| LOCATION: CHIRON
Doctor Hubert McMillan walked down the hallway towards his lab. His assistant, Doctor Miles, was already in there waiting for him to start their next project. This one was set to be bigger than any of their previous endeavors. It wasn't just a weapons development project, it was armour.. and not just any armour. He hoped that Dumont had arrived on time, they couldn't afford any delays at this point. Admiral Yusuf himself had commissioned this project and made it clear that each moment of delay would not be something they could risk at this point. |

| Dumont had indeed arrived on time, having nothing else to do on Chiron or even in Union space. He was somewhat a ghost among this new government. Whilst Captain Dumont of the UNSC was still in their records, very few people would believe his return in the form of a backup clone provided by Dan Almis.
Luckily though, it seemed someone had believed it. William had been allowed back into the military in a way the officers had not fully disclosed yet. Something secret and classified of course, which made him half-think it was a trap set up by some remnant of ONI.
Dispelling his fears however, he awaited some information or instruction on what he was doing here. |

| "Captain William Dumont?" A security guard called out to him from the other side of the waiting room. "The lab is this way, sir. Follow me."
After a five minute walk through a bunch of corridors and one elevator, Dumont was lead to a large laboratory. The inside of it was huge, with small workspaces, testing stations and different experimental machinery decorating different parts of it. A few mechanics and scientists scurried here and there with some security guards situated around the lab.
Dumont was lead to one of the larger workstations, complete with a large workbench that had different tools and experimental equipment on it. Next to the workbench, two scientists stood and turned to greet him as he approached. The older scientist stepped forward to shake his hand. "Doctor Hubert McMillan, and this is Doctor Miles, my assistant." The man said. "As I'm sure you'll understand, we'll need to get this project underway fast. Tell me Captain, how much do you know about Project: OMEGA?" |

| "That's me." Dumont replied with a nod, promptly following the guard. It took everything he had to suppress paranoia about the whole situation along the way, but after the many corridors and the elevator he finally found himself amidst some scientists. Once he reached the man who looked in charge, he accepted the hand shake firmly.
"Straight to the chase, lovely." He smiled, giving a nod to the man's assistant as well. "They didn't tell me anything, but with all the secrecy I'm going to assume it's something important, and with my involvement it must be military-based." William shrugged, unsure on anything else he could guess or discern from the whole thing. |

| McMillan nodded at Dumont before leading him to a different table. He tapped on its surface and a hologram popped up of a SPARTAN-IV. "Perhaps you're aware, ever since the Battle of Haven the number of active SPARTAN-IVs dropped substantially from hundreds to just under forty. Over the six years since the conflict, and this figure has dropped to thirty. With the discontinuation of SPARTAN-IVs having already occurred in 2555, the Union is running low on supersoldiers. Project: OMEGA aims to provide a solution to this problem." Hubert explained.
Doctor Miles walked over to the table and tapped it a few times. "What Doctor McMillan is saying, is that we're going to develop a new supersoldier program, the Omega Legion. It will be a huge advancement from what we achieved with the Spartans and will hopefully be the next step in the field of surgically and chemically enhanced infantry. The reason as to why we chose you is because you're the only non-Spartan to be a superhuman. We intend to have you be the subject of the series of tests we will conduct in the process of the creation of the Omega Legion. Hopefully with your help, we will be successful in this project."
"First," McMillan said, "We will need to prepare you physically for the tests. Please follow me." The two scientists lead Dumont to a closed-off section of the lab. "Within this room is a holographic simulation of a real-world battlefield scenario. All hostile units are holographically projected and fire low-level stun rounds designed to inflict pain solely. You will be sent into this simulation without any gear whatsoever. Your objective? Eliminate all hostiles." A security guard came up to Dumont and handed him an Executioner pistol. "Whenever you're ready, Captain." Miles said.
As soon as Dumont would have entered the holographic room, the door behind him would close automatically. He'd find himself in a very life-like forest environment. The area was reasonably quite large and allowed room for a lot of movement and running. The edges of the arena were lined with large concrete walls which boxed him in. Despite this, the arena itself was quite open. Already, a few human soldiers came into view - holographically projected rebel soldiers. Upon seeing him, one of them shouted something to the others and they immediately fired in his direction. |

