- They need to wear special goggles due to UV intolerance
- Sterile
- Need special breathing apparatus due to weakened lungs causing them to have a aggressive form of asma.
Appearance
Scythians look like normal humans with several key differences.
Firstly their skin is deathly pale/rotted and broken as imaged above. The extent of their physical appearance differs from when they received the failed Varanus vaccine that locked them in a state between being cured and still infected.
Scythian eyes are also mostly faded thanks to the loss of pigmentation as one of the many side effects of the parasitic virus and vaccine's reaction.
Culture
Their culture has changed much after their transformation.
Scythians live isolated lives on their station where they undergo many therapys in a desperate attempt to reclaim what little identity they have left.Their station has a shrine of those they lost during the outbreak,on brighter days the station would be filled with folksong and hushed sobs. They live in a state of depression.
All Scythians serve a branch in the Imperial Army known as the Hospitaliers, they take deep pride in service of this unit as it is one of the few things they have left. The Scythians despite having been citizens of Farnin are alienated from their more fortunate kin and because of this they choose to remain on their sterile station.
The Varanus have great respect for the Scythian partly due to their resilience and have spent much on therapy to prevent the slow rising number of suicides among the Hospitaliers.
History
After Ayil of the Immortals released the Scythe parasite into the watermains of the City of Farnin the duchy who had a majority of humans fell into chaos as the once peaceful merchants turned into ravenous zombies. The Imperial BioCorps where pressured into creating a countermeasure to prevent the spread of the virus to the trapped Farnin survivors who could not escape the Imperial blockade set up to prevent the spread to other human worlds.
The cure while successful was highly aggressive and led to the vaccinated to suffer major side effects that created them into a human sub-species designated as Homo Scythians. To this day in a world of aliens far and wide these individuals are viewed as animals to most humans who find the deformed and rotted appearance of the Scythian as a abberation to be disgusted at.
