Kitty stared at the transmission in slight confusion, wondering who the VIP was. She had a clue, but part of her doubted it while the other part nagged at her. With a sigh Kitty ran a hand through her hair, leaning back on her work table. "You don't look pleased darling." A voice drawled and Kitty glanced to her left, looking at the smirking brunette. "I'm not Dakora." Kitty huffed back, pushing off her work table and gathering her things. She was still dressed in a medieval fashion, but thankfully she had convinced her devil of a hand maiden away from skirts and gowns, instead preferring to wear the corset tops with thick leather trousers. Much easier to move in.  

"So, where are we going darling?" Dakora hopped off the other work table, disturbing a few papers that had work in progress spells scrawled onto it in chicken scratch. "Reach." Dakora nodded her head, passing Kitty her cloak which she fixed over her shoulders. She slid on her magic glove, then took her angel blade off the wall and slid it into its sheath. Then she relayed the coordinates to Dakora, who smirked and disappeared in a flash of violet flame. With a sigh Kitty summoned up her own teleporting spell after pulling her hood up over her head, partially obscuring her face. She appeared on Reach a second after Dakora.

"Christ," Dan startled slightly, pulling himself from leaning against the wall of the large Helix tower behind him. His hand went to his chest for a moment, allowing him to recover himself before he looked at Kitty and Dakora. "You'll give someone a heart attack someday popping out of nowhere like that." He smirked slightly, looking at Kitty first before seeing Dakora. "They didn't say you were bringing a friend though."

After he had spoken he braced himself for whatever onslaught of words or punches he was about to receive from Kitty, thinking it best they were gotten over with before they continued...

Kitty pulled her hood back upon hearing Dan, a mixture of emotions running through her as she turned to look at him. For the briefest moment her eyes flashed a blood red, then they were back to their usual Caribbean blue. She was silent as he spoke, her eyes narrowing as a myriad of emotions crossed her tanned face. The usual ones, anger, sorrow, annoyance, a little longing. But then there were the new ones, disappointment and defeat. Then her face was blank, her eyes as cold as Diana's were when she was angry. "Where Kitkat goes I go, right darling?" Dakora drawled, to which Kitty just sort of shrugged and nodded. 

Kitty walked up to Dan, standing in front of him for a moment and just staring at him in silence as Dakora looked on with a slight smirk. Then she just looked away and walked around him, not even shoving her shoulder into his. She seemed to be completely ignoring his presence, even going so far as to not make any sassy or snide comment. As if she didn't care at all. That in itself was probably worse than any punch or words she could throw. "Come on Dakora, we have a job to do." Her tone was icy, more like Corsetta's almost. "You too Daniel. I have better things to do so we'll make this quick."

Dakora looked amused by Kitty's cold facade, she knew the vampire well enough that she was internally fuming and desperate to rip the other demon a new one. Rolling her shoulders back Dakora let her wings sprout from her back, the appendages looking similar to those of a bat. Then she cracked her neck, her horns sprouting from her forehead as violet flames licked at her clawed hands. Then Dakora followed after Kitty, who was already a bit ahead of Daniel and Dakora. Although briefly Dakora looked at Daniel, flashing him an amused smirk, "Oh, you are most definitely screwed." Turning Dakora dashed after Kitty again, the smirk never leaving her face as she stood beside the queen.

"Well this is worse than I expected," Dan commented, quickly moving to follow Kitty into the building. The room they entered into was a reception displaying 'HELIX' across the wall behind a desk, on which an assistant robot lay deactivated. Various other corpses and robotics lay around the room, which looked to have been looted a few times. Overall it was a creepy environment that lacked any lighting apart from the small pieces of sunlight coming from the front door.

"Usually you hit me, or swear at me, maybe say something sarcastic. But now it's silence? Has something happened or is this just what it's come to?" He sighed, moving quicker to try and get in front of her. "Are you mad at me? I died protecting Jaya and the baby, now Jaya brought me back to fix this; which by the why isn't my fault. Helix has to have been hacked." He stopped there, scanning her expression and awaiting a reply.

