Heart of Ice Empty
Public#1PostSubject: Heart of Ice   Heart of Ice EmptyFri Nov 10, 2017 11:48 pm

A small asteroid no bigger then a small car hurtles towards earth. The tiny asteroid completely goes unnoticed since its heading towards Antartica and is missing the several structures in orbit around the planet. The tiny asteroid enters the atmosphere, the flames licking the front of it, it doesn't seem to be breaking apart any, which was strange. All the same the asteroid smacked into the earth sending rock like ice chunks flying. The asteroid was actually a metallic material with several different engravings on the hull, it was a frozen hunk now, but at one time it was an extremely advanced piece of technology. A small figure lay among the wreckage, a female from in what seemed to be an upgraded plague doctor's mask and in a very torn up suit.

After three minutes she bursts awake, a loud gasp is heard. The small female makes her way out of the wreaked ship being assaulted by the cold arctic winds immediately. The female looks around, only ice, she was in the middle of a blizzard. She shivered, what ever she was she wasn't very adept for the cold. She walked back into the wreaked ship and came back out with a grey cloak that had seen better days.

The Antarctic winds howl, flakes of snow turning to ice nipping at the grey cloaked female. Her steps labored and slow in the deep snow. A hood covers her head as she marches through the bitter cold, frost already forming on the mysterious figure. She had no idea how she ended up where she was now, all she knew was that she was cold and needed to find shelter. All she remembers is she was in her ship when she was attacked, It was amazing how she managed to survive.

After what seemed like hours and several labored steps she soon stumbled upon what seemed like a bunker of some sort. She walked close to it. She shivered as she brought up a hand. Suddenly lines on the hand began glowing a dark violet with intricate swirls and dots, what seemed to be a flower was what the lines and dots made up, her hand only being a dark black the purple shone brightly. Hopefully bright enough for the inhabitants of the bunker to see.. She could only hope as she feel to her knees in the snow. "Help.." she whispered, but it was lost to the winds..

The "bunker" as the little girl seemed to have perceived it was actually a massive military complex located at some point towards the middle of Antarctica. The complex was circular shaped and several hundred meters in diameter. Not many people knew about this complex, and the few that did were typically high-ranking agents of the CIA.

The complex harbored a secret at its very center, and the complex was actually built around this secret in hopes of preserving its enigmatic status. At least until the team was able to uncover the artifact, and when they did... well, that's when everything would change...

The little girl's signal for help did not go unnoticed and almost immediately after the security cameras caught sight of her little light show, a squad of Army Troopers, dressed in the standard titanium-allow battle dress uniform pressure sealed against the cold, harsh climate marched out and quickly moved in towards the girl. They reached her and immediately formed a semi-circle around her, their Nightingale Plasma Rifle's aimed at her.

"Alright stand down, stand down!" The sergeant barked to his men. "Let's get her inside."
One of the men magnetically attached his plasma rifle to the back of his suit and scooped the girl up, hurrying after his squad-mates to get the girl inside as soon as possible.

An hour later, they had managed to get the girl out of her suit and she was placed in a warm room on a bed, covered in a large duvet with a doctor checking on her. The room was medium-sized, around 8x8 meters and its ceiling was three meters high. The walls and ceiling were completely white and the flooring was complete concrete. At one of the corners of the room was a security camera that provided a live feed directly into one of the screens in the base's security room.

Aside from the girl laying on the bed, the room was completely empty. The only door leading into the room was sealed shut.

Soon she came too, her small, blue, small eyes soon opened, she squinted exposing her tiny fangs that would feel like a common house cat biting someone. She blinked a few times and sat up, her obsidian black skin sparkling in the light of the room. She looked aroundand started nervously combing her silvery hair. She didn't know where she was but she hoped that she wasn't in any trouble.

She looked around once more seeing if there was anything in the room, there wasn't. She began to assume the worst and began crying. She was crying like a child, though she was most likely floating in cyro stasis for a century. She grabbed her legs and held them close to her chest as she cried. Little did she know she was the last of her kind.

After awhile of crying, sleeping, and inspecting her room she had finally gotten up off the bed. She slowly walked around on the cold concrete floor and surprisingly had finally noticed the camera in her room. She walked up too it curious as to what it was doing. "H..h..he..hello?" Her voice was barely a whisper, but it was picked up by the camera. She blinked twice and then returned to the bed to continue crying..

The door immediately slid open and a GSU army trooper walked in with a tray of food. He looked at the girl who had gotten up from the bed and walked over to the camera and stared for a moment before speaking to her.
"Hey, uhh.. here's some food." He walked into the room and was followed by two other men who carried in a table with two chairs. As they entered the room, the door immediately slid shut behind them.

