Description
An ancient and traditional weapon in Varanus history, the Vanaksite spear is mostly by the guards of the Citadel, the Zikah and certain units in the Legion such as the 44th Legion who employ "phalanx tactics". It's use is as much ceremonial as it is practical.
The spear is tipped with an sharpened Vanaksite crystal which is placed underneath an energy cell, the user can press on an switch located on the handles of the spear to release the energy cell's plasmic charge which would heat up the crystal and trigger it's electrical discharge. This discharge is used to pacify enemies non-lethally or disrupt weak insulated shielding.
The Crystal's charge can be used against the user if the hostile knows that the crystal can be overheated releasing an charge that travels all over the spear shocking the person holding it. Thus years of training is required to wield the spear properly but if wielded by an skilled user the spear could match several other melee attackers due to it's electrical charge's ability to daze targets.
The Spear is almost used exclusively by the Varanus mostly due to it's cultural significance and practical use as an defensive weapon.
