Description

Given the limited capability of the Shonin-Class Freighters’ Cargo Containers to transport themselves, another ship had to be built: the Hipparu-Class Cargo tug. Initially designed to be a long-distance piloted mining craft for exploring distant asteroid belts and scrap fields. This role was quickly taken by the much more capable Scout Frigate. As a result, the original design scrapped its original extended cargo hold and facilities for clamps which could carry the Shonin’s cargo containers, though it retained the original arc-mining device due to its utility and potential for collecting resources for wandering exploration fleets.
