Technology
In the sprawled out mega city, there is technology outdated to the point of rigid feudalism. Tribal groups across the planet have little more than spears and ramshackle armor.
History
Colonized around three hundred years ago, The people of Tenebris were almost immediately cut off from their empire as soon as they passed into the atmosphere of the planet. From here, great schisms in the colonists arose, as many simply walked off into the dark brush and over time formed the Darkbreed tribes. The humans who stayed in the city bickered with one another over control, until unrest and conflict led to an monarchal control of the city.
Description
A very notable difference from most planets is that this world is so far from its star (a neutron star), that little to no light comes from it, leaving the world in a permanent pitch black, as globe-encircling clouds block out the sky as well, letting no starlight inside.
In the easternmost reaches, a massive range of mountains spurts from the ground, reaching ten miles in height. This is accompanied by a massive stretch of ravines that connect in a gigantic cave system that runs all the way to the swamps on the other side of the world.
All flora and most fauna have some form of advanced bioluminescence, creating beautiful jungles, plains, and marshes of lights. However, these areas are filthy with venomous predators.
The mega city, known as Bastion, is a feudal state, with the hierarchy being Serfs, Knights, Governers, Priests, and the the Royal Family. They rule with an iron fist, and worship the Light, a reminiscence of the light of the stars instead of lanterns of automated lights.