| "I see, that makes sense." Dumont nodded as he examined the hologram of the SPARTAN-IV, remembering seeing them in battle. For a brief second his mind cast back to the stories of Aaron-157, and more recently his missions with the spartan Sebastian. They were loyal and strong soldiers of the UNSC, and now it seemed the GSU wanted to continue that idea. "Yeah, whatever Dan pumped this clone with worked..." He looked down at himself for a moment, taking in his strong physique.
"About time I get to shoot some bad guys though." William smiled, taking the Executor pistol and weighing it in his hand whilst he entered the arena. "This seems new..."
Suddenly enemies appeared, shouting and beginning to fire upon him. His military training kicked in instantly and forced him to roll aside from the fire. Once stopped in a stable kneeling position, he fired off three short bursts of pistol fire, managing to take down two targets. The reason the other targets were missed was because there was a certain explosive surprise firing out of the gun.
"Christ..." William looked down at the pistol in somewhat awe, before rushing forward in a bid to avoid more gunfire. With superhuman speed aiding him, he reached two hostiles almost immediately and slammed his fist into one, dissipating the hologram instantly from it's chest. He then raised his arm to blocked the second's gun, firing the Executor into it's head and watching it fly backwards from the force.
Wasting no time, his aim turn 180 degrees to shoot down two more targets. It was clear his enhancements not only affected physical ability, but also cognitive. Finally a group of three enemies came to his left, to which Dumont dashed over and swept out the legs of the first opponent. Firing a shot down at him, he then turned to deliver to final and rapid shots to his right, taking out the heads of the last two holograms.
"Well," Dumont breathed, adrenaline pumping through him. "Just like old times." |

| "Not even a challenge..." Doctor Miles observed. "Perhaps we should increase the odds a little?" McMillan looked at the results for a minute. The lab's dedicated AI was able to monitor and capture performance as well as create statistics based off that performance. Dumont's reflexes, speed and decision making capabilities seemed to be exceptionally high - enough to rival that of an unarmoured Spartan. McMillan then looked at Miles and nodded. Miles reached down and typed a few commands into his personal data pad, before the two went back to observe the exercise.
Within the holographic battlefield, the same amount of soldiers as before materialised. However this time they were accompanied by an oudated Warthog Jeep, complete with a driver, a passenger and a gunner on the back that shot more painful versions of the training rounds. A drop pod seemed to fall out of the sky and slammed down onto the ground near him. A small case opened up to reveal a few more clips for his Executioner.
While it would take a few seconds for the enemy infantry to reach him, the Warthog would be able to maneuver around the map very easily with much greater speed, posing a much larger threat for him. |

| "Round 2, huh?" William moved back to the drop pod, recovering several clips for his pistol. Without further ado he then shot out from cover, sprinting adjacent to the incoming warthog whilst firing covering shots from his pistol to put off the driver and gunner. By the time the gunner caught onto his movement and began firing, his bullets trailed too slowly behind Dumont's path. This gave Dumont the advantage of flanking behind the vehicle and firing a single shot into the spine of the gunner, taking him out instantly.
By now more infantry were approaching from the east, but William had a plan. Sprinting towards the vehicle whilst delivering two precise shots to the heads of the driver and passanger, he leaped onto the back and took hold of the gun. There was no way he could turn the vehicle the right way from here and so with all his strength, which was quite alot, he shot the stand of the gun and ripped it up from the vehicle.
Heaving it around 180 degrees, William opened fire on the now approaching infantry, who were mowed down helplessly by its onslaught. Once done he threw the turret aside and reloaded his pistol.
"Anymore?" |

| "Uh, did he just..." "Most impressive." McMillan commented. "What do we have for the final round?" Miles tapped a few times on his data pad. "We... have quite a selection. Flamethrower troops, Covenant Simulations, Hostage Situation, Hand-to-Hand-" "What do we have for hand-to-hand?" McMillan interrupted. Miles tapped on the option and read the description. "It says here that the simulation holographically projects a dozen troops modelled after our more specially trained Elite Commandos. They all spawn with an electric baton each. Any weapon the candidate may be carrying will be remotely disabled so they'll be forced into uh, using their fists or whatever weapon they can procure from the holograms."
"Perfect, let's use that one." McMillan said. Miles nodded. For the final test on the field, a dozen Elite Commando troops spawned, each carrying an electric baton which again, were designed to inflict excrutiating pain. At the same time, Dumont's pistol's firing mechanism was jammed through remote detonation of a mini explosive near the barrel of the firearm. The troopers were already advancing and it would only be a few seconds before they got into attacking range... |