The three men walked to the center of the room where the table was put down, and a chair on opposing sides of it. The marine with the food tray put it down on the table and beckoned the girl to sit and eat.
"Listen, there's no need to cry. You're safe here. Have some food." He said in his best attempt as a sympathetic voice.

All three of the troopers had Nightingale Plasma Rifles attached to their backs but none made any attempt to reach for their weapon, their postures indicated that they seemed relaxed. The first trooper remained stood next to the table while the second retreated back and leaned against the wall right next to the door, his arms crossed. The third trooper approached the door, which slid open to let him through before closing behind him.

The remaining two kept their gazes on the girl, expecting her to sit down and eat.

The young humanoid girl sniffed as she slowly made her way to the chair. She looked at the plate of food and back to one of the guards. Her blue eyes staring innocently into his, it wasn't uncomfortable, it was somewhat sad. She then looked back and picked up a peice of bread. She nibbled at it, she looked back up to the same guard and tore the bread in half handing one of the peices over to him.

She waited for him to take it and as she did so she nibbled on her half of the bread. She looked back over to her tray not putting the bread she was offering down. She then grabbed the drink on the tray. She took a sip, and then drank somemore. She put the glass down and let out a small sneeze.

She ate somemore, trying not to stare at the guards too much. "M..my.. my name is.. Arya.." she looked to the guard whom she was offering the bread half to. "Umm.." she said nervous.. "whats... your.. name.." she was timid and somewhat intimidated by the guards.

The guard looked down at her offering, somewhat surprised. He reluctantly took the piece of bread and nodded to her.
"Uh... thanks." He said. He used his other hand to remove his helmet, exposing a light-skinned African man with short dreads decorating his scalp. He took a bite out of the bread and watched the girl eat. He listened to her as she stuttered and told him her name.

The other guard watched and listened to the conversation intently, remaining silent. While they weren't specifically given the green-light to converse with the girl, he could understand why the other soldier was responding to her. Despite her evidently not being human, she was after all an innocent child. From the looks of it anyway.

"My name is Joel, I'm-" Suddenly the door slid open again. This time, a different looking man walked into the room. He was not dressed in the standard army trooper combat armour, but instead a three-piece suit consisting of a black blazer, black waistcoat, black shirt and dark red tie. The colour of his slacks matched the clothes he wore on his upper half. His face was really pale, heavily contrasting against the colour of his clothing. His hair was swept back and combed over in different angles, and his skin extremely smooth looking.

"Thank you gentlemen, that will be all." He said to the soldiers in a calm voice. He fixed his gaze on the girl as the two army troopers turned and left the room, the door shutting behind them. He then finally smiled a friendly smile at the girl, walked forward and sat opposite her on the other chair.
"Hello there, Arya," the man greeted her. "My name is Doctor Patrick Hargrove, I am the owner of this facility." He said as he placed his hand on his own chest. All the while he maintained eye contact with her with his very light blue eyes in a somewhat piercing, if friendly gaze. "How are you feeling?"

"I do hope you are feeling comfortable here," Patrick said after a few moments of silence. "Arya, I'm going to have to ask you a few questions, I hope you don't mind." He continued, his voice still carrying the very friendly tone.

Ayra was upset when Joel left the room. She was starting to get a liking to him. "W..why did... did Joel leave?" She was beginning to worry again. "I want Joel back.." she most likely wouldn't talk to another person for she was much to shy and scared. Though the man's friendly tone did help to take some of the fear away.

She was swinging her legs back and forth as she waited for a response. She was staring at the doors waiting for the door to open and to have Joel walk in, for some inconspicuous reason, Ayra was more intimidated by Patrick then she was of the armed guards. She didn't know any of these people's intentions but hopefully they weren't too bad.

"Where am I?" She asked shyly. She hadn't the slightest idea what this speices was, but she knew they weren't going to hurt her.. she hoped. She sighed and looked back over to Patrick, "ask me what?" she thought if she could trust Joel, maybe she could trust this doctor. Though he wouldn't get too far without Joel in the room with Ayra.

Patrick was slightly surprised by the child's sudden insistence for one of his guards to come back. She definitely wasn't a Human but she did exhibit some behavioral characteristics of a Human child. Patrick surmised that if he was going to get this interrogation going, he'd need that guard back in the room.

He sighed lightly under his breath as he reached over to a gold-plated watch he wore on his left hand and tapped on it lightly. He raised the watch close to his mouth and spoke: "Send Joel Williams back into the room please, make it quick." He tapped again on the watch and rested both his hands in front of himself, on the table, clasping them together. A few seconds passed before the helmet-less Joel walked back into the room, looking slightly tense this time as he slowly walked and stood next to Patrick.

