| It's been a few months since Sylvia had finally convinced Jessie to retire and find a more peacefull lifestyle. After nearly dying again she had gotten a fear for combat and she now just wanted to live peacefully on a small combat as a civilian instead of a combatant. After months of complaining she convinced Jessie and they both settled down on a small planet. They got a small house in the suburbs and decorated it mostly by hanging up their equipment. Jessie found a job as a mechanic while Sylvia became a waitress in a small restaurant. They lived peacefully and Sylvia was happy at least. They had built up a bit of a routine: Both go to their work, Jessie go to the place Sylvia works at to get lunch and that evening Jessie picks her up, they repeated this every day for a few months already. One friday night though, Sylvia was more exhausted than usual as she was nearly going through her knees as she leaned against a wall while waiting for Jessie. |

| In the background, the sound of a motor running and wheels going across the road could be heard, then a few moments later a women dressed in black leather would be seen turning the corner on a motorbike. It almost seemed cinematic, how the sun set cast an orange glow over everything, setting the horizon up like fire, only to have this woman turn her back causing it to come to a swift halt. The woman turned her head to Sylvia, only to kick the stand down and get off the bike. Pulling off her helmet, Jessie gave a warm smile to her wife. However she quickly raised an eyebrow as she wandered over, after placing her helmet down on the bike's handle.
"You alright there, Flower's? You look exhausted." Jessie mentioned with a cheerful smile. After all Friday's where her day, end of the week, no more work, and the whole evening to spend with her wife, it usually seemed to be on of the only days when she could relax. Making her way over, she took Sylvia's hands, and twirled around the girl softly, now behind Sylvia Jessie hugged her gently, holding her head over Sylvia's shoulder. "Hard day?" She asked softly, quickly placing a kiss on Sylvia's cheek. |

| Sylvia was rubbing the sleep out of her eyes when she finally saw Jessie apear on her motorcycle. She smiled when she thought og the car that they used to have but ended up selling because it was too 'boring'. She was reluctant at first but enjoyed Jessie's motorcycle alot more than a prius. "Yeah im fine... Just a rough day of work because i asked for a raise and my boss made me work for it. That's probaply why i couldnt sit down and have lunch with you..." She giggled and wrapped her arm around Jessie's head when she leaned her, playfully locking it in place before letting go. "Yeah... Im exhausted but im fine now, dont worry about it." She kissed Jessie on the lips and wandered over to her motorcycle and sat down on the small 'backseat' and waited for Jessie to sit down. She enjoyed riding around with Jessie on this bike at high speeds. |

| Walking over to her motorcycle, Jessie wrapped one hand around her waist. Reaching the bike Jessie passed Sylvia a spare helmet she had, just in case, it was one of her worst thoughts thinking of what would happen if she crashed and Sylvia cracked her head against the road. Placing her own helmet on, she took hold of the hands, grinning under her helmet as she felt Sylvia's hands wrap around her.
"Hold on dear." She said with a smile chuckle, as she suddenly kicked off into full speed for a short moment. It was a good thing Jessie was skilled in driving most vehicles, because if she wasn't she would of just rammed the two of them into a near by car. Once on the road she slowed down to the speed limit. They would spend about twenty minuets on the road, until their house came into view. Jessie slowed down gradually as they came into their drive way. Kicking down the stands, she hopped off, pulling her helmet off.
"Looks like it's gonna rain any time soon..." Jessie mentioned as she looked up to the scally grey sky, with a face of annoyance. Jessie was always one to hate water, but then again that shouldn't of been too much of a surprise considering she was both part demon, and a pyromancer. Shaking her head at the sight she dug her hand into her jacket pocket, pulling out a set of keys. "Let's get inside, I think we both need a rest after today." Jessie said with a tired smile. Fumbling at the door, she quickly opened it. Throwing her jacket off as she walked inside, she collapsed onto the near by couch, closing her eyes. "Comfy cushions." She whispered to herself softly. |

| As usual, Sylvia didnt bother to put her helmet on, she enjoyed the wind flow through her hair as Jessie speeded her bike through the streets. Once at home she blew a kiss at Jessie as she headed into the bathroom to change from her skimpier waitress attire to more casual cargo pants with a white tank top. She went out to feed her animals and returned to lay down on Jessie's chest.
She smelled slightly off though wich was the only thing different than usual and it wasnt because of her animals either. It lingered in her hairs. Other than that it was just another day... |

| While Sylvia was gone, Jessie took the time to chuck her boots off, and lie back down on the couch. Closing her eyes she let out a small sigh. Life was simple these days, Jessie had taken up work as a mechanic while Sylvia became a waitress. Quite a jump from their previous life of Adventure and life risking missions, and in a way, Jessie was alright with it. She could find a place in the simple life, after all, she got time to spend with her wife, without the looming fear of death hanging over her head. Yet there was always something down in the pit of her stomach, nagging at her, telling her this wasn't how she lived her life. At time she found herself missing the taste of danger and the feeling of having to balance on the tip of a knife, just to achieve success. Call it selfish or not, but at times Jessie even found herself moaning about how mundane things had become. Yet she managed to keep it down, after all it made Sylvia happy and kept her safe, which was what she always wanted.
When Sylvia came back, laying her head down on Jessie's chest, she couldn't help but smile as she looked down at the girl on top of her. Playing with her hair, Jessie kept rather quiet, just holding Sylvia close and making sure she felt safe. Yet after a few moments, Jessie realised the smile, it was odd and lingered in her nostrils. She just brushed it off at first, attempting to ignore it. Yet as time went on, it only became more prevalent to her, annoying even.
"Phew, your hair smells kinda odd, anything happen at work?" Jessie asked, rather curious for some odd reason, perhaps it was just a new perfume, or an air freshener from work. Jessie was sure it was nothing to be worried about, why would it be, yet Jessie was just curious and wanted to know. |