| "Really?" Dumont snickered at the incoming melee units, simply raising his pistol and pulling the trigger at the first enemy. However when nothing happened he slowly nodded in understanding. "I see how it is...". Instantly wasting no time he threw the pistol at the face of a right hand target, following it to get behind the dazed enemy. Once there, he kicked down the back of his knee and swiftly snapped his neck. By the time the others reached him he vaulted over the downed soldier, pushing his body into several on his left to buy him some time. On the right he blocked an incoming baton, grabbing the holograms wrist and swinging him around in an arm lock into then trajectory of another baton. Subsequently knocked out by his own ally, William then kicked him into that person's legs before delivering a swift strike to the head to knock them out aswell. Now the enemies behind him had gained on him, swinging with a baton that he narrowly dodged near his stomach. Once past him he grabbed the opponents hand, twisted it to break the wrist and snatch the baton. With a weapon struck swiftly and powerfully up at the chin and then down at the forehead, knocking down that target. Two last enemies lunged for him at the same time, to which Dumont parried into one of them. Catching their arm with the baton and causing them to drop their weapon, he threw them down and smacked them straight in the face with his. The last enemy reached over the body to get Dumont, but he used the baton against his elbow to initiate an arm lock, yanking down hard to then break the arm. Stepping back from the mess of holographic injuries, William dropped his baton and wiped his palms. |

| Upon completing the task, the holographic simulation collapsed and Dumont now found himself standing in an empty white room. The door from which he entered the room opened automatically. Upon leaving the simulation room, Doctor Miles was there to meet him. "That was a fantastic display, Captain. Just the kind of thing Doctor McMillan and I are looking for. I am sure you'll be eligible for the surgical enhancements."
Doctor McMillan walked over. "It seems that you have exceeded our expectations. The next step is armour testing." He said. "We have developed a rudimentary form of the OMEGA armour using the existing GEN2 MJOLNIR armour worn by Spartan-IVs. Follow me." The two scientists lead him to an armour-fitting station akin to the ones you see in the Iron Man films. "You'll need to change into an undersuit first." McMillan said. Another scientist handed him a skin-tight suit that was rubbery but with the texture of metal. McMillan gestured for him to use a nearby changing room to change into the undersuit. After he'd have finished, McMillan would ask him to step onto the pedestal, at which point the machines rotated around him and fitted the modified armour onto him, the helmet being lowered onto his head last.
"As mentioned before, this suit is a heavily modified version of the traditional MJOLNIR used by Spartans. It is composed purely out of Kalgenite, with an advanced energy shield generator that is powered by crystals lent to us by the Fae." McMillan explained. "There are also weapons built into the suit, but we'll come to that later. Feel free to move around a bit and get a feel for it. You won't feel any of the armour's weight on you at all, as if it is second skin. You may also find that the armour increases the speed at which you make even the slightest gesture, so do be careful and adapt at your own pace." |

| "Thanks, it's been a while since I've shot at things." Dumont smirked, following the scientists yet again. This time there was a suit of armour on display, ready to be assembled around him. He examined it's parts for a moment, noticing the differences from the Spartan armour he had been used to seeing on the battlefield. Once he had taken it in, he quickly got changed into the undersuit provided.
"Damn, this thing's tight." He said, smoothing down it's material before heading over to the station. As instructed he stood on the pedestal and the fitting arms did their work, slotting the armour on each part of his body. It secured tightly on each edge, filling up like a jigsaw until finally the helmet slid down on his head.
An obviously prototype, yet different than he had previously seen, HUD dotted around his view as the suit activated. He raised a hand to examine himself, but the movement was increased more than he expected, instead smacking himself in the face. "Oh," William said calmly, as the helmet had done a good job protecting him from what would have been a painful hit. "This is... something else..." He stepped down from the pedestal, careful to control his fast movements.
"It barely feels like I'm wearing anything." His head turned to test his vision, whilst his other limbs moved and turned to see the limits as well. "Miles better than my old suit, but don't tell Dan I said that." |

