Description
With the ever expanding size of the UNSC, FLEETCOM found the need to design and produce a relatively cheap and effective flagship for UNSC fleets. Since most of the cruisers were too large and expensive to construct cheaply and effectively enough to meet the demand of an ever expanding sphere of control, naval designers came up with the Athena-Class Command Cruiser: A balanced ship capable of playing the role of flagship, carrier, and destroyer all in one package. While this ship is not as good as dedicated fleet roles, it’s versatility and uniquely specialized “Dumb” AI give it a central role to many fleets.
