The objective was clear. Find and recover prisoners recently captured by ONI forces.
After a brief look over some non-classified intel found on the ONI servers, Ven had discovered the location of a medium security facility that was holding Supernaturals as prisoners. Naturally, Ven instantly left the Academy to go on a rescue mission.
After almost a day of riding his motorcycle, Ven neared his location, instead of finishing the whole journey via motorcycle, he left his bike in a hidden spot and proceeded to continue on foot through a nearby forest to get the drop on his enemies.

With the facility finally in sight, Ven perched himself on the side of a very steep hill overlooking the base. While riding, he had contacted Sebastian for assistance in his mission. While the mission didn't require all of the Knights to ensure completion, Ven felt more at ease with his situation knowing he had reinforcements.

"Hmm, if there was some way I could get inside before Sebastian, I could open the main gate and give his men an easier time with the initial assault." Ven carefully planned out his moves, looking towards the main gate, which was overlooked by two guard towers and patrolled by lightly armed soldiers outfitted with standard combat armour. Even if Ven could open the main gate, the entire rescue group was in for a tough fight.

"With my powers, they'd want me captured instead of killed for sure. Maybe I could use that to my advantage." Ven mumbled to himself trying to work out his plan. Those gates needed to be open by the time Sebastian's squad got here, and they were due any minute.

Without any further delay, Ven lept from the hill into the middle of the base, quickly getting the attention of all nearby ONI soldiers.
The soldiers quickly scanned him.
"Sir, what should we do?" One soldier asked his commander over his radio.
"Capture him, this one's rare" The commander started. "I want him alive."
The soldiers quickly moved in, surrounding Ven. They were right where he wanted them.

"Sorry to disappoint, but that's not going to happen..." Ven smirked as he heard the nearby Warthog that signalled Sebastian's arrival.
Quickly, Ven launched a fireball into the main generator of the facility, blowing it up and opening the main gates for Sebastian's team to enter, though they only had a short time to do so.

Sebastian's Warthog rushed through the opened gates straight towards the ODST's that surrounded Ven.
The Spartan manning the chaingun at the back, Valeryie Kalashnikov, turned her sights on the ODSTs and opened fire with stun rounds. The ODSTs had minimal time to react as the majority of their forces were quickly gunned down by the weapon - and Kalashnikov's precision aiming.

Spartan Natasha Masterson, who was sat on the side seat turned her attention with her Battle Rifle to some of the ODSTs that were making a frantic run for it, and gunned down a few before the rest managed to get to cover. She too was using stun rounds. Sebastian hit the brakes and steered right, sliding across the ground and halting right in front of Ven.

"You've got balls stepping within a hundred miles of this facility," Sebastian commented.

Ven looked at the new arrivals, obviously impressed.
"Well, I try..." He smirked slightly "But the mission's only just beginning, we need to get as many Supernaturals out of here safely as we can."
In that moment, the facility's alarms went off, alerting every nearby ONI facility that they needed reinforcements as soldiers started pouring out from inside the base.

"This is going to be fun."
Ven took his blade, pulling it from the sheath on the side of his belt as he launched into a flurry of attacks, dodging and blocking bullets as they were fired at him and his group.

The three Spartans themselves had donned different armour sets than their usual ones, all coloured black. This was to avoid accusations of treasons against the UNSC should any surveillance footage survive of this attack.

The Warthog was the center-point of the attack, with flurries of bullets impacting against the Warthog's light armour and shattering its windshield. "Controlled bursts you two, put one down and move on to the next one!" Sebastian commanded over their private comms as he drove the Warthog around, trying to evade the bullets. The three of them received their share of impacts as well, and their energy shields flickered, but did not dissipate just yet.

Spartans Kalashnikov and Masterson meanwhile maintained fire, firing at the ODSTs that were taking cover behind different pieces of scenery that had foolishly decided to reveal themselves - only to get shot down. Sebastian himself tried as much as he could not to crush their knocked-out bodies as he tried to steer his Warthog clear of incoming projectiles.

Ven sighed, he knew that the longer they took, the harder the mission would become.
"This is taking too long." He moaned, launching a fireball at an oil barrel placed near the doors that the ONI soldiers had taken defensive positions outside. The barrel explodes, engulfing most of the nearby soldiers in flames and killing them relatively quickly.

The group now had an opening and they had to take it. Knowing of the imminent enemy reinforcements, Ven took the lead. "Masterson, Kalishnikov, take up defensive positions and keep us covered. We'll be back soon." He ordered, beckoning Sebastian to follow as he ran into the base.

Erina could hear the battle from her cell. Not knowing exactly what was going on, she became more and more desperate to get free.
In an attempt to break through the shields on her cell, she began to fire torrent after torrent of lightning at them.
Her attacks were in vain though as nothing happened. It was then that a large explosion went off, the sound carrying through nearby corridors to the now frightened mage.

Masterson and Kalashnikov looked at each other, and then at Sebastian; obviously not used to taking orders from a supernatural, and one who they knew next to nothing about.
"It's alright, do as he says," Sebastian told them both, before following Ven.

He caught up quite quickly. As each guard tried their best to stop their in their tracks, Sebastian gunned them down very quickly using his Designated Marksman Rifle, which was also loaded with stun rounds, from afar. A few tried to lob grenades, but Sebastian skillfully shot each to prematurely detonate with his pistol - the only weapon he had that was loaded with live rounds.