| Doctor Miles smirked as Dumont accidentally smacked himself. Hubert instead smiled as he saw the Captain begin to adapt relatively fast to the suit. "Very good." He said as he observed the prototype working perfectly.
"We are now going to run a series of field examinations to test the prototype's durability. Don't worry about getting hurt by the way, the second any breach occurs in the suit, the weaponry will be deactivated." Hubert explained. "Now, follow us to the testing chamber.
Upon reaching the testing chamber - a large cylindrical room at least 100 meters in diameter and a few stories in height, Dumont was instructed to step in and stand at the center of the room and stay still as much as possible. As soon as he did so, a section of the floor a few meters in front of him opened up to reveal an ascending prototype chaingun. Once it was level with the floor, the rotating chaingun unleashed a barrage of 12.7x99mm armour-piercing rounds at a rate of 500 rounds a minute... enough to tear through the titanium armour plating of both infantry and vehicles alike in seconds.
However, the prototype armour seemed to effectively tank each shot as if it were nothing. While this was a durability test, it was also a test to see if the suit's gyrostabilisers worked which would help with person inside the suit maintain balance while moving around in it. While Dumont seemed to be able to walk around in the suit fine, they wanted to test how long Dumont would be able to maintain his balance against the rapid impact of each round.
After a minute, the chaingun ceased firing and lowered back into its compartment. It was then, a few seconds later, replaced with another chaingun. Dumont was again requested to stand still and try to maintain his balance as much as possible. The chaingun again opened fire but this time the rounds it was using were explosive. Each shot that hit the suit generated a small explosion upon impact, which exerted a lot more kinetic energy on Dumont. After thirty seconds, two more chaingun turrets rose up from different sides of the room and also opened fire at the suit from three different angles now. Despite the violent onslaught of explosive rounds being shot at it at a high rate, the suit effectively withstood the attacks for another thirty seconds before an internal alarm within the suit sounded.
At the top of the HUD were the words: ALERT: ARMOUR BREACHED. At that second, the chainguns ceased firing. Doctor McMillans voice came through the comms immediately afterwards. "Captain, I am going to activate one of your suit's internal weapon systems. These shoulder-mounted laser projectors are designed for precision targeting and eliminating hostiles as soon as possible."
The three chainguns lowered back down. Seconds later, four targets rose up in front of Dumont: humanoid models dressed in some sort of experimental armour that was sleek in design.
"This is one of our latest developments. A new combat harness for our Colonial Marine troops. The harness lacks an energy shielding but is designed to disperse shots from heat-based weapons such as plasma rifles but it has also been hardened against ballistics to an extent thanks to the kalgenite metal that we have discovered." Just then, Dumont's HUD changed and now a targeting software had taken its place, placing a circular reticule in the middle of the screen. "Go ahead and use the targeting reticule to select the four targets to fire at. All you need to do is deliberately think it and your suit will automatically target them. To fire the lasers, all you'll need to do is deliberately think it and the lasers should successfully cut through the targets in less than three seconds." |

| "I can withstand abit of a beating," Dumont nodded, proceeding in the suit as instructed. Once in position he braced himself, especially when seeing a chaingun rise from the floor. His eyes squinted as the firing started, yet there was only the sound of metal on metal with very little force. The suit seemed to absorb most of the impact itself and keep him upright.
"Ha, this is great!" William looked down at the suit once the firing stopped, thrilled that it was barely affected. By this time though another chaingun appeared, and so he remained still as instructed. Now it seemed to be explosives firing at him, exerting more force he could actually feel but not enough to severely affect him. Only when the second chaingun fired could he feel a great difference, eventually ending in the HUD warning when a third chaingun came.
"Bloody hell..." Dumont breathed a sigh of relief as the guns stopped. "Never taken that much of a beating before, and lived atleast..." His instructions then came through regarding the lasers, the 'deliberate thinking' controls impressing him. Eager to try this out, he scanned his gaze across the targets; focusing his thoughts on targeting them. As he did so the HUD lit up with locking icons, eventually signalling a 'ready to fire'.
Fire. His mind commanded, and the lasers obeyed. Shooting out instantly, they burned into the targets and created sizzling noises. After several seconds they cut straight through to the other side, shutting the lasers off once he mentally commanded them again.
"Damn..." |

