While they can be slightly stronger physically, Nephilim are still partly Human in origin, meaning they're susceptible to all the same things as Humanity.

While many Nephilim choose to live a normal life as Humans, many members of the race also join the ancient order of Shadowhunters. Shadowhunters are an order of devoted warriors who specialize in combat and rune magic. All Nephilim are descendants of the Archangel Gabriel in some way, though the Shadowhunter order worships him like a god and in his honour, they have devoted themselves to protecting the universe from the darkness of Demonkind.

Originally descended from the famed warrior Archangel Gabriel, Nephilim are now an extremely uncommon sight in the galaxy. This is because Nephilim are both indistinguishable from normal Humans aside from the Runes that they have all over their body and because many prefer to keep to themselves, using cloaking runes to hide themselves from all but their own race and other supernatural beings.

After ancient Nephilim discovered that they had a natural affinity for Rune Magic, they began to train themselves and their descendants in the art, creating and mastering many different Runes so that they could be equipped for any situation. Nephilim within the Shadowhunter order, however, prefer to rely only on Runes that were created by their order as those Runes are specifically engineered towards the life of a Shadowhunter.
