Name: Orion Station
Habitable: Yes. The station is pressure-sealed and has its own atmosphere suited to most life forms.
Terrain: N/A
Size: Medium
Population: Multiple different species. Only Bounter Hunters or the station's workers/owners roam freely on board.
Location: Any
Development Thread: N/A
Technology:
The station is circular and disc-shaped with one spire jutting out of the center. It has multiple inner levels with service tunnels used by crew that consist of automated and biological personnel. These workers are tasked with the overall maintenance of the station. Station defenses and a specialised FTL drive network also exist.
Orion Station is owned by the Eclipse Mercenaries.
History:
The station hasn't been around for long and was only built to provide all the bounty hunters and mercenaries in the galaxy a safe haven from which to operate - in return for their allegiance to the station and its staff. The station was built sometime in the early 26th century and is in use by bounty hunters all over the galaxy.
Description:
Orion Station is a space station. It is shaped like a circular, disc-like platform with multiple inner levels. There is a central cylindrical spire that juts out from the top and acts as the main bounty hunters' hub complete with bars, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, lounges, etc. At the very top of the spire is the command hub from where the station is controlled by its personel. The station has been outfitted with heavy defenses such as plasma focus cannons that can melt through the energy shielding of most starships. A few of these cannons are located both on top of and below the disc. Accompanying these heavy cannons are light cannons that take care of smaller craft. These cannons utilise rapid-fire point-defense lasers to slice through enemy craft efficiently.
The station is powerd by a plasma-based core that is located at the very center of the disk, right underneath the spire inside the station. The power core is guarded constantly bu automated droids fully armed with laser-weaponry. The surface of the disc itself features numerous, heavily armoured generators that project an energy shield over the whole station. The station is heavily armoured in itself and even without its shielding, takes a lot of firepower to breach.
Along the circumferance of the station are thrusters that are used to maneuver and guide the station. At equal distances around the inside of the station are FTL drives that work in conjunction together to transport the station to another region in space if needed in the case of emergency.
There is another spire jutting out of the centre on the opposite site of the disc. This section of the station is the docking bay for any incoming starships seeking to land. A starship approaching the station must first contact the spire and request permission to land. Any hostile intent will be met with force.
