That sounds amazing, X-Calibur. I never knew that the cyborgs made an appearance here. Well, being allowed to develop Rah into a powerhouse is beyond my wildest dreams. Truely.. *sigh* =) I really dislike god-modding, yet I also love godly characters who are extremely powerful but not using any of their powers.. '#Grandalf'
you noticed eh..
Realizing that characters should have a balance to fit in to interact with others they need both strengths and flaws, I am planning to do something just like that.
If allowed, I will try to work out this concept plan:
Rah is an Omega tier supernatural being, though not formally listed as omega because his planet was just recently discovered and is not yet explored properly due to the research teams/operatives running out of time to gain access to him, which is very difficult in his culture. They could not investigate thus confirm his status. The research teams picked up some rumors from outcasts that the first following dawn games will take place in 2663, if I say it correctly it is now 2563. It means that the 'festival' takes place after 100 years from now. According to my calculations it should give near impossibility to take place if the timeline remains static.. at least as far as I know that is of course.
Rah becomes subject to yet unknown cause, have to think about that a little bit longer, and looses almost all of his power. Dropping down to the lowest tear of supernatural beings. Most likely I will write one very heavy piece of battle about this evenement ones every part of the lore is ready for role play.. Now, after this event Rah becomes nearly powerless, he decides to track the problem to it source to regain his power. This is of course not as simple as it sounds, and it will take him across the galaxy.. ''rushing'' to regain every bit before it is 2663. Because he has to initiate the games, for it is his ''divine'' right, declared by his gods, and duty to do so, or else his culture goes into civil war and despair.. a total destruction so to say.. (so he has to build up towards omega again to save his existence, will in reality this will take more than just one post, obviously so I can prolong the ''rushing'' part for quite some time)
So, what are the full powers of Rah? (still a concept)
The powers can be split up into four main parts:
Sand magic
Sand magic will allow him to cast 1 single Sand Shade, that he can use as remote copy-expansion of himself;
Sand magic can be used to transform himself into a Jackal for self empowerment;
Sand magic will allow him to bend sand to his will.
Sand healing
Can be used to heal own wounds;
Can be used to heal other people their wounds.
Undead
He can be killed of course, but is able be revived in his pyramid, if his assemblable body or body parts are brought there;
Grands not having to breath and night vision. (toxic things and poison would not work on him as well, he is undead right!)
Shade Form
Able to fly as a fine dark sand cloud;
Able to teleport from sand to sand, if the location is known.
Subtraits worth mentioning:
-Owns the scepter of life, the eon-turux. This is a sacred top-tier god-artifact, only very very few items in this tier exist. This divine staff controls his planet and passively his planet`s balance, this item is able to cast, bind, and control his extremely overpowered and 'very Undead' Jackal army, and improving his own abilities of course... This is his true seat of power for the keeper is also bound within the staff, the rod itself is extremely, extremely, extremely limited in usage. The only three reasons for self initiated usage: his planet being in danger, he is being in danger himself while on his planet, during the Games of Dawn. The staff can never be self initiated to use outside of the protection of those three things. If there is a galactic super need, and a majority would request his help, with permission of the admins of course, the staff may be used offensively, and only then under the specific prescribed rules for that occasion. (maybe event related or some cyborg issues if nothing seems to work, though I know that Rah would rather watch passively from his safety of his planet to see the world trough his shades...) As long as Rah does not have Omega status he will be too weak to wield the staff, for he needs to be on full strength to wield it.. (I will write additional lore on this later on to remove all possible misuse of this item)
-Rah is a religious and ancient ruler, who owns the planets essence trough owning the staff, having merged his soul with it. His position as keeper puts him above the monarchies of his planet.. has a lot of resources and things available. (of course he will experience a few twists in the story.. like loosing everything for example.. ehm.. spoiler.. , I will however do my upper most best to keep things very interesting and super balanced.. no worries.. ) -Rah is the first sand High Priest, he wants to remain being the last one too... what ever it takes.. -My inspiration came from:
The Mummy: Imhotep
The Chronicles of Riddick: Aereon
Harry Potter: Lord Voldemort (Lich concept)
Elder Scrolls Skyrim: Dragonborn, Vampire Lord and Dragon Priests
Pirates of the Caribbean: Captain Black Beard his magical sword
Daenerys Targaryen`s slave whip
After the intro post, ones I have written everything out including the application, Rah will lose most of his powers, he will have to build it all up again. His shades are very short ranged, his jackal form only able to be used on sand, and sand magic is nothing more than cleaning his boots before going inside a home.. He can heal small wounds and other people their wounds using sand in direct contact. Undead speaks for itself, and Shade Form could be seen as being able to enter a door trough the key hole, and teleport only working to the edge of town.
