The title of the faded poster was simple enough Wanted Dead of Alive.  Of course there wasn't a date on the poster why would there be? The faded picture showed what looked to be a human in her early to mid thirties.  Ringlest of hair cascaded down beyond her shoulders.  The woman's eyes seemed to pierce his as he looked at her and a slight smile gave him the impression she was easily amused.  Farther down he looked at the monetary reward offered and whistled.  five hundred thousand credits would go along way towards the needed maintenance on Grumpy.  The old tub was especially grumpy when work needed to be done on her engines.  Still there was the fine print to read.  Wanted for crimes against all humanity gun running, smuggling, corruption, murder, and treason Kayla Muscovitz is to be treated as highly dangerous at all times.  For additional information regarding alliases and aquaintances you may contact the local consulate at....

With a flick of his wrist he activated a small hologram screen and began searching for any information about this one Kayla Muscovitz.  Unsuprisingly there was little to no information available.  It would seem however that the contract still stood.  He would have to see about doing something about that.

Kaiyan was in an local tavern refreshing himself with an glass of water while he listened in on the conversations of the various spacers.

The conversations varied from complains over starship fuel prices,tariffs,pirates,faction conflicts and many other trivial complains.But one caught Kaiyan's ear....Something about an bounty on an certain.....Kayla Muscovitz.Sounded human....Kaiyan would hiss as he called the bartender who smirked at the sight of the strange robed reptilian. "Excuse me barkeep...Do you have information on the bounty of an certain Kayla Muscovitz?"

The barkeep grinned and walked back to an room that led to what Kaiyan expected was his office or some place of storage.The barkeep returned with an wanted poster that contained the picture of his quarry.Kaiyan stood towering slightly over the barkeep as he bowed his head slightly and reached in one of the pouches his robe contained,he pulled out several credits and placed them on the table before turning to exit the tavern.His yellow yellowish eyes scanning the room,meeting the gaze of some of the spacefarers who gazed at the strange reptilian.

Kaiyan then stood just outside the tavern as he checked his gear.

He had an thermal chestplate,which was covered entirely under crimson red and black robes.His clawed arms and feet were also covered by metallic greaves and gauntlets.He had no weapon besides his gladius as he kept the ranged weaponry aboard his corvette that was docked not far away.

Kaiyan then tapped on the gauntlet activating the holo-gauntlet that allowed him to scan for information regarding Kayla.....Of course there was minimal information which made his job a lot harder.Kaiyan considered not wasting his time on this job....but the credits could net him an upgrade to his personal corvette if he paid the engineers back at New Serpentum.

Kaiyan decided to stir up the underground to find her,so he started at the one place crime thrived in this galaxy.....The planet's slums.

Reading the reward poster again Dan'l laughed softly.  Whoever wanted this woman, really wanted her.  He tapped his com again pulling up another reward poster.  The new reward poster featured a male dwarf in a military uniform wanted for similar crimes.  No, not similar, identical crimes.  The coincidence meant something but he couldn't piece together what it meant.  With a sigh he closed out of his reward poster.  The consulate was the last place he wanted to go there might be a dwarf presence there and he didn't feel like having to flee let alone kill anyone just yet.

Years of experience told him if you needed to find somebody you didn't go to a consulate anyways.  You went where people might actually see the person you were looking for.  In this squallid little hole there were few places he could think of other than a gambling establishment ran down by the wharf.  There drugs were just as valuable a currency as credits.  But worth more than either of those was information.  With his mind made up he carefully removed the wanted poster taking it with him. 

The smell of cheap alcohol mixed with the smells of fish and even urine.  Not quite a pleasant smell but he wasn't there to critique the aroma.  He carefully avoided a mostly nude waitress and her large mugs full of what could either be piss of some kind, of beer.  Approaching the bar he tossed the wanted poster on the counter allowing it to sit and simmer for a long moment.  Getting no reaction he reached into a pocket and pulled out a chip.  Knowing there were probably many eyes on him he placed the chip on the wanted poster and waited.

Kaiyan walked across the dirty streets of the slum,he would watch with his muzzled face under the shadow of his hood at the homeless and weak that would lay down in the trash and the piercing smell of sewage filled the street.

The street itself led down to an wharf where an large amount of people entered and exited an rather large but run down building.It would be the perfect place to start his search for his quarry.The robed reptilian made his way into the building and grinned at the rancid aroma within.He then slowly made his way to the bar to find an dwarfish creature throwing the very same wanted poster on the counter.

Kaiyan grinned as he thought. "Seems I am not the only hunter for this....Kayla." He would stand an few meters away on the right of the counter sneaking an few glances towards Dan'l while he ordered an glass of water.Kaiyan grinned in disgust at the almost nude waitress who brought him water that carried an hint of brown.

Kaiyan would pick up the glass and bare his sharp teeth before he poured the contents of the glass unto the dirty urine stained floor.

Dan'l noticed the strange figure approach the bar and shook his head in amusement as it ordered water of all things.  Through his periphial vision he watched the stranger pour it on the floor and grinned.  Whatever the creature was it had half of a brain at least. 

"What's on the chip?"

Dan'l grinned at the speaker in a conspiratol whisper, "Names, dates and times friend.  All yours if you tell me what I need to know."

The barkeep glanced down at the wanted poster momentarily before looking around his establishment.  Sweat beaded on his forhead as he looked back down to the poster.  Dan'l could see greed battling with something within the man.  Fear perhaps?

"I'll up the ante friend.  I have information on the latest security patrols and checkpoints.  What would something like that be worth to you and your patrons?  I'm sure that information would give you a bit of leeway with these joker."

"You don't understand I'll be dead before I get...."

A hole appeared between the man's eyes pink and grey brain matter along with bright red blood shooting out of the back of the man's skull.  Looked like that was a "dead" lead.  Dan'l turned to see who the shooter had been.  The room had gone quiet as a tomb nobody moving as they stared at him waiting for a reaction.  Sensing the hostilility in the room Dan'l decided to play a hand not his own.  He tapped his com and calmy began speaking into it.

"You have my coordinates.  Fire for effect in 10 seconds."

Kaiyan smirked as he placed the glass back on the counter he noticed the dwarfish creature whispering to the barkeep,and while Kaiyan did his best to read their lips he turned to notice an new arrival standing at doorway,it raised it's arms and Kaiyan immediately noticed an weapon.

He turned to warn the two but it was too late and the barkeep fell to the ground with an sickening crack,he kept watching as the dwarf and mysterious figure stared eachother down.Kaiyan's right hand was placed firmly around the pommel of his gladius as he waited for an opportunity to strike.Then he heard the dwarf calmly say....

"You have my coordinates.  Fire for effect in 10 seconds." The words took Kaiyan by surprise as he awaited the apparent firepower this dwarfed creature could unleash.

The words seemed to have little impact on those who had heard them.  They continued staring at him in a bored fashion.  He mentally counted down the seconds down to three seconds.  So be it the drarf thought.  He quickly reached for two grenades, one in each hand simultaneously pulling the pins on both.  One grenade he rolled on the floor a mere three feet away.  The other grenade he lobbed towards the back of he room.  Following the throw he leapt backwards over the bar ducking behind it.

An unimpressive whoop of sound came from both of the grenades.  Not the typical  fragmentation grenade one thinks of these grenades were designed and built by Dan'l for incapacitating, not killing.  As the grenades detonated the air around them quickly filled with a fast drying foam that hardened to a substance as strong as steel.

Poking his head over the bar Dan'l grinned observing his handiwork.  "Now then.  Who's ready to talk?"