Kitty brought out a hand, a small fireball growing in her palm to provide more light. The area did have a creepy vibe, the hairs on the back of Kitty's neck stood on end. She wasn't scared, very very very few things scared her, she was usually what scared things. But still she was on edge, with Dan being there and how quiet the area seemed to be. At least until Dan began talking. As he moved quicker to get in front of her, her eye twitched but that was the only sign of her anger. 

Kitty listened as he spoke, even Dakora didn't say a word but she licked her lips and looked at Kitty and Dan as if she were wishing she had popcorn. Kitty stopped a couple inches from Dan when he stopped, although part of her wanted to slam right into him as hard as she could. "You think I'm angry because you died? I've long since gotten used to that." Her voice remained monotone, as did her expression. She had had two years to stew over her feelings and keep them under her control. 

"Yes I am angry with you. Yes you protected the baby. But you went behind my back. You told me you would try, that you would try with me to help protect Jaya and the baby and keep them together." She stepped closer and got in his face, the anger was starting to bleed in around the edges of her calm facade. Daniel Almis infuriated Kittiana Youngblood like no one else. "Instead you take her to a remote cabin on a remote planet, when she would have been so much safer at the castle. Then you arranged with your brother to have the child taken away to a different dimension." 

Kitty shoved Dan back a step, her tone getting harsher and harsher but yet there was no wild rage in her eyes. No, this was a controlled rage, which made that even worse because Kitty's anger was usually explosive and violent. This rage was perfectly controlled to inflict the most damage. "Did you know your mother died that day too? Because Makou through a temper tantrum when I beat him at his own game, he broke the sword and freed Zalgo. Your mother used me as a vessel to kill Zalgo. So many people died that day." The rage was disappearing, replaced by the cold calm. "And maybe it could have been avoided if you kept your word. But by now I should know better than to trust a single word that comes from your lips." 

Kitty stepped back, turning away from him and walking to the desk with the assistant robot lay deactivated, "Which way do we go? This used to be yours so you know it best." She was cold again, seemingly indifferent towards him but the way heat radiated off her was a dead give away to her emotions. But she couldn't think about that right now. They had a job to do.

Dakora leaned back against a wall, watching the show. Daniel seemed to have a major amount of sway with Kitty, had it been anyone else that had gone behind her back like that Dakora knew Kitty would not be so merciful. She would have exchanged words for blades. Dakora opened her mouth to comment, but one sharp glance from Kitty who now stood by the desk made her fall quiet. Dakora was used to watching things from the shadows or the outskirts, she was curious to see how this mission played out. "Dakora, can you go outside and scout from above? Perhaps a higher visual will be beneficial." Dakora nodded, although a tad disappointed she didn't get to watch the show anymore. 

Turning and walking from the room she went outside again, bending down and flexing her wings before leaping into the air.

Dan for once swallowed any reply, allowing Kitty to vent at him until she moved away to ask which way to go. Breathing out slowly he examined the room. "Well being the lazy sod I was the only way to the main terminal is an elevator, but we need power for that." He began walking down one of the corridors, his eyes flickering between doors that passed him before he came to the right one. Eventually he did, pressing his hand against the metal and slowly allowing his hand to turn bright red with demonic energy. The door melted at his touch, leaving an empty passageway into the generator room.

"If you know any electric spells, fire it into that. A shock or two should kick it into gear," He pointed at a large generator on the other side of the rather small room. "When the power's on the droids will activate, meaning we'll have to fight to the terminal, and your friend up there will end up the target of several turrets."

Kitty let out a breath, seemingly thankful that that seemed to be the end of that for now. Turning away from the desk she followed after Dan, remaining quiet. She watched him press his hand into the metal, straightening a little when she saw his hand glow red with demonic energy. Quietly she sniffed the air, she didn't know how it had slipped her senses earlier. "You're a demon again." Kitty almost sounded like she wanted to ask how that was possible, but brushed the urge away. 

