VDR-1

The VDR-1 is the Vekimens answer to a need for a cheap, simple, reliable weapon that can be effectively used by anyone with a brain. Made with simple, stamped metal, they are easily produced, easily repaired, and most importantly cheap. The VDTF's one goal with this weapon was to make sure any sentient creature, regardless of intelligence, could use this firearm effectively.

Appearance

Looking at the VDR-1, the first word that would come to mind would be cheap. That is exactly what it is. A barrel, open bolt, trigger, wire folding stock, box magazine well, pistol grip and a case to hold it all together. All of it stamped out of any strong but plentiful metal to give strength but reduce weight. The fixed ghost peep sight on the top is spot welded into place. This weapon spared every expense on making a good looking gun and made it what the soldier wanted. Reliable.

VDR-1M


The VDR-1M is a more specialized version of the VDR-1. Reducing the reliability of the platform, Komodo Arms improved the accuracy, as well as added several useful attachments.

VDR-1 Shotgun


For when the soldier needs a rifle, but really wants the shotgun, the VDR-1 can come equipped with a underslung shotgun. Not as effective as the standard VDSG-1, it cannot use Slug rounds and suffers from an accuracy and range decrease.

VDP-1


The VDP-1 is the little brother to the VDR-1. Built in the exact same format as the VDR-1, the VDP-1 is a rough, rugged pistol that is designed for the soul purpose of operating when you need it to. Stamped out of metal sheets, it's fairly lightweight and durable.

Appearance

Looking at the VDP-1, the first word that would come to mind would be cheap. That is exactly what it is. Barrel, slide, recoil bar, spring, lower receiver, trigger. Safer than its larger counterpart the VDR-1 due to the existence of a simple safety, this is the pistol for the soldier with a tight budget. Minimalist bar and post sights, the VDP-1 is very much so a point and shoot kind of firearm. With plastic grip plates, basic thumb safety, and more expensive models even include a slide catch and release.

VDSMG-1


The VDSMG-1, Black Star Industries answer to close quarters combat. The Vekimen are built for CQC, but they didn't build this weapon platform for themselves. Now, they are bringing it close to home. High rate of fire, small package, big punch, and most importantly to this series, cheap, reliable, and easy to use.

Appearance

The VDSMG-1, at its core, is a shortened, rechambered VDR-1. Of course, some modifications were made. Cheap, closed bolt, with a steel construction to save on construction cost. Stock, trigger, magazine well, wth a simple bar and post sight spot welded onto the top. Steel grey, it is also the first model that comes with built in recoil reduction using springs in the buttstock. Should this prove effective, then KAM will start to put it in all their models.

Alternative Ammunition Types
The VDTF is not one to appear as a one trick pony in the field of battle. The guns are just the delivery method for the various brands of death and destruction the Vekimen have developed. 

8x60mm Ammunition Types

Standard Ball

SB Ammunition is your standard, completely simple ball ammunition that does damage through a simple transfer of kinetic energy. The 8x60mm Standard Ball ammunition fires a 10 gram lead round.

FMJ

To increase the amount of penetration, the FMJ round will punch through most material, expending little of its kinetic force. It fires a 10 gram Copper jacketed lead bullet with added penetration.

Low Velocity

These rounds are for those with weak shoulders. Designed as a direct way of reducing recoil without modifying the rifle, the powder throws the bullet at a much more reasonable 950 m/s for 3,321 joules of force.


8x35mm Alternative Ammuntion

Standard Ball

SB Ammunition is your standard, completely simple ball ammunition that does damage through a simple transfer of kinetic energy. The 8x35mm Standard Ball ammunition fires a 14 gram lead round.

Hollow Point

To reduce the amount of collateral damage while dealing with issues on the station, the hollow point round will expand and break up once they hit a target, expending most of its kinetic force. It fires a 12 gram lead bullet with little penetration.

FMJ

To increase the amount of penetration, the FMJ round will punch though most material, expending little of its kinetic force. It fires a 10 gram Copper jacketed lead bullet with added penetration.


8 gauge Alternative Ammunition

Slug Shells

Slug Shells are one of the most common shells produced. Firing a solid 3oz slug, this is by far the hardest-hitting shell in the lot. Whatever it hits will certainly feel the impact as it imparts 18,218 ft/lbs into its target. 750-meter max range. Due to the high pressure of the round, these shells are made of metal, and not plastic. 

Buckshot

Buckshot, the favoured round of most who use the Shotgun. The 8 Gauge VD buckshot, it will maintain a lethal grouping up to 100-meters, but that doesn't mean it's not a bad thing to get hit by at further distances. 

High Explosive

For when you want whatever it is you are looking at to die, there is the High Explosive Shell. There are three types of HE Shells. HE, HE-Fg, and HE-AP. It's effective distance is 100 meters.

• High Explosive: Standard High Explosive Slug. Blast Radius of 1.5 meters. 
  
• High Explosive Fragmentation: This is an Anti-Personnel slug under the HE line. It has a 1.5 meter blast radius, and a 3 meter lethal fragrment radius.
  
• High Explosive Anti-Armour: This is an Anti-Armour shell. It has a shaped charge in the nose, and can effectively help the shell punch through 2 inches of steel. 
  

Flame

The Flame Shell is packed with magnesium, sending a spray of flames up to 100 feet. It can catch fire to ignitable materials.
