Ammo: The bomb splatters acid over a significantly large area.
Rarity: Common.
Strengths
-Bomb disposal. The bomb contains a certain corrosive liquid that eats away metal. They are designed to target other set charges such as c4 or ship busters. Throwing one of these at said bomb would cause the liquid contained to eat away the set bomb, including the gunpowder without setting it off. Then the liquid will eveporate without a trace.
-Splash reach. The bomb contains alot of this liquid and can cover quite a large area upon detonation wich makes this bomb extremely efficient at what it does.
Weaknesses
-Damage. The bomb has no ability whatsoever to damage armor, tanks or structure and this cannot be used against anything but hostile bombs.
-Hand detonated, unlike other grenades, the bombbusters need to be set off manually with a detonator wich not only means that it can be a bit clumsy as the user always needs to be holding the detonator, it also means that unintended detonation can destroy someone's own bomb supply.
Description
After an incident with people sneaking a nuke onto a viral ship and the crew having to retreat because no one was able to defuse it a bomb destruction weapon needed to be designed. The answer was simple: use corrosive acid to destroy set charges. The acid itself is not corrosive to organics but is extremely acidic to metals but not armor metals. It proved brutally effective at it's purpose but the lack of damage to personnel or tanks made them an exclusive tool for bomb disposal squads.