Stepping into the empty room she looked around, there was a disconcerted look on her face. So far things had been so quiet, it wasn't right. But then her suspicions were waived by Dan, and she sighed as she pressed her hands to the generator. "I know a couple." She closed her eyes, taking in a breath as she wracked her brain for a proper spell. "Dakora can handle herself just fine. She's the one that taught me." Then Kitty fell mostly quiet, beginning to whisper as there were little pops sounding in the air. Suddenly electricity sprang from her fingertips, and she rolled her shoulders as the generator began to power up as she kept her hands there. "Here we go. Hope you can keep up."

"You kidding?" Dan smirked, already making for the room's exit. As soon as he entered the corridor he sent a blast of demonic energy left, taking out a droid before it could even activate. From there he bolted through the corridor, leading the way to the elevators. Ahead though came half a dozen droids, at which point Dan slowed down. To engage he kicked himself up from the wall, bringing his fist down hard upon the first robot. After this he blasted that robots parts into the enemy behind it, charging through the two piles of scrap.

Dan continued to take out the robots on the left, assuming Kitty would have caught up and handled those on the right. One more opponent lay in his path, to which he dodged a series of rifle fire and ripped the leg off of. Now with the path clear he ran forward into the elevator, turning to smirk back at Kitty.

"Quite the race." He said, awaiting her to enter before he pressed the button bearing the number '20'.

Kitty sighed, "Moron." She muttered under her breath before making towards the exit as well. Normally she would be able to move much faster than Dan, but she stayed behind him because she didn't know the facility as well as he did. Kitty raised her brow slightly when he blasted a robot, the demonic energy making the angel sword in her sheath glow a little bit. 

Kitty didn't slow down when they encountered the droids, nor did she pull out her blade. Instead she went down on her hands, flipping forward towards the first one and landing on top of it straddling it. Reaching down she ripped its head off, then allowed fire to engulf her hand then the head. Gripping it tightly she threw it with superhuman force and strength at another droid, leaving a burning hole in its chest. Although the head kept going and slammed into the third droid, but it did not have as much force as it had in the beginning.

The droid was knocked back a couple steps but Kitty was already up and moving, pulling a knife from a thigh sheath and jamming it into its head before pulling it out and punching it in the chest. When it fell she dusted herself off, stepping over the robot and calmly walking into the elevator. Kitty rolled her eyes at Dan's smirk, tucking the knife back into it's sheath on her thigh before crossing her arms over her chest. As he pressed the button she saw more droids coming around the corner, one already had its rifle raised and took aim. 

"Move!" Kitty shoved Dan into the side of the elevator that was out of shooting range, wincing when the bullet bit into her shoulder. Turning swiftly Kitty summoned a great deal of fire to her hands, then shoved it outward towards the approaching robots. She watched it engulf the corridor just before the door closed, a sigh leaving her lips. She gritted her teeth, bringing a hand up to her shoulder and pushing her fingers into the wound to take out the bullet. She dropped the bloody mangled bullet to the floor, a little clink sounding as it fell. Within seconds her wound healed and she wiped her bloody fingers on her black corset. "So, who would be capable of hacking Helix?" She spoke nonchalantly, then again she was used to getting shot at so it wasn't something she stressed over.

Dan was taken by surprise being shoved into the elevator, watching as Kitty took a bullet to the shoulder moments before the doors closed. Now they were stood in relative silence, until the distorted sound of elevator music tried to play through broken speakers. 
"Thanks." He nodded, before turning to look at anything but her. "I've no idea. I imagine there's plenty of capable hackers out there, but I can't think of any reason to do this. Not unless you really wanted to destroy the galaxy." A shrug came after some pondering. "Wouldn't be my first choice of ways to destroy life."

Under a minute later the elevator stopped, opening it's doors to reveal a circular control room which thanks to it's large windows held a view over the surrounding area. Dan stepped out first, surveying the semi-circle of terminals and computers finally approaching one to the left.
"I'll start here, you start on the other side. The password is Kitty." He quickly tried to avoid explaining his password, instead logging in to the left-most terminal and beginning his search. "Get any records of recent activity in the network. We need to see who, if anyone, has had access."