Patrick almost rolled his eyes before re-composing himself mentally and looking at the child. Of course, no Human in this complex knew he was a really a Demon in disguise. His kind were a dying breed, but Patrick was among the few that had the foresight to adapt to the harsher environment of the new world. An environment in which Demons were not welcome. A former King of Hell had his ambitions even long after his kingdom was destroyed, which is why this particular complex located in this particular location on the Earth was really important to him. And he could not risk any setbacks or interruptions, not when he was so close to achieving his goal. It was as such that he deemed it necessary to find out whatever he could about the girl. Make certain that she wasn't going to be a problem.

"Arya, what's the last thing you remember before waking up here?" Patrick asked her politely.

Ayra continued kicking her legs. She slowly got up and walked over to Joel. She set her hand on his arm softly, her arm began glowing again and she grabbed his hand lightly, a calm and gentle warmth surged through Joel, but that was all.

Ayra answered the question shyly, "i.. i was in a ship.. it.. it was being attacked.." she stopped and began staring in empty space tense and almost a shocked expression on her face. She shook her head and buried the memory again. She then looked at Patrick. "I.. I'm.. the last one.." She began tearing up. "M..mommy.." She broke down crying. She hugged Joel tightly, he was the only one she could truly trust now..

After she had clamed down she looked at Patrick, she felt something was off with him but she couldn't really figure it out. She brushed it off and continued with the interview, "whats.. next?" She sounded somewhat horse from crying so much, but she could continue.

Her eyes looked darker now, now she was colder inside. A trait for whatever speices she was, her eyes change brightness with her mood. She shivered and stared at the ground still sniffling here and there.

The glow emanating from Ayra's hand when she touched Joel made him almost reel back out of instinct, but he quickly relaxed when he realised that the gesture was not of hostile intent, rather one of affection perhaps. He looked over to Patrick for approval, who had turned on his chair to follow the girl with his gaze. Patrick did not look at Joel in the eyes though, his concentration was on Ayra.

He arched his eyebrow when as he watched her grab his hand and answered his question rather vaguely. Joel hesitantly put his hand on Ayra's back and patted her as she suddenly hugged him around the waist.
"Uh.." Was all he could manage, obviously not used to interacting with children, let a child that wasn't even a Human.

"Ayra, do you know who or what you were attacked by?" Patrick asked the girl. "Maybe if you can tell us as much as you know or can remember, we can help you better." He said, the fake but convincing smile of sympathy still present on his face.

She lessened up on Joel and turned to face Patrick. "I.. I don't know.." she looked down to the ground sniffling as she answered the question. Patrick seemed trustworthy so she guessed it would be okay for her to trust him. She sighed as she prepared for the next question. She was somewhat confident since she was close to Joel. He was the only one she truly trusted at this facility. She didn't feel as safe with anyone but him. She stared at Patrick for a little bit longer..

"it was demons.." she finally said. The blue in her eyes seemed a black now then any sort of blue. She almost glared at Patrick. Her feet shuffled a bit as she felt the coldness returning to them. It was just her and Joel now, in this strange new world for her. She needed to be extremely cautious about everything she said, she knew this somehow but didn't know why. She walked back over to her bed and layed down. Her sleek legs on top of the other.

She was feeling tired, all these questions, the thought of her being the last one alive. "I.. I'm tired.. please.. i want Joel.. here.." Ayra slowly ended up falling asleep. Her now dark eyes closed. She slept peacefully and undisturbed, but she didn't dream about much. Her silvery hair fell softly around her, it being down to her waist and all. She breathed softly, in and out, though it was shallow, it seemed normal for what ever she was.

As soon as the girl said "Demons", Patrick's smile dropped suddenly.
There are still Demons out there? If so then how many? I need to know...

Patrick then faked a convincing, inquisitive expression. "Demons?" He repeated, bowing his head slightly as he said so. His expression then briefly changed to that of a frown before softening. If Ayra was perceptive enough, she could perhaps tell that for that brief moment, a few thoughts were definitely running through the man's head.

Patrick's expression softened when the girl prepared to go to sleep.
"Of course Ayra, you can sleep. I am sorry to hear about what happened but rest assured, you are safe with us." He said in a sympathetic tone. He then turned to Joel.

"Keep her company. Call if there's any trouble." He said sternly. With a final glance at Ayra, he got up, turned and left the room. The door slammed shut behind him and locked.

Public#13PostSubject: Re: Heart of Ice   Heart of Ice EmptySat Dec 02, 2017 2:28 am

As the small child sleeps she shivers, even though she is under the covers of the plain white bed. Her obsidian black skin shimmers in the bright light in the room. While she slept her dreams were random and sporadic, not focusing on one thing for too long. It was making it quite difficult for the young girl to think straight. She tossed and turned in the bed. Soon she woke up, she stared around her vision blurry and clouded from the recent slumber.