| She had her eyes closed and was completely relaxed when Jessie mentioned the odd smell but due to the lack of anger in Jessie's voice Sylvia assumed she didnt recognize the smell. Good though because she didnt think she could prevent Jessie from murdering her boss if she found out what she had to do for that promotion, she already had a bad reputation so she wanted to prevent Jessie from even conversing with her boss. So she came up with some bullshit real quick. "Ah! Eh.... Someone spilled mayonaise on me... I guess you're smelling it now, ill just take a shower" She said before heading off to the shower... |

| As Sylvia left Jessie laid there on the couch. Just watching her partner in crime wonder off. There was something about her voice that just raised a few questions, and especially how quickly she just wanted to get away. Jessie quickly shrugged the feeling off, and just let herself rest on the couch for a short while.
By now Jessie had began to doze off. It had only been about ten minuets since Sylvia left her side, yet work had got her exhausted beyond belief. Her new job was hard work, yet it paid well, and there was no denying she wasn't skilled in her craft. Sure a few of her co-workers raised their eyebrows when she first arrived. Most of them expecting someone, bigger and who looked like they had worked in the industry before. However it didn't take long for Jessie to prove her place, and even become friends with a few of them. Of course, there where those unlucky few who where dumb enough to piss her off, but they soon realised why they shouldn't do that, and quickly left her alone. Life nowadays was simple, but in ways it was well earned.
Another ten minuets past, and Jessie finally decided to get up. Pushing herself off the couch, she headed to their room. She didn't bother to knock, not really knowing if Sylvia was in or not, she was just hoping she could get a little surprise, but if not, nothing lost. Walking into the room, she pulled off her top, throwing it to the side. Stripping down the rest of her clothing, she quickly got changed into something far more comfortable, and less ugly than her work clothes.
Now wearing a short sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans, the scars on her arms became visible. Sure, significantly faded, but they still popped up like dancing tattoos, telling a twisted story. She rubbed her hands over her scars feeling no pain, just the bumps of the cuts. "My tattoos are nearly as fucked up as yours Sylv..." Jessie mumbled to herself, as she looked at herself in the mirror. |

| When Jessie entered the room, she would find Sylvia wearing short bathrobes while brushing her teeth, in it's core nothing odd but she typically did that before going to bed and they havent even eaten dinner yet, it was just another thing Sylvia suddenly did different out of nowhere. She finished up quickly and smiled at Jessie as she walked out. Shortly after that Jessie could hear rumbling in the kitchen, as of usual Sylvia would prepare dinner, and only minutes later the whole living room smelled like herbs and spices. Elven cooking certainly was an aquired taste, it rarely ever involved meat and was typically extremely sweet or salty. It wouldnt be so bad if Sylvia was good at it, but she wasnt... Coming into the question Jessie would find her scrolling through the book while something next to her was burning. The entire book was written in elven, but not the elven species Sylvia was wich explains why there was an open pack of gunpowder, salt and oregano with an opened bottle of olive oil standing next to the frying pan. She had apparently thrown some leeks and spinach in there as well and it didnt just look gross but it was about obvious she would keep making it worse if she wasnt stopped. It seems Sylvia was oblivious or simply ignoring the stuff in the frying pan right next to her as she was apparently searching for something to 'save' the dish. There was a small TV on besides the cooking area and the chef was on with his elemoron helping hands. They were making spinach soup and it seemed Sylvia wanted to mimmick it. |

| After a short while, Jessie wondered into the kitchen, now wearing a hoodie to cover up her twisted scars. Upon coming in, she couldn't help but scrunch up her nose at the smell. It was terrible to say the least. However, Sylvia was cooking elven food out of everything, and she was cooking. It wasn't a good combination, but it's not like Jessie would ever say that to Sylvia.
Hanging her head a bit, she walked a bit further in, coming up behind Sylvia. Her hands wrapped around her waist gently, and Jessie prompted her chin on Sylvia's shoulder looking over at the cooking. Swaying with Sylvia gently, Jessie gave her a small kiss on her chin.
"Sylvia... What's with the gunpowder?" Jessie asked, her eyes wondering over to the cook book. Jessie wasn't the greatest at reading the elven language, but being together with Sylvia with several years, she had picked up bits of the language here and there, so much so she can actually speak the language, sure she can't speak it well, but she can speak it. When it came to reading the recipe, she found it slightly difficult but managed, just. "I mean, I know you like making your dishes explosive and all, but... I don't think gunpowder is healthy..." Jessie commented, not looking at the dish. Jessie knew she'd eat it in the end, her tastes weren't picky, and she'd eaten worse. Just.
Her eyes moved over to the TV and she watched the chef work with the elemoron, so that's where they had gone once Jessie and Sylvia retired from adventuring. She saw they where trying to make a soup, so that's what they where having, Jessie would of never actually guessed without the chef saying so. |

| Whatever Sylvia was cooking, it looked like pure sludge: black and almost slimy. The most interesting thing in the kitchen was definetly the elf making it, the food looked like something someone could find in a sewer drain. It smelled awfull too but luckily she soon chose to give up and bring it to the container in the garden. "Im surry Jessie, i saw somewhere that gunpowder tastes kind of sweet and we ran out of sugar for it. So i improvised and used your leftover bullets to make this and i just made it worse..." |