"Can't say that wasn't satisfying." Kitty mumbled under her breath, it had been satisfying shoving him around in the elevator."Despite the fact that I'm angry at you and may not trust you entirely, you're still family Dan. I don't have a lot of that. I'll always take a bullet for you."  Then Kitty let the awkward silence settle again, looking up at the speakers with a scowl. "I'd smash that. But I don't want to break anything unless it kills us." Kitty wasn't the best at keeping quiet. Kitty could tell that he was trying to look at anything but her as he spoke, that half upset her and half pleased her. After venting to him most of her anger had evaporated, but she was desperate to hold onto that anger so that when he left her again it wouldn't hurt so much. "You know I took a look at the original Almis Protocol. It was set to gather your assets upon your death right? What if the intention was to steal your stuff but they messed up the code?" Kitty pondered, looking over at Dan. 

Kitty walked into the room with fire curling on her palms, ready for whatever jumped out at them. When nothing did she relaxed, Kitty went over to the computer Dan mentioned. "Kitty?" She chuckled just a little at his choice of password, entering it into the computer and sitting there in silence for a moment before she sighed. "I don't hate you you know, I'm just angry. Give it time." If you have any, she didn't add that part. Then she began to check the recent network activity, scrolling through and typing things out. "Man, robots destroying the galaxy? Now that's a fun idea."  Kitty stiffened as Corsetta's voice invaded her ears, she-devil appearing out of the corner of Kitty's vision and leaning against a computer terminal.

"I don't really have that much stuff to steal." Dan replied, continuing to look through another terminal. This time he finally found a lead, typing to access further in the logs. Soon enough he found the relevant time and information, but he shook his head at the results. "This can't be right? It says I changed the protocol from my personal terminal, but I swear I didn't. Plus only I can use my terminal, so it can't have been a..." He paused as he snapped his gaze back to the logs.

"That bitch." He cursed, logging off the terminal after downloading the logs and turning back to Kitty. "The dates line up with the events on Chorus II, when I was under Lana's control..." Dan moved across the room, logging on to a terminal closer to the center. "It must have been a backup plan in case Zalgo didn't get what he wanted. If we stopped her destroying the galaxy, which we did, she'd still have the Helix virus as a Plan B..."

His eyes scanned the screen, whilst fingers clicked across the keyboard.
"It might be obvious, but let's see if we can look what the modified Helix Protocol says. We could predict future targets or spreading patterns from it, or maybe see if there's a killswitch."

Kitty was only partially surprised, pausing her keyboard movements to look over at Dan while she ignored Corsetta's voice. "Can't say I'm surprised that she screwed with you again." Kitty returned to her typing, although her fingers moved much faster this time. Her mind strayed to the events of Chorus II, a scowl forming on her face. "Least you didn't have to be at least 20 feet close to her at all times." She quipped, scowling even more as the thought about the time she was stuck with Lana via the link. "But if this was Plan B, why did it take so long?"

"Even Zalgo couldn't wipe out the galaxy in an instant. I guess this was a time-bomb of sorts, if the darkness hadn't destroyed Helix by the time it activated then the bomb itself is activated." He shrugged, finally bringing up a cached copy of the protocol. "Hard to say what goes on in that witch's head though." On the screen in front of him now showed a sprawl of text, each line detailing the code that altogether made up the final protocol.

"It's no mistake. The parameter that detail enemies to be eliminated has been changed to an asterisk, which in coding language means 'everything'." Dan continued to scroll through, looking for the changes. "The original protocol would just gather up all of my buildings and creations then protect them from the wrong hands, but this code is telling every facility to manufacture as many units as possible." A final click began a download to the local drive, completing within seconds before he could remove a small disk from the terminal. 

"I've no idea where the main HQ would be, the Knights will have to find that out." He said as he walked back to the elevator. "How's Nightblood?"

Kitty closed down the computer she was using, Dan had gotten what they needed already. Rubbing her forehead she tried to shut Corsetta out, but only succeeded in having her image flicker. Corsetta chuckled but didn't speak again, fortunately for Kitty. "I think its fairly easy to say what happens in her head. World domination and destruction, screwing you over, and trying to kill me and the rest of your family." Rolling her eyes she headed over to the computer Dan was at, her eyes scanning the screen. 

