Zac walked back to his room his day of training over. His muscles ached and his arm was bleeding in three different places. His master knew that giving him pain would bring out his power and he liked doing it in the oddest but cruelest of ways. The door slid open the lights off. All he wanted was to sleep and he shed his robe along with his shirt as he slid under his covers the blood staining the pure white sheets. Zac stared up at the ceiling as his dream phase began to set in. His dark blue eyes gently shifted to the low grey as his eyelids began to gently sink over the colorful eyes. Right before they closed for sleep it transitioned to a bright purple his dreams gently catching him.
His eyes shot open cold sweat making a puddle beneath his body. He sat up looking around the small room. He saw the dresser where his clothes still sat for tomorrow. He looked over to his closet door which was inched open. He knew he always kept it wide open and he swung his legs over the bedframe as his hands tightened. He crept over his hearing and smell on overdrive. The creak of his foot on a loose board froze him as he listened for an answer to his footstep. Nothing could be heard but his quiet and slow breathing. This was what he trained for and now he had a chance to prove it. In one fluid motion, he finished the last step ripping the closet door open. Inside it was empty. He saw his clothes now shaking gently along with the full-length mirror in the back. As his eyes drifted to it he saw something behind him. A small dark shadow with blood red eyes. As he spun the small creature grew to fill the entire room. Darkness surrounded him throwing him around with the stunning cold ripping through his body.
The darkness faded to a view of a tree blowing gently in the wind and the dual yellow suns light filtering through the leaves. The wind hit him first and he smiled as he remembered the smell of his old town. The summer days with the sound of children playing in the distance. He rolled over to his side as he glanced around seeing that he was laying under a tree in the middle of a grassy field. He stood up dusting off his jeans. His vision caught on the side of the house that he now saw from his vantage point. His blood turned to ice as he remembered this place. His mind went into overdrive as he tried his hardest to take his legs and move them in the other direction. His legs had other ideas as he began walking step by step towards the house. He could only watch and remember as the first scream ripped through the air. His feet sped up almost immediately as he made a beeline for his kitchen door.
His 14-year old legs carried him fast as he made it to his driveway door. He didn't have any shoes so he threw open the door trying to find the source. He ran up the stairs just as his sister ripped her door open. They made brief eye contact before nodding knowing that it could only mean one thing. My father was home. I motioned for her to go downstairs and wait for me before rounding the corner to the now open bedroom door. I don't know how he got in here without me noticing or how he even got here but I didn't care. Over three years ago my mother had left my dad after he broke her arm in a fit of rage. We had moved over three territories to get away from this monster but he had found us. The sound of his sister's feet retreating down the stairs gave him confidence as he tore down the hallway pushing the door open. The scene before him was imprinted so deeply in his mind that he physically got sick when he thought about it. Blood splatters were everywhere over the white carpet. His vision tracked from the blood to the bathroom where it stopped. He heard the scream again this time louder than before. It was the sound of pure pain that can never be replicated in his own mind. The first two steps were taken before the next scream came. He picked up a wooden plank that had fallen from the closet roof. As he peeked his head around the door he saw his father holding his mother up by her hair. Her nose seemed to be hanging off and a large cut across her stomach shot out blood like a hose. His father didn't notice him but his mother's eyes were wide as she had noticed him. A rage filled his body as he saw the cut across her stomach. His mother was due to have a baby boy the next month and to see this gave him anger that he didn't know he had. He roared in rage and took the distance between them quickly as he swung the plank hitting his father in his knee. He could hear the bone shattering as his father let out a howl. Even with the now shattered knee, he backhanded Zac into the shower door shattering the glass. His mother cried out before being silenced by another stab to the stomach. Zac saw this through blurry vision and heard through ringing ears what his father said.
"You think you can get pregnant when you're still with me you little whore?" His roar broke through the ringing as Zac tried to stand.
"Well, you aren't allowed! You are my property you stupid bitch!" As the next knife went into his mother Zac stood on sore legs. His eyes turned to a blood red as he took another step. This step made the sound of a thunderclap and his father abruptly dropped his wife to cover his eyes. He turned to Zac the knife in his hand.
"The fuck was that you useless excuse of a son!" HIs dad screamed pointing the knife at him.
"I'll fucking kill you as well." Zac's hair fell over his eyes hiding them as the pent-up rage built up more and more force.
"You mute now you stupid shit?" At that insult, his hands shot out the knife coming straight for Zac's throat. His mother screamed as time seemed to slow. Zac looked up through his hair the red glowing. His father's face went into a look of shock as Zac's hands shot out and his father was flung back smashing into the mirrors of the bathroom. He took a couple steps towards his father as he desperately tried to stand. With another step, Zac raised his palm his father lifting up and smashing into the mirror one more time before flying out of the door into the bedroom. He followed his eyes going from blood red to a deep orange.
"You think you can hurt my mother?" Zac said his voice barely above a whisper.
"After everything you've done, I will rip you apart piece by piece." With that phrase, the entire wall of the bathroom ripped into thousands of wood chips all floating around him. His father sat up moving against the outside wall.
"N-no..please.." He whimpered holding his hands before his face.
"You deserve no mercy," Zac said before the wood chips flew at him getting ready to deal the final blow. They stopped inches away from his face and Zac swiveled to look at the bedroom door. His sister stood there her own hands raised. He could see that she was under physical strain and he pressed harder against her barrier.
"Let them go." He growled. She shook her head as beads of sweat fell off her face. He clenched his teeth and pressed harder as she began to lose her grip. Then he felt a searing pain in his calf. He looked behind him at his fathers ripping the knife out. A large timber ripped out of the ceiling smashing down onto his father pinning him. He heard his sister yell before swirling around throwing his sister down the hallway.
"Why stop me?" He said as he began to walk closer.
"Because he needs to be given justice Zac!" She said as she pulled herself up.
"Mother is going to die because of him!" He roared in return. Then came the battle of their telekinesis. They both influenced their surroundings as debris flew around them ripping the house apart. A piece of the banister flew into his shoulder and he in return threw a timber at her leg. She dodged out of the way as more of the building began to rip and tremble. A piece of rock hit her in the head and she fell as the part of the floor she was on caved in throwing her down into the foyer. He stopped his eyes wide as he ran over to the area that fell in. He saw her struggling to get out from under a large piece of wood. His eyes faded to a deep purple as he lifted up the piece throwing it to the side.
"Go, Riley! I'll get mom!" She nodded as she blasted the door open running outside into the sun. He ran back down the hallway which was now collapsing. He saw his father had managed to get himself out from under the timber and was crawling to one of the walls which had fallen. He scowled and ran into the bathroom. The sight that greeted him was awful. His mother's stomach was outside as well as multiple of her intestines and other organs. The blood was everywhere and now he could see why. A fallen piece of wood had impaled her. As he got closer the true sight was even more horrific. His mothers fetus's body lay half under the wood and half out. Tears fell down his face as he knelt next to his mother's body more of the building collapsing. His eyes were dark red and he knelt there as the roof fell in filling his vision with darkness.