| A few minutes later, Dumont was out of the suit and in his normal clothes again. Doctor McMillan approached him once he was finished - this would be the part where the Captain would make a choice. This was the part where he decided if he personally wanted to go forward with his project or not.
"The next step, Captain.. if you should choose to go forward with it, will change your life forever." McMillan began. "You are already beyond peak human performance, a superhuman as we all know. However, the prototype that you tested was only a rudimentary version of the final product. We will be needing to perform... augmentations on your body. Chemical enhancements, permanent ones, that will make you a lot stronger than you already are. Theoretically speaking, you will be just as strong as a Spartan is IN armour." Hubert finished as he rubbed his chin.
"The mortality rate for this augmentation is around 30% for normal humans. While developing these chemical enhancements, we started with the SPARTAN-IV augmentations which had a 0% mortality rate." Miles said. "From there we worked our way forward to develop better, more advanced procedures that would produce better results. Procedures that will allow Legionnaires to be as Spartans are IN armour... out of armour. All of this will of course prepare candidates to actually use the finalised version of the suit because, simply put, they'll be the only ones strong enough to actually wear them."
"For you, the mortality rate drops down to a mere 3%. A very low probability that may only occur in the event we use faulty equipment which, given our strict guidelines about maintenance in the lab, is highly improbable." McMillan said. "So Captain, are you willing to put yourself forward as a test subject? To become the first Legionnaire?" |

| "I'm listening." William said with curiosity, checking himself for any bruises or marks from the suit while he listend to the Doctor speak. There were alot of statistics and numbers, something about mortality rates, but altogether he caught on to what the scientists were trying to say.
"3% huh?" He smirked, contemplating the decision for a few moments. There was no family and hardly any friends left for him in what was now the Union, or in the galaxy at all. Those he knew from the Knights now no longer benefited from his as a Naval Captain. Perhaps this was his way of rejoining the fight. A second chance at fighting evil.

| A few minutes later, Dumont was now laying down on an operating table, his limbs strapped down so his movement did not hinder the process.
Connected to his chest, legs and arms were different wires that measured and if necessary, regulated heartbeat through electric shocks. The wires were connected to a machine fixed underneath the operating table. The machine also monitored other vital bodily functions for any signs of irregularity.
A scientist walked over to Dumont and injected into his arm a transparent chemical designed to prepare the body's cells to adapt to the chemical changes about to be made to it rather than reject them completely as it was normally likely to do.
From above Dumont, a set of green lights activated and projected lasers down onto his body. These "langer lines" covered his chest, abdomen, legs and arms in order for the Doctors to know where to attach each apparatus - like a jigsaw puzzle.
Doctor Miles and another scientist walked over on each side of Dumont and placed onto the two upper parts of his chest a panel each, making sure they were fitted within the area marked by the laser-projected lines. Each panel had a series of very thin, pointed metal spikes that stuck out from underneath. The two scientists carefully pressed these panels down into his flesh until the needles penetrated the skin and continued to be inserted deep into the flesh until the panel itself made contact with his chest.
The other side of each panel had a massive tube connected to each of them which were connected to a large machine that had eight test tubes containing blue liquid inserted into the top of it. The same was done with smaller sized panels to his upper arms, forearms, quadriceps and calves. The final two panels, only slightly smaller than the ones on his chest, were fitted on both sides of his abdomen, inserting needles into his abdominal muscles. All of these panels were also connected, through tubing, to the same machine on top of which the test tubes were inserted.
As the other scientists finished their job, they walked away from Dumont, towards their designated consoles in order to begin the procedure. Doctor McMillan walked over to his side and looked down. "Comfortable, Captain?" He asked. "I'd be lying if I said this wouldn't hurt." He confessed. "The solution that we injected you with has a dose of painkilling chemicals in it too. It should help but still, don't expect the process to be too pleasant. Worst comes worse, we put you into an induced coma should anything... serious happen but, that's not likely."
There was a reason as to why McMillan was saying this. Normally it'd be deemed inappropriate to inform the subject of an experiment that they WILL feel pain but in this case, raising Dumont's heartbeat was crucial. While McMillan doubted the man to easily feel fear, he reckoned that he'd still give it a try. |

| "Christ, it's like the school nurse all over again." Dumont said, trying to bring something humorous to the table as his surroundings were rather bleak and worrying. Lots of lights and tubes gave the feel of an evil experiment film, but he knew better than to hold any fear over that fact. "Agh," He winced slightly as the needles went in, but seemed unphased afterwards. "Yeah, I'm good."
"Well, I've felt what dying is like so, can't imagine much worse." William half-shrugged, atleast as much as he could now in the tight space of the apparatus surrounding him. As the Doctor wanted his heart rate did increase, but outwardly he maintained a mostly calm composure. |

