Strengths

• An excellent marksman, he received the nickname "deadeye" after his injury (see below)
  
  
• An experienced barterer so that he can convince people to give him what he wants
  
  
• He can convincingly pretend to be anything he wishes if he has enough knowledge about it. Fake emotions are his speciality, as a teenager he pretended to be in love with a rich classmate to steal her necklace
  
  

Weaknesses

• He is a psychopath so genuine friendship is rare, the only person to ever forge a true bond with him was Tarrin (deceased), a friend from his days in the army
  
  
• He rarely thinks about the long term effects of what he does, it is of little concern to him as he only wants his current wants and needs to be satisfied
  
  
• He has never been averse to betrayal and never feels guilt, so sooner or later anyone he forges ties with will realise his true colours

Powers
(As above) Carious is an excellent manipulator of minds, he can pretend to feel anything without a second thought and is a reasonably convincing actor when needs be.

History
A veteran from a secret militia operating in the Sagittarius Arm, he was born and raised as a guerrilla warrior fighting in the name of a long dead dictator he had been brainwashed to worship. Although he supported the cause readily, acting solely for his own benefit was commonplace for him, and his childhood provided him with ample training to get whatever he wants from whoever he wants.

Upon joining the militia officially he showed promise, but rarely performed well as he found it easier to 'hack' into an insecure computer and fudge a few numbers while working his magic on the people around him. That was his forte and he saw it as the real test.

Tarrin was his bunk-mate and the pair forged an instant bond. Carious wasn't used to these feelings and thought he was ill but soon realised what was wrong with him. They were inseparable from that point forth.

At age 21 the unthinkable happened: they were attacked. A bomb landed almost directly on top of Carious and Tarrin, Instantly killing the former. Carious had the fortune of Tarrin as a human shield, he acted instinctively and held Tarrin in front of himself. Carious sustained significant injuries including losing an eye and a foot.

Rather than feeling remorse for the death of Tarrin, he merely reverted to feeling nothing, although he always kept his friends beret as a reminder of the falacy of companionship.

With the his way of life effectively destroyed, Carious started wandering the galaxy with no particular goal in mind and eventually succumbed to spending his time contolling people for fun and now lives for himself and himself only.