After a few more minutes of the two fighting through ONI soldiers, the pair came to the main prison section of the facility. Rather than picking and choosing, Ven looked over at Sebastian and spoke. "I don't think we're in any position to be picky about who we save." He commented.
"I suggest we take as many as we can and those that survive to be extracted be sent back to the Academy." Ven continued, walking over to the main control console, igniting his fist in flames before destroying it and freeing the prisoners who quickly rallied around their two saviours.

"Listen up! There's the chance that not everyone will survive long enough to escape this hellhole. But I promise you we're here to help you get everyone to safety if possible. We need everyone's help in defending the facility until our rides out of here arrive. Who's with me?" Ven asked now that he and Sebastian were the center of everyone's attention.

Quickly everyone agreed and the group began to charge towards the entrance, working together as one to form a force to be reckoned with. When he laid eyes on Erina however, Ven pulled her to join him and Sebastian.

Erina was confused at first as to why Ven hadn't allowed her to join all the other Supernaturals in setting up new defences.
"Not you, kid" Ven ordered, pulling her away from the others and to him and Sebastian.
"Who are you people?" She asked, obviously still scared and untrusting of the people around her.
After all, who would blame her, given her current situation?
 
"My name's Ven, this is Sebastian." He replied, quickly continuing after a brief pause. "We're here to get everyone out of here, but primarily, we're here to rescue you."
Erina froze in shock. This was the first time in a long time that anyone had bothered with her.
"Why me?" She asked.

"We'll explain all that when you're safe, but for now, we need to get ready to fight until extraction arrives." Ven cut her off slightly, obviously now in a hurry.
"Speaking of, Sebastian, call in our birds and get us out of here, time to go." He turned to his comrade before the three of the left to get ready for the inevitable fight.

The group began boarding the dropship in order to make their escape. But ONI had other plans. Ven froze in shock for a moment before jumping away from the Pelican.
"Everybody get down!" Ven screamed as he jumped for cover, before a payload of missiles fired, hitting the Pelican out of nowhere and sending it flying out of control for a few moments.

A minute passed and the Pelican crashed violently into the ground, killing a few Supernaturals and ONI soldiers in the process as it became nothing more than a flaming wreck.

Ven opened his comlink quickly, shouting in all the chaos.
"Sebastian we need another extraction zone away from the facility!"
He continued. "Order everyone to evacuate to a secondary LZ!"

The man put away his comlink and redrew his blade. If anyone was to stand a chance at escaping, they would have to be bought some time to retreat.
"For Dan..." He whispered to himself before charging into battle once more and tearing soldier after soldier apart.

E"We're out of dropships sir!" Masterson said over the comms.
"Sebastian had just recovered from the explosion, having been on the Pelican when it was hit and luckily stumbled out of it before it flew out of control.
"Damn it... Kalashnikov, get to a vantage point and find us a path to escape. We'll have to do this onn foot.."

Sebastian rallied the remaining supernaturals together, and began to stand their ground against the ONI soldiers' assault. He ordered them to duck, scatter and attack and in doing so, kept them alive. Masterson aided him in keeping the supernaturals safe, tending to the wounded quickly while also providing cover for 
those who were frozen in terror.

Two winks came from his radar - it was Valeryie. The colour and pattern of the signal she just gave indicated that she wanted to show him something, as she herself was mute. Sebastian allowed her to patch a live video feed from her visor to the top right hand corner of the radar.
Valeryie had just located four troop carrier Warthogs. Excellent.

"Everyone, form up and follow my lead!" He shouted over the chaos, moving towards the garage that was now opening thanks to Kalashnikov infiltrating the control room. He ordered Masterson into one and got into the driver's seat of another. Three supernaturals got into his Warthog, and another three in Masterson's. The remaining four got into the fourth Warthog however Kalashnikov was nowhere to be seen. Their confusion was settled when she smashed out of a window of the control room, following two ONI troopers down and crushing them as she landed on them. She then sprinted across to the garage, got into the third Warthog and started up the engine.

"Our exit?" Sebastian asked.
Valeryie used her HUD to highlight a route and all they Warthogs immediately made a move for it, heading towards the gates.
"Ven, fall back, get into one of the Warthogs, we're leaving!" Sebastian said.

"I'm a Dragon! Fuck a Warthog!" Ven held back a laugh at his own joke.
"Go! I'll see you back at base!" He ordered, ignoring his friend and comrade to keep their pursuers busy just a little while longer.
He smiled as he saw Erina get on Sebastian's Warthog reluctantly.
"Keep her safe, she's the most important target!"

Communications quickly cut as Ven turned his focus back on the situation at hand. He was surrounded, though the ONI soldiers didn't seem to realize the complete nature of his powers.
He smirked, one arm becoming very draconic as it covered itself in scales and his hand and fingers turned into a large talon.

Moments after the survivors departed from the facility, it burst into flames in a wild explosion that Ven had obviously caused. With the base in flames and every nearby facility likely sending reinforcements, the survivors had a clear shot to escape.

A vicious battle raged on back at the facility however with gunships and troop transports arriving to help defeat Ven, but it was to no avail. He had bought his friends the time they needed to escape and now it was his turn to make a getaway.

In one final attack, Ven conjured up a fireball as large as two of the nearby gunships and slammed it into the ground. The resulting explosion wiping all of the ONI reinforcements and the facility itself off the map. With the mission complete, Ven shifted into his draconic form and took to the skies ready to meet up with the others back at the Academy.