| Hubert smiled at the humourous comments made by the Captain. "Good luck." He said as he walked away and took his place at one of the consoles. He tapped a few buttons before looking at Doctor Miles.
"Begin the excitation process." He said. Miles nodded and tapped a few buttons on his console screen. The machine on top of which the eight test tubes were inserted were then zapped with a current of electricity, causing the blue liquid inside the tubes to bounce around inside and turn slightly brighter until they were dimly glowing. Miles then looked to Doctor McMillan, who then looked over to the scientist on his right.
"Activate the automatic electroshock protocols. Keep them monitored though, just in case the dosage being given exceeds the limit." The scientist nodded. "Yes sir." He tapped a few buttons which caused a slight electrical feeling to pass through Dumont's body, seemingly originating from the wires attached to him that were designed to monitor his organ functions and heart rate.
McMillan then looked back over to Doctor Miles. "Begin the injection process." "Alright, here we go." Doctor miles hit a few buttons and the glowing blue liquid slowly sank from the test tubes into the machine. Seconds later, the glowing liquid reappeared and traveled down the different tubes connected to the different panels attached to Dumont's body and travelled down, through the needles and injected into his bloodstream.
At this point, Dumont would feel a small burning in his body as the blue liquid chemical traveled throughout his body and into every blood vessel. "Everything okay Captain?" McMillan asked. After receiving his response, he looked over to another scientist at the opposite end of the room who strangely looked a lot like Dominic Cooper and nodded.
The scientist slid his goggles down over his eyes and gripped a lever that was pointed upwards. He then slowly slid the lever down, centimeter by centimeter. The more the lever descended, the stronger electrical current was passed through the panels into Dumont's body which slowly enhanced the burning sensation more and more. "That's 10 percent... 20, 30 percent." He slid the lever down halfway. "That's 50 percent!" |

| At first there was only the slight tinglings and feelings coursing through Dumont, such things he could handle. His mind drifted slightly onto other matters; wars and life. Whether he should have stayed with the Nypherians. Whether he could have prevented his own death. Now his thoughts were drifting to darker matters. Did these things actually matter though? There was a future in the GSU now. In this 'Legionnaires'.
"All good." Dumont replied. The pain began to ramp up as percentages were called out increasing. He put off most of it by thinking again. This time it drifted way back, to his battles alongside Dan and other supernaturals. Even further it drifted back to his family. The demons that came to kill them...
The pain increased so much he felt as though he could barely stay conscious, but a small part of him drove on. That part that remembered his family and the way they were brutally killed. The part that remembered the war she fought in their memory to defeat the demons. If another threat like that came to the Union, Dumont wanted to be the one protecting it.
That is how he endured the pain, with her image in his mind. |

| "One hundred percent!" Doctor Cooper called out. McMillan looked over to Dumont. His skin complexion had turned a shade of red, excluding his blood vessels that glowed blue through his skin. The man was also clearly in pain. He quickly retrieved a syringe and walked over to Dumont, injecting him with a small dose of the liquid inside - enough to make him pass out.
McMillan then looked over to the scientist monitoring Dumont's organs. "The chemicals are bonding to his body." The scientist said. "The secondary agent has also been released by the nanobots we injected in him. They're latching onto his skeletal structure at the moment. Shall I deliver a shock?" "Not yet, wait a moment." McMillan replied. He then turned to observe the physical changes being slowly made to Dumont's body. His muscles had almost tripled in size, and the actual size of his body started to increase to accommodate the increase in muscle mass. The straps that held his limbs down began to strain against the pressure exerted on them from the increase in size.
"My...God..." Doctor Miles said in awe as he observed the changes. This was the first time such changes had been observed to be so immediate. The chemical cocktail was combined with a wide range of drugs that were designed to increase muscle strength, improve nerve impulse and inhibit growth in the body. The cocktail also included a few million nanobots that were designed to release a secondary chemical made to latch onto the subject's bones and inhibit growth as well as toughen the skeletal structure.
"Deliver the shock, doctor." McMillan said. The scientist who was in charge of the monitoring hit a few buttons and a powerful shock was sent into Dumont's body. "It's working! The chemical is bonding to his bones as well, his immune system is accepting the foreign substances in his bloodstream, it's a success!"
A Few Days Later...
Dumont had been in a comatose state for three days now. He had been placed under constant monitoring. A few times his vitals had spiked as parts of his body still struggled to adapt to the sudden changes made to it. However with some addition of more chemical agents and controlled electric shocks, the serum had successfully bonded to the man's skeletal structure as well as musculature and nervous system.
"The results have come through, Doctor." Doctor Miles said as he joined McMillan's side. He had been watching over Dumont for a few minutes now. The Captain was laid on a hospital bed inside a small room that had one door to it and some medical equipment placed around the bed. There was a smaller room connected to it through another door and a viewing window through which Doctor McMillan was monitoring him. "Go ahead, Miles." "In his current condition, Captain William Dumont stands at around 8-foot tall. He has enough muscle mass and density, which further enhanced by the chemicals we injected, should enable him to lift up to 15 tonnes without any aid. Judging by skeletal integrity and again, muscle mass as well as the strength of his tendons, he should be able to sprint at speeds up to 50 miles an hour."
"What do we have for reaction time?" McMillan asked. "Well... that depends on what we can observe." Miles replied. |

