaping wound, tearing it open and then proceeding to vomit more black goo down the wound. This sent waves and waves of extreme pain throughout the whole of her body and the burning sensation became unbearable. But she was forced to endure it. The mist, or whatever unknown power that surrounded them did not allow her to die from her injuries and as such she was forced to suffer through them. But finally, this ordeal ended too and Aaron let her go, allowing her to drop to the floor and recover any way she could.

Kitty let out a gargled yelp of pain, attempting to spit up whatever she could but deep down she knew it was hopeless. Despite the fact that she was letting out raspy gargled screams, her mind remained strong while her body could not. She had been tortured before, endlessly in many different ways,  magical and man. She didn't respond much to physical torture anymore. Around Kitty was a pool of her own blood and black ooze,  writhing and jerking in Aaron's grip as wave after wave of pain went through her. 

During all this she screamed and thrashed, but when it was all over, when she had a moment to breath when they released her. She began laughing. Inhuman sounding laughter that echoed as she lay there in a pool of her own blood,  her face and body mangled. She was actually laughing so hard that tears were coming to her eyes. "Y-You're going to t-torture me?  That's it? And here I thought Legion was something that put the fear of god into people. You can't break what's already broken." Kitty truly was insane,  letting out gargled raspy laughter at a high pitch and spat out more blood. "Damn,  Eli is such a sissy. This is almost childsplay. Although I must admit I've never been tortured this way before. But torture is just torture." A malicious blood thirsty smirk curled on her face, only half of it visible as skin clung to her half exposed jaw. 

"And I heal." She stood surprisingly quickly, slamming both her fists into Aaron and Corsetta's stomaches.

Both figures shattered with her strikes, falling to pieces onto the ground as if made of glass... glass that oozed black goo.
A tentacle-like object suddenly shot out from the shadows and wrapped around her throat. Again, she found herself yanked across the rough ground until she stopped at a certain location. This place was slightly more lit due to her now being directly underneath the swirling vortex of clouds and lightning. The source of the beam was right in front of her - an almost blinding light shaped into a crack which floated in mid air.
Beside her stood another familiar figure. It was Draetheus in his monstrous form. As with everyone else, he was a mockery of his real self. Both of his arms and legs were missing and he stood on six insect-like legs instead. His bottom set of jaws were missing and a thick tentacle-like tongue hung loosely down his chest. His eyes were also missing and there were gaping wounds located all over his body, which oozed the black liquid. His head was tilted to one side which made him seem almost lifeless.

Suddenly a shadow was cast upon her from the source of bright light and there Kitty saw her mother. Her clothes torn and her body covered in scars and dripping blood. Her mouth was stitched shut but was contorted into an unnaturally big glasgow smile. Her eyelids had also been cut off completely and one of her eyeballs hung loosely from its eyesocket by a single nerve.
There was ash coming off her body as if she was burning and her body seemed to be flickering as if Kitty was looking at her through fire.
"You sought Legion. You shall have him. You passed the test of endurance. And your prize is the audience for which you came." The voice came from her mother but was not her mother's. As if with the voice however, Kitty's mother seemed to bloat and shrink to its normal size like a beating heart. Her body pulsated with each word spoken by the deep, inhumanly gravelly voice.

Kitty gasped and heaved up whatever was left of anything in her stomach when the tentacle released her. She got up slowly, rubbing her throat. Half her jaw was no longer exposed, instead thr muscles and tendons seemed to be growing back slowly. She was looking actually human again. "You know.  There are easier and quicker ways to do things. That was a brand new coat." Kitty sounded miffed, it looked more like a vest with holes in it now, as did most of her clothes, but it covered what it needed to. Kitty was greatly unnerved by the sight of her mother, but did not let it show on her face. "Now, shall we get down to business?"
