Description
With a crew size of 650 and a cargo capacity of sixteen thousand tonnes, the Riftcruiser is an above average cruiser capable of holding its own in space combat. The cruiser comes equipped with a state of the art combat training centre and a cargo hold large enough to hold twenty-four tanks and thirty-five troop transports alongside up to fifty-six starfighters and twenty gunships. While it is more than up to the task of handling combat situations, the living engine core powering the ship has caused the engines to be to be a little more volatile than your average cruiser when attacked with no shielding.
The Riftcruiser is also one of the few ships in the galaxy capable of opening a Riftgate and travelling between Rift space and the rest of the galaxy safely.
The Riftcruiser comes equipped with four heavy artillery cannons, two mounted on each side of the cruiser to the left and right sides of the port and starboard hangar bays. The cruiser also comes with seventy-five laser turrets capable of operating manually or via the ship's central defense computer. The final weapon the cruiser has in its arsenal is two sets of fourty proton torpedo launchers that can be found on the port and starboard sides of the ship's combat deck.
Each Riftcruiser has five decks
1. The Bridge - The bridge is where the cockpit and galaxy map can be found.
2. The Crew Deck - The Crew deck is the centre of most off-duty activity onboard each cruiser. Here you can the crews quarters, medbay, techlab, combat training centre and two nightclubs.
3. The Combat Deck - The combat deck is self explanatory. This is where everything regarding ship to ship combat is controlled and houses hubs for the cruiser's laser and artillery cannons as well as a command hub for defensive and cyberwarfare operations. The combat deck also holds the ship's armoury for ground troops.
4. Engineering - The engineering deck contains everything from life support to air conditioning and for the most part is little more than catwalks and pipes. This is where the cruiser's engine core and other systems unrelated to combat and travel are maintained.
5. The Cargo Bay - The cargo bay is also self explantory. It holds any cargo that a cruiser may be transporting such as medical and food supplies and also carries all of the ship's smaller vehicles such gunships, tanks and starfighters.
