Strengths
Griffins are fast fliers, being the natural kings of the air on TK-47.
Weaknesses
They tend to be very territorial, with only one family in each plot of territory. One plot would be 4 or 5 miles.
Appearance
Griffins look like some sort of cross between a lion and an eagle. The females tend to be slimmer, relying and speed and dexterity more than the strength-relying males.
Culture
Griffins have a very family-centered culture. They will typically not attack unless they or their family is threatened. However, there are cases when a young, male Griffin cannot find a mate and is forced to live as a vagabond, stealing from other family's food sources. These lone griffins are generally looked down upon by most griffins, however, there have been cases when a Griffin family unit has taken in these loners and integrated them into their unit. In places with extremely abundant prey, Griffins have been known to group up in small communities and make a sort of settlement.
History
The Fenrir were once regular lion-like animals that lived in the plains. However, some time ago the only sentient species on TK-47 destroyed themselves and the planet in a global war. Having been extremely advanced in the use of biological weapons, they permanently altered the biology of the entire world. The Griffins are just one example of this.
While they are only semi-sentient, it would not go against belief that with cybernetic enhancements to their mental faculties, they could become fully sentient individuals.
