| Aaron's time on Nightblood had been eye-opening for sure. It was a stark contrast to the place he had been raised, which had turned out to be very lonely especially after the passing of Sylvana and Elijah. His father was another complicated matter. Here though he had a family, Kittiana and, now stood in front of him, Caitlin. He found her in the training room practicing, as she had done frequently since arriving on Nightblood. It seemed she was eager to be training. "Can I ask what you're training for?" Aaron spoke up whether he'd been noticed or not, stepping into the training room with a smile. "You seem set on improving, which don't get me wrong is admirable. But there must be a reason." He didn't know fully what her direct family or history was, but he knew there had to be something that drove her to be training so much. If he knew what, then hopefully he could help her. |

| Since the end of her first mission, Caitlin had spent her time with Kitty and Aaron on Nightblood. Both her and Aaron had been invited to the world by its queen to undergo training to become more powerful warriors. After her exhaustion in the last mission, Caitlin was determined to improve as much as possible. Nightblood was peaceful and beautiful, but sightseeing was out of the question if it interrupted her training.
It was late in the evening and, as usual, Caitlin was focusing all her efforts on training in the dojo. Since arriving on Nightblood she had found herself spending most of her time here and tonight was no exception. Caitlin heard Aaron enter the room quietly as he watched her practice but for the most part, she ignored him and carried on.
"Can I ask what you're training for?" he asked politely. At first, the girl gave him no response and tried to ignore him. It was only when he carried on speaking that she gave up and replied. Caitlin sighed, obviously preferring the quiet to socializing. "Last mission, I wasn't strong enough to handle a simple fight...I wasn't good enough. Wouldn't you push yourself to be better in my shoes?" She clearly wasn't happy with herself at all. Talking about it was making her more and more annoyed at herself so she returned to her training hoping that would be the end of it. |

| "You were good enough to raise a shield and save the others from what I heard." He offered his consolation, moving further into the dojo and showing her Mjolnir in his hand. "I would've been useless too if it weren't for the hammer. I've barely trained and I have no special powers, no matter what they say I descended from." His eyes scanned the hammer for a moment, before he dropped it to the ground where it instantly sat upright.
"I think we can help each other," Aaron looked at her with a somewhat serious expression. "I'm not quite sure the exact relation or who your parents are, but I feel like we're in a similar situation. A family name to live up to, yet no apparent headstart."
"What're you training to be? A mage? Warrior? Something different?" |

| Caitlin was growing more and more frustrated with Aaron as he distracted her from training. "Look, no offense but if you're as new as I am, how in the world can you help me?" She snapped at him. She had never really gotten used to having other people around a lot. Back in the Rift she spent most of her time alone unless her mother needed her for something specific. Life back home really wasn't the best now that she thought about it.
With the thought of her less than great childhood and home life in her head, Caitlin began to become more and more visibly frustrated. Her attacks grew stronger and more aggressive as she tried to let off more and more steam in an effort to calm herself down. Eventually, a purple-hued fireball engulfed the girl's hand hand without her even thinking about it. As powers activated, Caitlin's fist slammed into the training dummy that she'd focused her attacks on, the power of her attack strong enough to break the dummy and send it flying across the room in pieces.
Damn it...That wasn't meant to happen... She thought to herself. |

| "Well, if anything it looks like I'm already helping." Aaron swallowed any fear he had as he moved even closer, putting off the fact the girl had just punched a dummy right across the room. There was very little he remembered from his magic training, but the defensive capabilities taught by Elijah seemed like they could be enough to provoke Caitlin and not end up with her ripping him in half. With this in mind he began to circle around her.
"You can't turn down fights when the real enemy comes. Then again you can't lose control of your powers either." He raised his fists, focusing on drawing energy to himself. "We can practice on each other, improve our skills. Training dummy's aren't going to threaten the world. People are." |

| "Why do you even care? We might be distantly related somehow but you barely even know me" Caitlin snapped, throwing out her hand and a blast of psionic energy in Aaron's direction. She had grown so used to being alone that the thought of some stranger thinking he could help her was enough to piss her off. "Let's get one thing straight, thunder boy. I don't need your help. I can do things on my own. Got it?" she questioned him mockingly, shooting him an extremely harsh death glare. |

| "You think you're the only one who feels alone here?" Aaron absorbed the impact of Caitlin's blast with a shield of magic, lowering his hands once it was over. "The only family I knew died in another dimension. I had to leave them to come here and fight to fix my... our ancestors mistakes. Sure, Kittiana offered to help us, but we don't know them. We bear the Almis name but it means nothing unless we band together under it."
"Now, prove to me you can handle things yourself." Suddenly Aaron's palm shot up, sending his own blast of arcane magic back to Caitlin. Now his hands were raised and ready, prepared for a spar with his distant relative. |