She slowly sat up to see Joel sitting in a chair dozing. Ayra quietly sat up and got out of bed, she slowly walked over to Joel not wanting to wake him up. She then walked to the door, she tried to open it but found it to be locked. She then put her hand on the cold metal door, her arm lit up in the same violet color, she then took her hand off of it and sat down in front of it, she let out a loud sigh for she was tired of being cooped up in this cell with nothing to do and nothing to see. She then took off a necklace, the pendant was an Elegantly designed leaf shape. She held it in her hands and looked over at Joel.

Ayra soon knocked on the door through sheer curiosity. "Could someone let me out? it's boring in here and there are no toys to play with." She wasn't a threat to the research going on in this facility, far from it, and it wasn't healthy to keep a child locked up like this in confinement, especially since she has been in Cryo sleep for an unknown length of time. She walked over to Joel and poked him on his shoulder. "Joel.. Could we get out of this room?" She sat poking him over and over again.

Joel woke up quickly in response to the nudging on his armoured shoulder. His instincts almost caused him to reached down towards his sidearm, but upon regaining memory of where he was and seeing the Ayra at his side, he quickly calmed.

It was evident that she wanted out of the room. It wasn't difficult for him to see why. Even for him it seemed quite.. confining. "Alright hold on.." He said to her as he stood up and cricked his neck a few times. He held out his hand for her to hold and led her to the door. He stopped and seemed to think for a few moments. He was allowed to do this wasn't he? It wasn't like he'd be taking her anyplace... sensitive. Just a quick stroll around the base, that was all. She was a child after all..

Joel raised his other forearm up to his face and spoke into it. "Yo Mark, could you get this open please?" He said. A voice came from a speaker on his arm. "Uhhh, is she allowed to be out? You know the boss will-"
"I'm not gonna take her anywhere near the digging site." Joel interrupted. "She just needs a breather man, I can't let her be locked up in here like this." The concern in his voice was prevalent. A pause came from the other end before Mark agreed. "Fiiine." The door slid open.
"Thanks." Joel said before lowering his arm. He glanced down at Ayra before leading her out of the room.

The air was only slightly cooler in the corridor, but still warm nonetheless. The corridor stretched out to both sides. On the right it seemed to bend away and out of sight while the left ended with a set of double doors. Joel led her down towards the right and followed the corridor around the bend and further down until they reached an opening. The room they stepped into was a bit more elevated than the corridor connected to it, so they had to climb four steps in order to properly enter it. It was an internal park of sorts. There were patches of greenery at the center of the large rectangular room. Trees sprung up from the grass in the middle. The edges of the room also featured patches of grass with the occasional tree or bush. The rest of the floor was also concrete and there were benches scattered all around the place. The massive rectangular skylight above let sunlight shine in and illuminate the room. If Ayra was to look up through the skylight, she would be able to see that there was a bit of a blizzard outside with snowflakes flying through the air, carried by the rapid winds of the south pole. The sky was a light blue, which only accentuated the coldness outside.

Joel led her towards one of the benches and allowed her to sit down first before sitting down next to her. A few other marines that were hanging out in the area gave them a few looks before going about their businesses, talking to each other or passing by.

Ayra looked around amazed like she had never seen any of this before, it was all new for her. She smiled exposing her small cat like teeth. She looked over at Joel and smiled happily, her eyes were now a light blue, almost matching the sky. She was glad to finally be out of the cell, she knew she could trust this place more. "My home is like this, it had lots of sky windows.. Until.." her eyes dropped two whole entire shades. She then stared down at the ground. She was lost in thought, thinking about her old life and her parents. Every second, her eyes dropped a shade, until they were midnight black with tears welling in them.

She sat on the bench kicking her legs back and forth. She scooted closer to Joel, her head fell against his arm as her silver hair feel over her face. She thought this would hide her tears as she missed home, but she wasn't too sure. She wrapped her arms around Joel and buried her face in his arm. She said in a tearful voice "Please stay with me.. you're my only friend now, all my old friends are gone.. along with everyone else..."

Ayra sat there for twenty more minutes, crying and being with Joel. She didn't mind the others staring at them, she didn't even realize it. She wasn't looking at them or anyone else. She soon fell asleep there leaning on Joel, her mind at ease now thanks to him. She was just a lost child, she couldn't even hurt a fly. Perhaps she would be introduced to the other places on the planet, but she wouldn't go anywhere without Joel.

At the sight of the girl cuddling up against him, Joel's comrades snickered, and the man felt his cheeks flush. He hesitantly put his hand on her back and gently patted her in an effort to comfort her, which only seemed to cause his friends to sneer at him even more. He chose to just sit there until Ayra would wake back up, not wanting to interrupt her nap.