| "William..."
Dumont's eyes opened to a bright room, yet again radiating a deep scientific feel. The room wasn't his main focus however, as instantly he could feel a difference in himself. Steadily he pushed himself up, wires falling from his noticeably enlarged form as he moved. Now sat on the edge he looked around, his vision focusing onto the Doctors.
"This is... new..." William stared down at his hand, spotting the differences in size and feature. Spotting a large table to his left, he stood up and approached it. A singular hand reached under, beginning to lift the furnishing as if it were nothing.
"It worked then..." He lowered the table, looking back at the Doctors. There was a slightly new look in his eyes too, coupled with a darkening of the hair. "I feel... unstoppable... |

| The two Doctors observed as Dumont got up and tested his own strength. Despite just listing the projected strength feats, both scientists felt surprised actually seeing the Captain put his physical prowess to the test, and the small sample that they had just witnessed already looked promising... however it wasn't enough.
"Hopefully you will be, Captain." Doctor McMillan said through a microphone from behind the glass. "However, we'll need to put that to the test."
The door to the room slid open a marine guard walked in, before snapping into a crisp salute towards the Captain. "This is Isaac, he's been working closely with us and testing the latest weaponry that we have been fielding. Please follow him to the canteen." "This way sir." Isaac said as he eased himself. He placed a pair of shoes down in front of the Captain for him to wear, after which he walked out of the room and lead Dumont to the canteen which was filled with multiple long tables. Some of them had squads of off-duty marines sitting at them and chatting away while others were empty. A few marines turned to stare at the Captain who had quickly become the center of attention as he now stood at the height of seven feet.
One of the empty ones had on it multiple plates full of food of different kinds ranging from meat and chicken to fruits and vegetables. There were also multiple jugs of water. "Help yourself sir." Isaac said as he gestured to one of the seats. |

| "Of course," Dumont replied, examining himself once more as he followed the marine to the canteen. In there it was obvious he had drawn some stares and attention, since now he noticed how he seemed to tower above those around him. Nevertheless he continued to the empty seat containing food, sitting down on it and looking at what was available.
Without much waiting he tucked in, first devouring legs of chicken with his right hand whilst readying a strip of bacon in his left. Within a few moments he had worked well through half of the meat, even beginning to pick at some of the smaller vegetables and fruit. To top it all off he chugged down a large amount of water, before wiping his mouth with a satisfied smile.
"Food definitely tastes... different..." |

| Isaac took one of the remaining chicken legs and took a bite. "I dunno sir," he said. "Still tastes pretty good to me." After finishing off the leg, he gestured towards the exit. "Shall we?"
He lead the Captain out of the canteen and after a few minutes, they arrived at a locker room. "Doctor McMillan gave me prior instructions to brief you on your next test. You'll be placed in a combat environment where your mission will be to neutralize all hostiles before they get to do the same to you. There's a pair of civilian clothes within that locker." He said as he pointed to a locker right next to Dumont.
"You'll be wearing those during the test. Weaponry will need to be scavenged for on the battlefield. You may take a minute to rest here if you need to before starting the test. When you're ready, put those clothes on and go through that other door. Follow the tunnel down until you come out into a field. That's when the test will begin. Good luck sir." And with that, Isaac turned and walked out of the locker room. |
