OVERVEIW: Asmelia and the other planets in the Eon triangle are equipped with several large automated rail-guns. these were intended to disable shields of identified large space craft entering the atmosphere to deter them from attacking the planets. although these security measures are not instant. If the unidentified vessel does not identify itself or a high ranking personal doesn't identify it, the guns will fire hitting the ship and hopefully scaring the crew members and sending them away. If the Rail-guns do not scare the ship away, however, the guns will attempt to lock onto the vessel and fire again causing damage, but not to catastrophic. But if the ship continues to persist it will take the ship as a threat unless there is a valid excuse for the ship hanging over the planet i.e Damages that dis-inhibit the vessel from leaving the atmosphere, diplomatic reasons, and defensive reasons. If there is a valid excuse for the ship to be hanging over the planet the guns will not fire on it leaving the shields intact.
DEVELOPMENT: These Rail-guns are made in the industrial cities of Asmelia where all the weapons and ships alike are built. due to the high energy of these guns the barrel itself is made of the same material of the ship hulls. They take years to build due to their enormus size and power all though they do have thier weaknesses. The defensive guns where first thought up by Samantha K. Lori of the Atrata Federation's Ground Combat and Utility Branch (GCUB) and was backed by the Atrata Federation's Aerospace Combat and Utility Branch (ACUB) and was finally approved by the Atrata Federation's Ministry of Space and Ground Defense (MSGD).
STATS: The guns are about 670 meters in length from the tip of the barrel to the base.
They are lacking, though, in power. it would take a couple of hits from the guns to destroy a ship. And due to the limited A.I the ship can lie and it could be translated as a valid excuse for the guns not to engage the vessel when in reality the vessel is a large threat. The cannons also lacks in any shields so can be attacked freely.
