9 foot tall hunched over Creatures with Thick boney plates lineing Covering the Back like armor with 3 Long Claws  wich aren´t there to cut more so to dig or keeping Balance on each Hand, With a Long snout from their face wich hides a Long and sticky tounge with a spike at the tip of it more adapted to cut through meat.

Culture:
The villages are full with tunnels Holding Quarters for storage, cooking, sleeping, religion, Hospitals and everything else a tribal village Needs, since the Katal´uk give life birth and give birth to multiple the Kids life with the parents  Untill the Kids reached adulthood from there on They are their own Katal´uk. 
And when the Katal´uk grows up each grown up has to choose between 3 categories to live bye 
The Warrior Section: The ones that Show that they meet the warrior average will Need to defend and attack the tribe on their own life
The Collectors: many females or Smaller Males Collect Seeds and Stone for Food and to build furniture.
The Hunters: Katal´uk who don´t stand out become hunters and will hunt Other animals Underground or the few Quitters that roam he hot Surface.

History: Since Otherwordly interference on the planet is pretty much unexistent The katul´uk and other animals roaming the planet are a huge mystery to the GSU and other factions
