History:
Yusuf Al Thani is a descendant of a prominent Middle Eastern caste that originated from Earth. Some of this family moved to other planets with the advent of Human colonisation. Yusuf Al Thani was born on one of the inner colonies: Ganymede - a satellite of the planet Jupiter; the largest planet in the Sol System.

Al Thani joined the UNSC Navy at a very young age and quickly rose to prominence amongst his peers in terms of performance in the Academy and was singled out by his superiors as one of the top students. Yusuf graduated very quickly and served as an Ensign on a UNSC flagship. Over the years, he rose to the rank of Captain in the wars against the Insurrection and then later on, the Covenant. Due to his flexibility in warfare tactics, Al Thani was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral (Lower Half) and now commands his own fleet comprised of Six Marathon-Class Heavy Cruisers and Fifty-Two Frigates comprising of different types.