"They've been implanting hardware into organic subjects as well so they aren't really going for tip top shape if they aren't doing full conversions." She stated, glaring at the code on the screen. "If you didn't remember that you did this there could be other things you could have done that you just don't remember." There were ways of extracting memories like that if under Lana's spell he even made memories, some spells blocked memory formation. Extracting it would probably be quite painful as well, mind magic always was. But they could probably give the knights a shot at it first. 

Kitty walked back to the elevator with Dan, her eyes distant as different courses of action ran through her head. It took her a second to answer Dan's question about her planet. "Nightblood is advancing nicely. I negotiated an official peace treaty with the werewolves, designated territories and friendly boundary lines, made laws. There are trade lines open between the two species, herbs, food, jewelry, apparel. It took a couple months but they grew to trust each other enough that I now have werewolves living with vampires in my territory. Last month I officiated the first vampire/werewolf marriage. I've also whipped my soldiers into shape and I teach magic to those on the planet who want to learn." Kitty seemed proud of her own accomplishments, she had certainly matured a bit responsibility wise. But there was still that sarcastic trigger happy streak in her. "Currently your great great grandson and your niece are training there."

"Great grandson," Dan breathed with shock for a moment as they descended in the elevator. "Christ, Jaya's been busy then." He chuckled slightly, seemingly unphased by the news that her daughter had been getting busy in that kind of way. "Lets just hope they don't get any family traits from me then, huh?" His joking face dropped as the elevator doors open, at first preparing for a fight with the remaining droids, instead seeing the hallway cleared and lined with Omega Legion soldiers. 

Apprehensively Dan walked through the corridor, giving a confused look back at Kitty. "Didn't know we were getting backup." Eventually they made it outside where three dropships were stationed, the middle of which had its ramp down ready to take passengers. Infront of this ship four soldiers faced them, the commander of which spoke to Dan.
"The mission is complete?" He asked.
"Yep, got a copy of the logs and the protocol code. Turns out Lana used me to start the protocol."
"Very well," The commander replied, taking the disk and putting it away safely. After this he gave a nod to the soldiers behind them.

"Queen Kittiana, I'm going to have to ask you to step aside." One of the soldiers said, his hulking form moving forward with two others to place handcuffs on Dan. "Daniel Almis, by the order of her majesty Jaya Veilsong, and the Galactic Council, you are under arrest for mass murder, terrorism, practices and possession of dark magics, conspiracy to commit genocide, and numerous crimes that will be later detailed in an official court of Union law." 

The handcuffs clicked onto Dan's hands willingly, only a sigh coming from him. Now with his arms forced across each other by the bindings, he was pushed forward into the dropship. He turned his head to Kitty as best he could, trying to make sure she didn't do something stupid.

"Queen Kittiana, Queen Jaya asks that you attend the trial on Earth in 24 hours." The commander nodded, before retreating back with the rest of the soldiers into the dropships for takeoff.

"Jaya wouldn't need to be busy moron. He's Sylvana's kid. I thought you would at least understand basic genetics." Kitty rolled her eyes, leaning against the wall of the elevator. Suddenly a small purple flame appeared in front of Kitty, who didn't seem surprised and held her hand under it, watching as a note dropped into her hand before the fire disappeared. She read over it quickly, then burned it to ash with her own fire. "Dakora split as per usual, said she'll see me back at the castle." 

When they exited the elevator Kitty was ready for a fight as well, and just as confused to see the soldiers. "We aren't. At least I wasn't told about this." Kitty stepped forward, just a little bit in front of Dan as her eyes narrowed. She remained quiet as Dan and the soldier spoke, but a livid expression crossed her face when she was told to stand aside and Dan was arrested. Not a word came from her mouth as the handcuffs were clicked onto Dan's wrists, and she completely ignored his look. The look on her face was scary, there was both anger, defiance, and a look in her eyes that said she already had a plan. And that it was a very bad one. 

"You will inform Queen Jaya Veilsong that I will be arriving to meet with her shortly. Alone. Please extend my displeasure of this situation to her and that if a trial shall come to pass I will not be on the side of the prosecution." She told the soldier before he left, her hands curled into fists as her plan began to form in her mind. It was most certainly a horrible plan.
