"As if I got chosen for scouting duty...What's the point in going out to check on a dormant artifact in a ruin nobody knows exists anymore?" The girl mumbled to herself as she travelled through the snowy hills. It was almost a forty-five-minute journey between the College of Winterhold and her destination through a freezing cold tundra in the middle of nowhere. Erina hated the cold, but being enrolled at the college was worth it.
Eventually, Erina came across the ruins of Saarthal and stood still for a moment, taking the sight in of the ruined and decaying stone architecture. After a minute or two, she continued on her mission and soon found herself in a dark chamber, deep underground, that housed the fabled Eye of Magnus. Erina shivered as she saw the Eye again for the first time in two years.
Unfortunately, all was not as it should have been. Rather than being dormant as it had been since the battle of Winterhold, the eye was glowing, pulsing with life. Erina stopped in her tracks, looking around the chamber to see nothing but moss-covered stone carvings, rotting wooden supports and the occasional skeleton that had been decomposing for more than a thousand years. Something was very wrong, but before Erina could leave, she was stopped in her tracks by the sound of footsteps. She turned suddenly to face a mysterious figure that she couldn't make out in the dimly lit room.
"Who are you? How did you find this place?" Erina asked harshly, clenching her fists as they became engulfed in magical flames.