His skills will slowly, very gently develop. I am not sure how the classification goes, but I guess it will be a lovely discovery to see Rah grow out bit by bit to serve others along the way!
Eventually, the aim is that he can use his Shade expansion to be at any place in the universe, similar like an out of body experience but with the environment interaction. His Jackal Form will be able to be used without sand but using his own life energy, and of course a bit stronger. His control of sand is similar to bending his whole planet into one massive sand storm. He can regenerate himself completely trough teleporting all his remains, or only spirit, to the pyramid and creating his own body from sand that is stored there. He can revive others at will. His Shade Form is able to fly longer distances and he can teleport himself to any location in the universe.
The limitations that come with it:
- Faction neutral where he can, because else it could upset the balance in the universe if he becomes Omega;
- being a priest he never fights directly with intent to hurt others, ever. he 'serves' his own people;
- without his sand skills he is crippled and will most likely need a cane or a wheelchair; (maybe he will levitate in the far far future as his body becomes more fragile, but that is not yet determined or known)
- extreme fire vulnerability, turns him into glass for a wile;
- extremely powerful sand abilities only cast in personal solo story line to prevent disrupting the balance of the universe;
- extremely powerful sand abilities limitation may be temporarily overruled by admins if they decide it is necessary;
- rarely uses his own magic, outside of training maybe, Rah rather sends his minions to do his bidding;
- people can prevent him teleporting/observing by sealing off an specific area they own with specific magic, unless he is there on sight with a group of like minded non NPC characters. An exception to this is condition is of course his home planet where he rules absolute in the end. (I guess that I will write a piece of lore about sand magic to make no confusions or sadness before I put Rah into play)
- If Rah regains power, it will be very, very difficult for people to reach him... so that will get a twist too when it comes to reviving other characters, it ensures that he is not able to help every single soul.. so that his actions stay special and valued by friends.. with established connections.. :3 Of course people who have a deep going friendship are more likely to have access to Rah.
- long distance abilities require some kind of meditation to properly work, making him extremely vulnerable for attacks, so he does not use that often.
My aim is to give him a ship, so that he does not have to use his magic too often (I try to use 99% no magical teleport) Compare this with qui gon jinn who talks first before using mind tricks..
Purpose:
-full support 'Grandalf' style character;
-being able to help other characters with mistakes; (like reviving after accidentally killing themselves, sometimes)
-being a reliable ally to someone, yet not giving complete loyalty;
-Extremely lazy and passive character. :3
Compare Rah with some kind of Grandalf, tough not being a god or some kind of all knowing one of any kind, purely characteristically talking, he shares the spirit like Grandalf in that he could easily destroy Mordor but chose not to do so. For it upsets the balance of the universe of middle earth. My idea is for Rah to be exactly like that. Slowly building towards terrifying power, lorewise, to ensure that it remains controlled I will heavily nerf him, so much that is gives equal playground and pleasure to other characters. Maybe he will eventually become more adapt in using his shades, making them more realistic and permanently residing in his pyramid.. who knows.. =)
