Name: Amanir (Translation: ‘Worthy’ or ‘Of Worth’)
Owner: Aurora Crow
Creator: Unknown
Development Thread: Bonded with Aurora Crow in ‘A Quest for Knowledge’
Type: Bow
Ammo: Any expertly crafted arrow (e.g. Fey/ Elven or Santori origin)
Rarity: Unique
Strengths
-Amanir has the ability to chose its owner, meaning that the subsequent bond between the bow and its wielder is incredibly powerful. The bow derives its name from ‘Amanir’ an ancient word of Old Santorian meaning ‘of worth’ or ‘worthy’, deeming those it chooses as worthy of its power.
-The strength behind Amanir when it is fired is extremely powerful and can reach longer ranges than your average wooden bow.
Weaknesses
-The bow obviously is limited in range, and would be quite disadvantageous in a close combat situation as it is large and heavy.
-The bow, having some form of sentience, can be volatile or rather have ‘a mind of its own’ when it wants to, sometimes acting defensively towards those to whom the wielder wishes no harm.
-The bow can change its allegiance, this only happens in extreme circumstance, e.g. magic that interferes with the enchantment on the bow, the wielder becomes no longer worthy, the death of the current wielder etc.
Description
Forged by one of the ancient Santorians, Amanir is a bow of honour and worth. A weapon originally used to test the worth of new candidates to the Valor Santori, it generally choses and bonds with a person whom it likes, and this bond is only generally broken under extreme circumstances. The bow is beautiful in its design and is made from ‘onyxwood’ a rare material found on Santori, therefore making it an excellent weapon.
