Name: Blizzard-Marksman-Rifle Mk.1
Owner: GSU
Creator: Blizzard Tech
Development Thread: N/A
Type: Long-range rifle
Ammo: Small metallic spheres a centimeter in diameter
Rarity: Common
Strengths:
The weapon is very effective at long ranges. It succeeds where the GSU Thunderbolt sniper rifle fails: a higher rate of fire. The ammunition consists of small, metal spheres a centimeter in diameter that are accelerated to supersonic speeds reaching Mach 5. The ammunition is accelerated using coilgun technology. The weapon's effective range is less than the Thunderbolt sniper rifle and as such, less energy is used to fire each shot - resulting in a higher rate of fire. Each shot can be rapid-fired very effectively with a fraction of a second delay in between each shot.
The BMR also features a scope with a 4x zoom ability.
Finally, the weapon features a dual-firing mode. The primary mode enables the user to fire off one shot at a time. However with the press of a button on the weapon's side, the firing mode switches to a three-shot burst which is effective against more armoured targets.
Weaknesses:
The BMR's coilgun technology operates of electromagnets. Therefore, it is susceptible to EMP's which may disable the weapon eiher temporarily or permanently depending on the situation. The weapon's secondary three-shot burst firing mode also consumes a lot more ammunition so extra care must be taken to ensure that the usage of the mode is a wise tactical decision.
Description:
The BMR is a long-range rifle that can be considered a weaker version of the Thunderbolt sniper rifle. The weapon utilises coilgun technology to fire metallic spheres at supersonic speeds reaching Mach 5. The speed of the projectile builds up enough kinetic energy to completely pass through unarmoured or unshielded targets at long ranges. The rifle is able to tear through light armour with a few well placed shots, but has trouble against heavier armour. This is where the Thunderbolt sniper rifle succeeds against its counterpart. Each shot can be rapid-fired with a fraction of a second delay between each one fired.
Features include a 4x optical zoom, a secondary firing mode that switches the weapon to single-shot to a three-round burst. Like all GSU weapons, the weapon is composed of Kalgenite.
