History
As a child, Evangeline showed an aptitude for manipulating magical energy to her whims and ends. There was much talk of a promising career as a Mage in a Circle or a Court, and she was groomed by her sage mother and wizard father for such a life.

However, her gift for magic attracted the attention of a being of the lower realms named Balthazadar. This being sought to take control of Evangeline's body and add her power to his own. He was successful in possessing her body partially, but she had a strong will to keep her mind, and fought with him every step. The result was severe pain in her cranium and involuntary spell-casting that caused serious damage and harm to the people and environment around her.

Prison proved to be a poor choice of containment, as the mixed unstable magics of Balthazadar and Evangeline both turned the prison into rubble. Death was another option, but Evangeline's parents begged for mercy, and to give her a chance to overcome her struggle.

It was observed that Evangeline had the most control over her body when she was unable to see and did not speak, so she was forcibly blinded and made mute. Furthermore, her keepers bound her in runic bonds that would assist her in keeping back Balthazadar's influence as she strived to master her abilities and keep the demon in check.

Unable to see the physical world as a normal person, Evangeline is, instead, able to see the vibrations and movements of the magical energies that swirled around the world and the people itself. It was through this magic-sight that she could see in a whole new way - a world of beauty and magical awe unlike the conventional world.

Every day, Balthazadar continues to attempt success. Every day, Evangeline confronts her inner turmoil while simultaneously trying to prove to herself and her peers that she had what it took to become a powerful mage despite her shortcomings.
