It's origin comes from the deep depths of Hell from over 500 years ago before it was destroyed completely. Only several coins remained after that occurred. They were said to be made by a Demon Lord of some sort to give to the demons to use it to travel through the living realm and back. However, since Hell doesn't exist anymore the demons can only use it to travel great distances from planet to planet. The coins years ago rested easily down in the undead realm where demons had to serve years and years to torture restless humans who have died only then to achieve at least one of them. Many demons have not ever gotten one before and has lived down in Hell for a long time. In addition, once Hell was destroyed these coins were no more after that. Whoever had gotten one and still was alive to tell the story, then they were left with it. 

It is an ancient type of demonic power that seemed to even exist before Hell did. No one knows exactly how this magic was created. Everyone seems to have their opinions and thoughts on how it became a thing. Many believe the first ones to ever die created and used this type of magic to be able to spawn powerful demons in Hell. That isn't the case anymore because only the original creators of this magic were able to do that, not anyone else to their knowledge. This magic can be unstable at first when in the hands of mortals but then your body eventually gets used to it making it a natural skill. This type of magic can be learned, taught and mastered by others with a wide experience of magic usage. It's mainly used by demons but others can learn and use it as well, they just need to come across one of the coins of course. 

Using this magic has it's pros but it also has it's cons as every time you use the coin, you get mentally and some what physically attached to the coin. It never leaves your sight once used by you. You'll know you used it successfully when a dark purple mist swirls around you as you read "In god were damned" as you then should teleport magically in a instant to wherever you thought of in that second. After the teleportation, a star shaped pentagram should be appear right beneath your feet in burnt lining with demonic symbols around it.
